When disconnected the router still blinking? I check my router event logging have lot of "xDSL linestate down"
This mean disconnected?
Mine is show "xDSL linestate down" at event logging. The page i surf get Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data.

Something wrong with the router?
*

i also can get around 1MB direct download from nvidia, but how come from that file server, i can get such speed? even my 3g broadband can get as high as 250kbps, but my fiber only get 120kbps...how come???

did you have this kind of problems?
*
maybe is because of the free server they limit your speed so that you use their paid service

Anyone know what's the password for the ID 'Administrator' in our Thomson router?

Tried leaving it blank, Administrator / Administrator, Administrator / admin, Administrator , <Access key behind the router> to no avail.
*
The username and password is case sensitive try again with <Access key behind the router> as password should work with no problem

I need confirmation for those who have installed in highrise using vdsl.
if currently using streamyx,

need to terminate streamyx first
or
terminate after maxis installation.

TQ

QUOTE(DrPitchard @ Jun 5 2012, 01:10 AM)
Well, depends on your setup actually. For those living in high rise buildings, there is no chance at all to use dual phone lines. Once Maxis Fibre Home is installed, the TM line will be pulled out at the exchange point, thus, users will NOT BE ABLE to use that phone number line anymore, and together with that, no more streamyx. For landed, still possible, since it is a seperate new fibre optic line. But do take note that it will take 3-4 weeks for TM to process your cancellation request, thus, almost 1 month of wastage, especially those staying in high rise.
it's your choice to terminate early and wait for maxis or terminate late and paid for almost one month extra

High rise installation.
Maxis will come and install on the SAME TEL LINE that uses streamyx.

so, have to cancel streamyx before maxis can install
or
can install maxis, then go terminate streamyx.

some say terminate first, some say terminate later.
who has install on high rise using streamyx before can confirm?

I scared of no terminate streamyx first,
maxis come say cannot install,
have to wait another 3 months doh.gif

my reply to you is from drpitchard

let put it this way, TIME telekom installation they have a std termination on ONT at max 21dBM. which is why they are solid. i am not sure about your actual reading.

as for your reading you say around 20dB should be get good signal on your ONT. but what is exact value?

wifi lagging i experienced before. putting a small fan helps temporary. i changed the router it solved my prob.

when tm & maxis around. anyone ask why don't they configure the phone to ONT? why everything has to be on thompson router?
*
the modem is belongs to TM... that's why everything must depends on the thomson router

QUOTE(polarzbearz @ Jul 4 2012, 03:32 PM)
My Internet was out suddenly after restarting. Initially thought it was router problem until I saw the word 'Authentication failed'.

So hard to get through Maxis Home Fibre Calling Centre... Took me 5 minutes for someone to pick up my call, then the call dropped for no apparent reason doh.gif

Called again and another 5 minutes later, went through all the normal procedures and instructions (restart router lah, modem lah etc) and only that fella finally check my request - whether if it's because maxis updated my account to public ip.

After getting his answer and try few more instructions, still authentication failed (change @home to @maxis)

Then I noticed there is WAN Easy Setup for high speed Internet + public ip + voip (currently set to hsi + voip). The public ip ones required additional details for subnet mask, which the CS couldn't provide me with, even after transferring the call to their technical department.

In the end all I get is 'we cannot provide you with the subnet mask because your maxis account is not set to public ip yet although it's been approved. All you can do is try and wait while we check for you'

I felt like I'm going merry go around rclxub.gif

Those who had successfully changed to public ip, what are the full steps in configuration?
*
it's @public.maxis.com.my

you two should be feeling lucky dy.

i register mid of jun until now maxis haven't call me.
I call them "again" just now they told me they still waiting for my application status check.
WTH. I really pissed of with Maxis. I feel like boycott Maxis dy. d@mn

chill bro... i dig out some reasoning for you

QUOTE(DrPitchard @ Jun 19 2012, 12:16 AM)
This is actually more of a process fault...
The physical form is actually sitting at the Home Fibre dept. When it reaches there, it goes through a few process, such as time slot availability, port availability, customer background check (for blacklisted customers), area availability (coverage) and so on. If it passes through all, then only will it be passed to be keyed into the system.

Thus, if you realise, lots of the response time varies alot for each and every channel. Some register online and get response within 1-2 days, some don't hear after 3 weeks and still waiting. Some goes for registration at Maxis Centre, through dealers, through staffs or even roadshows. Forms are not lost, just that due to the process and how it is sorted, the response time varies alot.

Hi, I'm new to maxis wired broadband and I heard some bad reviews and also good reviews. I like to ask quite many things, because I saw the package is so much cheaper than UNIFI and even faster. Basically there is few things I need to know.

1)Is there any cap for Maxis Broadband?
2)Besides that, anyone used Maxis Broadband for hardcore online gaming and how's the connection for gaming?
3)How's the performance to surf foreign website?
4)Is there any specific router that support Maxis Broadband or we can use any of our own router to connect?
5)Is there any throttle speed by using p2p?
6)Any frequent disconnection?
7)I like to remain my tm line can Maxis provide a new line for my internet only?

So far I think thats all, will ask again if I there are any issue that pop out from my mind... LOL~
*
mostly people just come here to complain how bad maxis fibre are...
when it's good those people with vanish into thin air...

1)no capping implement yet
2)international ping is not very good at the moment
3)web surfing is fine/excellent most of the time
4)you can use custom router and you need to keep the default router for voip
5)no throttling at the moment
6)not sure... disconnect issue seems to be causing by the sh1tty thomson router(overheat easilly)
7)depends on where you stay... high rise building will need to use your RJ11 port for vdsl and landed property you can get another line with no problem

keep the router for voip is not everybody option. my only hope is when manufacturers like asus or tplink for example. they make customized router with voip. allowing users full control over functions. you see the table will turn around against tm unifi.

maxis fiber is still new. while tm unifi has majority of users. it's just matter of time i no idea.
*
as far as i know maxis is using sip for voip... if there's people figure out the settings for voip then we can use any device that support sip to dial
we can use any router we want that time
