Here is the settings for Shibby's Tomato Firmware for Asus RT-N16.

Added on July 17, 2012, 12:37 amjssc,
Need some clarification from you.
Your Thomson router connections is it Thomson WAN port connect to your TP-Link Port1 or Port2?
Can you let me know which Thomson LED lights is on and what are the colour?

Thanks.

jssc,
Let me get this right.

Fiber <---> Huawei(black box) - LAN Port 2 <------> WAN Port-(TP Link)-LAN Port 1 <----> Thomson Router(Voice Only).

As for the Thomson Light, may I know the Internet light is Off or is Green or is Red?
Possible the snap a photo of your Thomson light while the phone is hooked?

During my setup, I assume your CPU is WAN port :-) and and work.

Later today going to try to setup the router again following your settings. Thanks.

Those who using Maxis FTTH with custom router, do you think of using VoIP adapter and totally throw away the thomson router?
adapter like this
http://www.voipsupply.com/grandstream-gs-286
http://www.voipsupply.com/m-ata
setup maybe like plugin this adapter to one of the port of custom router and setup vlan to the port and setup sip in the router? not sure if it works that way..

Anyone willing to try it out? I dont have Maxis FTTH so cant test it out..

the internet light is off.

if your using openwrt.. the CPU is not WAN port.
and if you settings up the vlan 822..you can't tag on CPU...

cause vlan 822 is for VOIP and not for internet

Added on July 17, 2012, 11:18 amone more thing to inform the VoIP1 and VoIP2 will light up once it able to register with maxis. whether phone is connect or not.

You are making progress here. You can use all ports 2-4 to connect to the internet since you have set thm to untag VLAN ID 621 packets.

Jssc uses port 1 to connect to his Thompson router for VoIP access.

Since the router supplied by Maxis is set to untag 822 by default, create another rule for 822 (VLAN #3)
Under this ruling(VLAN# 3, VLAN ID 822),
Tick(port bind) and tagged PORT 1 - Very important

Leave the rest untouched(empty)

Set bridge = WAN

Save and reboot.

Tried all possible methods for VoIP, none is working.
VID=822, Port1 tagged -- VoIP failed.
VID=822, Port1 tagged, WAN Port tagged -- VoIP failed.
VID=822, Port1 YES - VoIP failed.
VID=822, Port1 YES, WAN Port tagged - VoIP failed.

Cannot set bridge = WAN for VLAN#3. Getting error message "Only one VID can be used as WAN at any time".

Do suggest other possible settings.

Thomson Router WAN <---> LAN1(Asus RT-N16)

LAN(br0) - Used for VLAN#1
WAN - Used for VLAN#2
LAN1(br1) - Greyed.
LAN2(br2) - Greyed.
LAN3(br3) - Greyed.

The WAN, LAN(br0) can be selected once only.
I've tried all possible combination already.

Is your VoIP phone working before this at your Thompson? Have you activate it with Maxis request yet?

For the VLAN# 3 ruling it's correct to check and tagged PORT1 only leaving the rest empty.
Can the bridge be left empty instead of WAN/br0/br1...? jssc's settings if off for the CPU meaning empty.

There might be some difference here between jccs's settings for the voip. The VoIP VLAN ID could be different in your area meaning it might not be 822...

The other method is to reverse the process by untagging at your ASUS RT-N16 (create VLAN ID=822) but leave port 1 untouched.
Then log into your Thompson and remove the VLAN ID=822 rule inside it for its VLAN settings inside.

Meaning if you untag and unbind port in your Asus, you no longer need to untag it in your Thompson. Just leave the VoIP account setting inside for the phone ports to work.

The phone is working with Thomson router. Is activated.
Once I connect via my Asus router, the phone1 and 2 doesn't light up.
Any idea how to configure it in Thomson router? An guide?
How to export out those settings to check those vlans?
Another way to confirm is some one lend me the tp-link router with openwrt so I can test it with thomson router.

He's not using OpenWRT but the Tomato Shibby firmware instead.

There's one more DD-WRT instead.

All together got 3 major different variants.

Dear Sifus,

Just installed Maxis broadband on yesterday and after read all your post from page 1 till page 14. Decided and bought a TP-Link TL-WR1043ND device. Configured as per klseet.com using openwrt, but was unsuccessful at the end. cry.gif

Few questions to seek advices from all the sifu here:

1. Is the configuration correct? i just copy from sifu jssc. Can anyone correct me if wrong?

2. When come to Network > Interfaces, do i have to add the IPTV as per klseet.com? or skip this step?

3. Is my username correct? i check on Thomson router, it shown 8xxxx@home.maxis.com.my blink.gif
