Why is the VLAN ID=822 labelled for IPTV instead of VoIP?
With this you need further clarification whether if this VLAN ID is really used for the voice service.

I'm very certain now that the settings needed for VLAN ID=822 in your Tomato Shibby firmware is correctly assigned.
VLAN# 3, VLAN ID=822 Port 1 Checked & Tagged, Port 2-4 & WAN Empty, Bridge=None

Without further understanding of the VLAN settings inside your Huawei ONT & the Thompson Router for the voice(VoIP) service, you might not be able to match them correctly with your 3rd party router. The issue here might not be using 822 VLAN in your area, whether the Thompson router is untagging 822 packets or the Tomato firmware is not retagging the packets properly therefore unrecognized by the Thompson when relayed.

Just make sure you've everything done correctly and check your connection of wires to double confirm.

The alcatel white modem.

Added on July 18, 2012, 8:41 pmjssc,

tried with the advice you gave, still failed to connect.
And tried with redo all the setup, but still failed to connect.
Any idea on how to solve it?
Is it because i am using the white alcatel modem?

Need advice(s) from all of you here.

Thank you ...

Bad news, not sure why, I'm no longer able to connect to the internet using the same settings again after I refreshed my NVRAM.

If I have an Asus RT-N13U with DD-WRT custom firmware, how can I connect/configure the router to use Maxis Home Internet? My BTU is Huawei HG850a.

Anyone with an input will be much appreciated, thanks.

If I remember correctly, DD-WRT doesn't support VLAN more than 15 yet. Thus it cannot be used.
Unless you are able to hack the Huawei BTU to reconfigure it.

Bummer. Thought I could work my way around it without having the need to hack/access the BTU.

So there's no other workaround to this?

Would anyone mind sharing the default settings for the Zte931? Did some testing and had to reset it to default (factory).

Managed to get internet up and running but I can't seem to get the VoIP to work.

Much appreciated.

for landed property you will need a vlan tagging capable router
i.e. Asus RT-N13U
set it up properly and you are done

Is this done using custom or stock firmware?

Can I do it with DD-WRT?

default firmware... i did not recommend custom firmware because it can be a pain in the arse to setup and not to mention losing the warranty.

1.better stability
2.more option that a advance user can play with & having full control of the router
3.already have a router that suits the users and dislike the thomson router

The problem is ASUS RT-N13U has the tendency to hang when using the default firmware. And if you look at the other thread, you can see people are still having problem with it.

=.=" that's the cheapest option with default firmware that works
user will get support from Asus and getting firmware updates that might help
so it's still newbie friendly right ?? smile.gif
