u r using huawei btu  or alcatel lucent?
*
if I'm not wrong, my settings can be use for all modem...
cause the setting in on the TP-Link router not in the modem. I'm not did anything on modem.

and the thomson is only for VOIP, not other.

Just tag the lan1 and lan2 that all.

modem -> TP-LINK -> Internet
LAN1 -> Thomson PG (VOIP)

I'm using HUAWEI modem

That makes sense now, so if I use that, there won't be VOIP support, unless someone can hack into the modem, but if that's possible, any router can be used together right.

Just wondering, what about the future when maxis launch IPTV, since this router works with unify IPTV, just a matter of time when maxis launches the IPTV, then we just configure the VLAN port?
*
For me, i using to Tp-link tl-wr1043 as router with vlan support and also wifi

Thomson for VoIP and connect to tplink router

Hi jssc,

Can you advise how to configure TP- Link Router??
Im using white colour Alcatel modem, is it need to re-configure this Alcatel modem??
*
Actually I using klseet setting. I just do some testing on VoIP vlan. So that we can u other VoIP device or Thomson to connect the the phone, since tplink don't hv VoIP.

http://klseet.com/index.php?option=com_con...=143&Itemid=124
This is klseet website. U can refer. U just need to add and change the vlan setting.

Based on your screen you connect your BTU(Huawei)-> TPLink
Then out of the 4 ports of the TP-Link,
You connect your computer to Port1(VID=621) for internet and the Thompson to Port 2 for VoIP(VID=822)?

Looks very messy unless you plan to do away with the VoIP alltogether and the Huawei web screen can't be touch.
Or you can find a replacement for the Thompson router with built in VoIP sockets and 3 digits VLAN ID.

The guide on the first page already have the VLAN ID tagged for you by the Huawei BTU based on specific ports, so you just plug in the other routers like usual.
*
I using the TP-Link to connect internet..

Huawei -> TPlink - WAN

computer can using WIFI or connect to LAN2-4 for internet

TPlink - LAN1 -> thomson (VOIP)
since don't hv any voip device to support Maxis VOIP. so use thomson for VOIP. If can find any other Voip device can support also can connect to this port.

Try imitating jssc's VLAN settings although it's a little different.

Off = unticked
Untagged =  ticked but not tagged
Tagged = ticked and tagged
CPU = I'm not sure but it's could be WAN for bridge or br0 ( this you need to play around )
I'm guessing the line with untagged ports 3,4,5 is CPU=LAN(br0) &  tagged Port 1 CPU=WAN

Don't bother about the VLAN ID = 822 since it's associated with the VoIP?

Start from Line 1 = VLAN# 0
*
This is my first time use openwrt. as what I understand, the CPU is mean Router.

the vlan ID 822. the LAN1 or Port2 is connect to any other VOIP device. I using thomson for VOIP.

I try not to do any change on huawei modem. to make it simple, in future any problem with the modem, just call maxis to change it. it can be any brand and model. as long as maxis still using VLAN ID 621 for data and 822 for VOIP
It should work on all modem.

Hi, i'm not using Huawei modem, but using White colour Alcatel Lucent modem, currently plug in the Thomson router into LAN port #2 at Alcatel modem. So, if i want to replace thomson router for internet, what should do? Is it need to configure the Alcatel modem? Or just leave thomson router as VoIP and plug in my new router to LAN port#3 as internet and wifi??

Please advise.... because thomson router keep on disconnect...
*
If you still need the Voip, you can try my setting using tplink wr1043 and flash to openwrt. U don't need to change anything setting on modem. Just connect the tplink to modem lan2, then Thomson connect to tplink lan1.

If I not mistaken, the setting I set can be use for all modem. But I'm only tester on Huawei modem and not yet test on other modem.

U need to get a router where can support.

For my setting,

U need to get tplink tl-wr1043. Flash it to openwrt, apply setting and u can refer to klseet. Cause my setting is base on him.

Then connect it to alcatel lan2, and ur Thomson is connect to tplink lan1.
