You connect the TP-Link's WAN to Thompson's LAN port ??  Please share.

u r using huawei btu  or alcatel lucent?

That makes sense now, so if I use that, there won't be VOIP support, unless someone can hack into the modem, but if that's possible, any router can be used together right.

Just wondering, what about the future when maxis launch IPTV, since this router works with unify IPTV, just a matter of time when maxis launches the IPTV, then we just configure the VLAN port?

Can you advise how to configure TP- Link Router??
Im using white colour Alcatel modem, is it need to re-configure this Alcatel modem??

Based on your screen you connect your BTU(Huawei)-> TPLink
Then out of the 4 ports of the TP-Link,
You connect your computer to Port1(VID=621) for internet and the Thompson to Port 2 for VoIP(VID=822)?

Looks very messy unless you plan to do away with the VoIP alltogether and the Huawei web screen can't be touch.
Or you can find a replacement for the Thompson router with built in VoIP sockets and 3 digits VLAN ID.

The guide on the first page already have the VLAN ID tagged for you by the Huawei BTU based on specific ports, so you just plug in the other routers like usual.

Try imitating jssc's VLAN settings although it's a little different.

Off = unticked
Untagged =  ticked but not tagged
Tagged = ticked and tagged
CPU = I'm not sure but it's could be WAN for bridge or br0 ( this you need to play around )
I'm guessing the line with untagged ports 3,4,5 is CPU=LAN(br0) &  tagged Port 1 CPU=WAN

Don't bother about the VLAN ID = 822 since it's associated with the VoIP?

Start from Line 1 = VLAN# 0

May I know which model? HG8240? and you managed to go online with your own router without relying on an extra switch?

Hi, i'm not using Huawei modem, but using White colour Alcatel Lucent modem, currently plug in the Thomson router into LAN port #2 at Alcatel modem. So, if i want to replace thomson router for internet, what should do? Is it need to configure the Alcatel modem? Or just leave thomson router as VoIP and plug in my new router to LAN port#3 as internet and wifi??

Please advise.... because thomson router keep on disconnect...

Tested, thomson router plug into Alcatel LAN port#1 is not working at all ( internet and Voip not function )

the thomson router need to connect to the custom router after you set the correct vlan 821 to a Lan port of your custom router

it will appear waiting for router so long time...... after i close the tab, and i cannot log in to OpenWrt anymore.... Is there any mistake with my setting??

you can continue to using the setting. just change the vlan2 to vlan1. that all.

Yes, i key in xxxxx@public.maxis.com.my as my username & i selected vlan interface eth.0621.

But still not working...
Double check with you, my Tp link router WAN connect to Alcatel Lan port #2 , then Tp link port #1 is for thomson, port#2 is connect to my PC.
Is there any other thing else??
