if I'm not wrong, my settings can be use for all modem...
cause the setting in on the TP-Link router not in the modem. I'm not did anything on modem.

and the thomson is only for VOIP, not other.

Just tag the lan1 and lan2 that all.

modem -> TP-LINK -> Internet
LAN1 -> Thomson PG (VOIP)

I'm using HUAWEI modem

1)common complain
2)has been discuss in the official fibre thread.
3)speedtest not always correct best is you to download some large file from internet.
4)yes there's plenty of replacement you can get one of it would be Asus RT-N13U or just get any router that has vlan tagging

for landed property most probably you will have no access to the modem
no access to the modem means your cannot mess with the vlan setting in the modem
your choice will be using a switch with Vlan like this one and then you can use any router you like

Can I configure the Thompson router as a bridge? Just like how people using Unify have the option to use the DIR615 as a bridge and connect a custom router to the DIR 615?

PS - how much is the Asus router.

That makes sense now, so if I use that, there won't be VOIP support, unless someone can hack into the modem, but if that's possible, any router can be used together right.

Just wondering, what about the future when maxis launch IPTV, since this router works with unify IPTV, just a matter of time when maxis launches the IPTV, then we just configure the VLAN port?

most probably there wont be any hack to the modem... it's TM property which i dun think we suppose to touch...
the other choice is to know the SIP server settings so that we can use a voip adapter (this is mention in the few post in front and not working at the moment)
IF everything going fine IPTV would not be a problem at all

Ah, kinda pathetic, considering I have invested in Cisco E2000, which have been very reliable.

Btw, that Asus router, does it support loopback feature?

Bro, do you mean that for a landed property, the only equipment that the customer can "touch and see" is the superduper crappy Thomson router? So even if we replace this Thomson router with a router like the Asus RT-N13U-B1, the Asus router won't work because we have no modem to mess around with?

Thanks.

you only have to access the tm huawei if u wanna attach the phone direct to device. or for unifi users shift their iptv from router there hehee.

from my observation during installation. they directly connect LAN to LAN port. which works perfectly. when the service is up & connected. i did try to access the gui. but it dissappears after bootup. darn they apply security settings to it.

it take time for manufacturer come out with a router with voip & tel jack. but has to be certified to work with unifi/maxis.

are you sure this had been tested. at which f/w revision. i know because support from asus is to unifi. only some f/w revision works flawlessly.
