Is this VoIP SIP compliant?

If can why not consider a soft based app for light users who doesn't want a real phone.

Also it only costs RM48 or RM68 to retain your copper TM fixed line with free monthly minutes.

RM20 for line rental if you don't make calls

Added on July 13, 2012, 5:05 pmAnyway quite curious, why is it that we can access VDSL modem and configure VLAN but can't do the same with fibre modem.

Hi,
I've flashed my Asus RT-N16 router to the latest Shibby's Tomato Firmware which supports VLAN 3 digits. I did not configure anything on the Huawei fibre box yet. Just plug the LAN2 to ASUS WAN port. But after configure the Asus VLAN and reboot and I'm having connecting stage. Any help is appreciated.

VLAN Profile 1 with VLAN ID:1 for all ports 1-4?
But your VLAN Profile 0 has correct VLAN ID with not ports assigned to it?

Have you configured your VLAN as on page 1 of this thread?

If YES then you don't even need to configure anything on the router page you're currently on because the port 3 on your Huawei BTU is already tagged with the VLAN ID.

Clear that page you showed and configure your to dial PPPoE out like your Streamyx and set DHCP as normal...Make sure your router WAN port is connected to port 3 of your BTU.

Delete all VLAN Profiles 0-2.Clear them.
If that is the case then set WAN as bridge and assign the VLAN ID to any ports. All under a SINGLE VLAN Profile.
Dial out as PPPoE as normal.
Save and Reboot. Check if internet connection is through.

So BTU is your modem, VLAN is tagged to ethernet packets for the specified port and your router makes the PPPoE connection.

MIGHT Not Work.

VoIP compatibility is not guaranteed.

Since you're using LAN port #2.

For VLAN # 0,
Set VID=621, Tag Port 2, Default and Bridge=WAN.

Configure the rest like your PPPoE account dialup and DHCP like your Streamyx.
Save and Reboot.

Actually I using klseet setting. I just do some testing on VoIP vlan. So that we can u other VoIP device or Thomson to connect the the phone, since tplink don't hv VoIP.

http://klseet.com/index.php?option=com_con...=143&Itemid=124
This is klseet website. U can refer. U just need to add and change the vlan setting.

Replacing your Thompson router with a 3rd party is what you want first?

Have you got your internet up yet?
Get it up first then think of how to make the VoIP work.

First of all you can't access the fibre ONT yet so you can't plug in 2 Thompson and 3rd party as you like since you need to tag ports to their respective VLAN IDs on your Huawei set. Without accessing its web screen, you can't do anything.

So what you can do is replace the Thompson router where it plugs in with the new Asus you have.

On V# 0
VID: 621
Port 2: Tick It & Have it tagged
WAN Port have it ticked but DON'T tag it
Check Default
Bridge: Set WAN from the pull down. (To allow your VLAN#0 access to WAN for internet)

Save and Reboot. Check if you have port 2 connected to your computer.

Based on your screen you connect your BTU(Huawei)-> TPLink
Then out of the 4 ports of the TP-Link,
You connect your computer to Port1(VID=621) for internet and the Thompson to Port 2 for VoIP(VID=822)?

Looks very messy unless you plan to do away with the VoIP alltogether and the Huawei web screen can't be touch.
Or you can find a replacement for the Thompson router with built in VoIP sockets and 3 digits VLAN ID.

The guide on the first page already have the VLAN ID tagged for you by the Huawei BTU based on specific ports, so you just plug in the other routers like usual.
