most probably there wont be any hack to the modem... it's TM property which i dun think we suppose to touch...
the other choice is to know the SIP server settings so that we can use a voip adapter (this is mention in the few post in front and not working at the moment)
IF everything going fine IPTV would not be a problem at all
*
Any one knows the sip server address of maxis voip ? Im trying the possiblity of using maxis voip on iOS and android mobile devices with media5 sip client.

What is the objective of connecting a custom router directly to TM modem other than weak wifi signal ?

1.better stability
2.more option that a advance user can play with & having full control of the router
3.already have a router that suits the users and dislike the thomson router

Thanks. Instead of connecting directly to TM modem, why not make use of any existing router, change the router connection type to AP mode then connect LAN to LAN with the Thomson and still have VoIP working + two wireless SSIDs or switch off the Thomson wifi radio ? Any disadvantage in this alternative option compare to the first option ?

bro i don't think that is so cooling , see here .. smile.gif  and as you can see it sits deep in the cab but still i'm able to get the signal downstairs in my dining area...

Perhaps the dining area is just right below the router and the signal is below 50% ??

Hi Guys,

Need your help  sad.gif . I'm not able to connect to the modem successfully  cry.gif . I even change the DNS as mentioned on this link but 192.168.1 still does not give me the Modem UI.

Trying to ping the IP 192.168.1.1 come out "Destination Host Unreachable". Any idea???

Please... I'm the victim of router out of stock after waiting for 2 months. Now I got the line but no router from Maxis.

If you can get online with the custom router, that means maxis already started your billing cycle without even providing you the thomson router ?

U know the SIP server address? And I guess you need to be in the correct VLAN.

I see in Thomson, there is a DHCP IP range for 192.168.10/0/24 defined for VoIP.

Please correct if I am wrong.

I'm not sure this is a correct ones but u can give a try.

Anyone here on landed property and manages to change to custom router; including VOIP on custom router - which totally eliminates the Thomson Router?

After reallocation I was given new units of modem (ONU terminal) + router setup: Huawei EchoLife HG8240w + Thomson Technicolor TG784n v3.

Just replaced the Thomson Router due to it's constant problem previously (and I hope it's solved now, else I'll be only left with the option of custom router).

I read that some manages to access their ONU terminal and configure VOIP directly on there; but too bad I could not access the ONU at all (even with direct LAN connection). That ONU's gateway is either disabled or something (can't even access the web configuration page even if I allocate myself with a fixed IP on the same subnet mask).

So my final hope only lies on custom router which can access both FTTH + VOIP (I don't use IPTV so it doesn't matter)

Do you need to pay maxis for the relocation ?
