u talking about the huawei hg850a rite. know what when i set my nic ip addr to 192.168.100.123 & subnet to 255.255.255.0. do a ping to 192.168.100.1. i got reply below.

reply from 192.168.100.1: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=64
reply from 192.168.100.1: bytes=32 time=2ms TTL=64
reply from 192.168.100.1: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=64
reply from 192.168.100.1: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=64
reply from 192.168.100.1: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=64
reply from 192.168.100.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64

however when i try to access the http://192.168.100.1. it cannot load the page. wondering if it's firewalled or we have to open the gui different port?

Arrgghhh that's too bad!  vmad.gif
Are any other suitable router that have phone ports like Thomson then?

sound like the Hg850a ONT is TM proprietary asset? maxis devices has to connected to their respective devices only.

if i can remember the recent installation & setup of my HG850a. tm tech configures it via notebook. the new equiptment was preconfigure i believe so. because he shows me the asset was new. but the box was opened before.

so when he goes to gui. he logs in using ***admin. there are few words before i can't remember. as for password is all fully numerics. which is to say they changed it before sending onsite. but i am not sure if the username & password posted on web forums will work.

looking back, seem like a vlan tagging switch was needed to access the gui. interestingly noted. the steps are very straight forward. except that during configuration by tm tech he does not need it. just plug direct to notebook. i mean lan to lan port.

all i want is to login to hg850a. the rest i know what to do. any findings will be shared.

Good luck figuring it out. If you can find out please do share. I could not find anything in this forum apart from the info this model is firewall blocked from accessing the firmware using common methods. I really do want to use my own router AND the VoIP at the same time.

Well, I will be trying out a few more things this weekend. Got an idea now after researching thru some forums but nothing guaranteed yet.

look like tm had made attempts to secure the hg850a. know why the can always charge rm200 per onsite visit. their contractor told me lotsa ppl doing monkeying with their devices. hence it's good money for them.

i found out the ip for hg850a was 192.168.100.1, yup u are correct it's firewalled.

i am so happy i get rid of the sickening dir-615.

tm unifi voip & deck phone is connected directly to Huawei EPON. the voip led shows green means your motorola phone is able to make calls & receiving calls.

the challenge now since the EPON is property of tm (NOT Maxis). it make sense why the maxis aztech deck has to connect to thompson wifi modem. which to say in order to replace the thomson device. it's not easy to find a compatible replacement device that comes with phone jacks.

if the EPON is centrally controlled. if u made changes to it. then it will revert to ori setting. meaning to say u have to reuse your ori device. i m not sure about this claim written out there.

however for unifi users. they can easily opt router replacement. without tampering thei Huawei EPON. only that the iptv still stick to LAN4 on the replacement router. if you opt use Asus devices for example. unifi has room for customization infact. ppl can opt other routers like tplink & etc if they wishes.. but has to be compatible. else the devices won't work else ended wasting money.

Actually got, just the price  rclxub.gif

price is not the main factor. what most importantly is compatibility & workability. that most important of all is will it meet users expectation?

in fact the most expensive device not actually has best compatibility.

i using d-link dvg-2001s

interesting, does it work. or you need to configure the adapter?

if it works along with customized router... we can kiss maxis thompson goodbye over their shitty overheating problems, wifi problems & free public wifi. because some ppl do see a user id "maxis" login to router. who the hell is that?

most probably there wont be any hack to the modem... it's TM property which i dun think we suppose to touch...
the other choice is to know the SIP server settings so that we can use a voip adapter (this is mention in the few post in front and not working at the moment)
IF everything going fine IPTV would not be a problem at all
*
you only have to access the tm huawei if u wanna attach the phone direct to device. or for unifi users shift their iptv from router there hehee.

from my observation during installation. they directly connect LAN to LAN port. which works perfectly. when the service is up & connected. i did try to access the gui. but it dissappears after bootup. darn they apply security settings to it.

it take time for manufacturer come out with a router with voip & tel jack. but has to be certified to work with unifi/maxis.

You can replace the router with Asus router, it will work.

are you sure this had been tested. at which f/w revision. i know because support from asus is to unifi. only some f/w revision works flawlessly.
