 Loius Italia Sofa, Anyone heard this brand?

Hi Guys,

I went to Home & Living Exibition at PISA Penang Yesterday. At 1st just plan to look around until cought by the Loius Italia Salesman. I just taking a look on their promotions as im planning to buy sofa for my new house as weel. But i didnt do any study on sofas yet. The offer 3+2 with 4 recliner sofa set for RM3990. After negotiation i ended up buying onli the 3 seater with 2 recliner for RM1980. Its half leather set with soft bovine leather. It comes with 6 years waranty for leather + stiching and frame. The salesman say it will take 4-6weeks to deliver. So i didnt think much and paid RM1000 deposit with my credit card.

After come back and research.. lots of ppl saying leather sofa will be hot and sticky for our climata. My living room no aircond but no direct sun light as well. do you think its a wise choise to get a lether sofa? if no is there anything i can do to change to fabric type?

please think twice when purchase from them.... their after sales service was sucks.... i order my sofa from them min sept 2012, the ppl in charge there promise me said the stock will be ready within 3weeks time. but who know i call them many times only got the sofa.

first i call them some where mid oct 2012, they said have to check with warehouse then call me back, but i wait the whole day also dun have any call from them. so i call them the next day, the ppl there told me the same thing again said they have to check with the factory first only can let me know. what the hell, that's mean the day before said will help me check is just cheated me lah, didnt check for me at all. but wait i wait until evening time, they still haven't call me back, so in the evening, i called them again, u know what answer i get? "sorry sir, i check with my factory first, let u know later, ok?"..... what the hell, i straight away scold them, then they said will check. what service is that??? after that they only call me back said the sofa have ready, what the hell la, promise me said can ready within 3weeks time, but now already 1month also cannot finish.

Nvm, as i am not urgent on the sofa, finally my sofa ready in november, its take 2months time for the sofa which they promise can be done in 3weeks times. such a big different. this is not the only issue, when i go made payment, they tell me that their credit card machine was not around, and is taken to use at fair, what the hell, such a big company only got one credit card machine??? what the hell.... i have to purposely go there again to just settle the bill??? yet their sofa is not cheap.

the story havent finish yet, during the delivery, they promise said will sent me the sofa on monday, but u know what, at the late evening on the day before, they suddenly call me that their lorry was fully booking, no more lorry, or lorry have to send thing to dunno where, what the hell, aren't they already early schedule fro transportation, WHY LAST MINUTE ONLY SAY CANNOT? yet if cannot make it why cant call early? Nvm, this is not the issue, they promise will sent the next day (tuesday) morning, yet what happen? i wait for whole moring yet they havent come, i called many times n their office no ppl answer my call. in the end, the lorry sent my sofa at 2pm? HELLO, 2pm is morning?

To all low yat forumer, my story with them havent end yet.

in early of this year, when i sit at my sofa, i suddenly fall down, u know what happen? one of the sofa leg was broken, what the hell, i just sit for 1months plus then the sofa was spoil??? what quality is that??? i checked the sofa i saw the wood inside was lapse.

this is not the main issue, the fantastic thing is i call them for warranty, yet the same thing happen, say will ask boss and call me back.... you all can guess what happen la, i wait the whole day, no response from them. call the next day, got the same answer... i feedup already, i ask them for their boss no, then i only got the result that they will sent ppl to come over to collect.

ok, now the interesting part, they promise will come on morning, i think you all can guess what had happen, i wait until 2pm, no ppl came. so i called them, at first the staff said they forget. what the hell la forget, then i start scold them. then the staff said their lorry got problem cannot come, what the hell man, ur lorry cannot come then no need to inform me? let me wait for whole day? fine, they promise, they come the next day, yet the promise come in early morning, 9am, so i that day urposely wakeup early morning just to wait them, u know what time they come? as usual late again 12pm only come....

so think twice, before purchase from them...

so did they manage to repair ur sofa?? or change new 1??mind to post the sofa photo here?
luckily they didnt entertain me when i go their shop last time....not a single sales person come to me....i even wait there..... sweat.gif lucky me....

Great sharing indeed. Almost going to buy from them through fair, lucky I hesitate. I think this is malaysia furniture style. Even Ikea delivery also damage by furniture.

i called them yesterday in the morning, no one pick up my call. after fews more attempt i get frustrated, so i directly call their boss, as modal answer, he said will checked first and get back to me. i think you all also can guess what it happen la, the whole day they din get back to me. Today i ask them, they just reply me a simple answer, next week. what the hell.... when do the payment, we need to pay on time, even have to pay before the delivery, but their services is sucks... keep on delaying....

It's. abt time u lodge a report with the consumer tribunal. Talk no use... Hit them hard... If ur case is genuine with all documentation in black n white, they are going down.

Yup their service suck!... i visited their show room. I went there to get their clearance set. Unfortunately they try too sell me their clearance set with the showroom price! Call them before go they said got more the 40 set to clear. go there this no that no more. then i ask what else you have for your clearance? left 2 set which is 2+3.. wtf...!!

Recently received an L-shape sofa from them, ordered from a fair last year.

Borderline acceptable in terms of service, for example, promised to call to confirm on a certain date and only called at night on the promised date.

Delivery wise, spoke to their sales people who tried to lower expectaions, advising delivery around 4:00pm. Delivery guys called later and told us will deliver around 2:00pm and that sales don't know about delivery...

Quality wise, very happy with the product so far. Hope that I do not have to review how good they are at fulfilling their warranty.

Haha.. So how's the condition of the sofa when they deliver? Is it good? I am just worry they will send over the lousy one and the after sales service are bad..

How u made the balance payment? They bring over the portable credit card machine? Or only by cash?

Sofa was in good condition. No complaints and nothing out of the ordinary. After sales not so sure as for my case, there was no reason for me to contact them... Payment was made in full by credit card at their showroom when finalizing the order (choosing fabric and colour etc).

For me I did not have much problem with Louis Italia other than the miscommunication of the actual delivery time between their sales and actual delivery. If really want to compare bad service and non-delivery, the worst furniture company I have ever dealt with is "CxCK-SxCK-RANO", which is a nightmare: staff can be rude and shout vulgarities at customers when it is their mistake.

Dear all,

Regarding the quality for louis italia sofa, i can say is not the best but still acceptable, at least is the same quality as their show room unit. But the durability wise, I have doubt on it, as my sofa was spoil in less than 3months times, but finally they still replace/repair my sofa to original condition.

Regrading their after sales service, I can tell you is damn terrible, they will cause many of your brain cells death before you can get your warranty done. somemore their delivery system is sucks, always delay and not on time, they thing that we are 24/7 stand-by for them.

regarding their stock clearance, do not get cheated by them, as i see all along the year they also doing stock clearance, but yet the sample in the show room is the same for all along the years. as almost 90% of the unit are the same (compare from 2011 and 2013), yet i meet them few time in the furniture fair already, yet they are still selling the same design but they claim that is their latest design, material is import from oversea...

I already fall into their trap, if you ask my advise, i will said i will not ever go back to them to buy their product, as their product not very cheap (yet cheaper than those branded sofa la...). Kindly think twice before get into their product, if you think is worth, then go ahead.

touch wood the sofa is still okay for now ... they said got 6 yrs warranty on everything including cushion, frame and material.

Btw, their staff isn't efficient at all, you need to keep calling and remind them.
No sense of responsibility at all.

Dun know why so many negative comment for Loius Italia, I bought a sofa from them and from buying till delivery no problem at all, I just told them 2 weeks in advance when i want the sofa and they deliver it on that day

just wanna share. i also bought a l-shape leather sofa from them at the fair. delivered to me after 1 month +, in may. i like the sofa. quality ok (surface) on sewing, leather, design. didnt invest into the inner part. not sure about the wood used.

agreed on the bad delivery service, didnt come at promised time, but 2 hours later.

I bought sofa and bean bag from Louis Italia.
Less than a year, the bean bag koyak already. I wondering bean bag got one year warranty or not.
Now I worry the sofa might not last long as well.

call several time to confirm the delivery date, but still ok

has informed the lorry man to call me before arrive my condo, so i didnt waste too much time to wait them at home (i told them to call me before coming to me house, it will tooks about 20 mins for me to back home, lorry man was understandable)

quality not bad with this price range
so far after 1 year, no defect or any complaints

I am another Victim, believe empty promise from them again...said deliver saturday, I wait wait wait and wait whole day....didnt call me at all till we call them several times...answered by them was suck!@ 3 weeks already....keep call n chase....but still get standard answer from them "Will check with factory" WTF~!!!

Really think twice b4 go to Louis Italia...their price not cheap also!!!

ya..same here. i ordered the sofa in december and i ask can they deliver in a month time. the sales guy said no problem, will deliver within a month and even put an earlier date for me. End up, no one call me the day before. So i called and check. they tell me my sofa is not ready. I was like wtf...i gave you later date and u ownself put earlier date. now the sofa is not ready. So i called and complained. after a week, they deliver sofa without the 3 free pillow. so i call the delivery guy (daniel) again and he told me no worries, he will put the 3 pillow in his car and deliver to me using his car. so i waited and there is no phone call from him. i keep calling and sms no reply.

actually i don't really care bout the free pillows, i just feel if u promise me something, you should deliver it. so i called their customer service and their customer service sucks! the girl was like entertaining saying i don't know anything wor...what you want me to do wor? i can help you pass message only lor... i was like what crappy customer service is this???
so this morning i call this daniel again. no pick up. so i called the customer service number 012 3710 618. this daniel picked up the phone. I asked why you never pick up your phone. his answer is "oh i didnt see it and i'm too busy" i said you can reply me when you are free, right? he said.." i only free after work and i don't reply customer after office hour" i was like FFFFFF U....then he said their factory no pillow. but i asked " you said you keep the pillow in the car and wanted to deliver me that day". He said " ya..and then i take out". Then I asked what kind of crappy company is louis italia. He answered " you can make a complain through our website.

I feel this whole company is crappy and the staff is like shit. So, please stay away from purchasing their product!

the story havent finish yet, during the delivery, they promise said will sent me the sofa on monday, but u know what, at the late evening on the day before, they suddenly call me that their lorry was fully booking, no more lorry, or lorry have to send thing to dunno where, what the hell, aren't they already early schedule fro transportation, WHY LAST MINUTE ONLY SAY CANNOT? yet if cannot make it why cant call early? Nvm, this is not the issue, they promise will sent the next day (tuesday) morning, yet what happen? i wait for whole moring yet they havent come, i called many times n their office no ppl answer my call. in the end, the lorry sent my sofa at 2pm? in early of this year, when i sit at my sofa, i suddenly fall down, u know what happen? one of the sofa leg was broken, what the hell, i just sit for 1months plus then the sofa was spoil??? what quality is that??? i checked the sofa i saw the wood inside was lapse.

this is not the main issue, the fantastic thing is i call them for warranty, yet the same thing happen, say will ask boss and call me back.... you all can guess what happen la, i wait the whole day, no response from them. call the next day, got the same answer... i feedup already, i ask them for their boss no, then i only got the result that they will sent ppl to come over to collect.

ok, now the interesting part, they promise will come on morning, i think you all can guess what had happen, i wait until 2pm, no ppl came. so i called them, at first the staff said they forget. what the hell la forget, then i start scold them. then the staff said their lorry got problem cannot come, what the hell man, ur lorry cannot come then no need to inform me? let me wait for whole day? fine, they promise, they come the next day, yet the promise come in early morning, 9am, so i that day urposely wakeup early morning just to wait them, u know what time they come? as usual late again 12pm only come....

so think twice, before purchase from them...

I would have thought the after sales service at Louis Italia would have improved after so much complaints over the yrs. I have bought furnitures right from the high end brands to small furniture outlets but never have I experienced such appallingly BAD after sales service as from Daniel, the Customer Service from Louis Italia.
The King Bed I purchased from the fair at Viva Home was as usual paid in full before delivery.
It was delivered to me with defects. I refused to accept initially but was assured by Daniel that he will help me resolve it in a week's time.
A week passed and after many reminders and phone calls, he not only did not turn up as per the agreed date but ignored my phone calls and messages altogether.
A month has passed and 1 message I received from him was to resolve it myself with Aristocrat.
There was no contact details nor further details provided.

Please take heed before buying from them should you expect any after sales service or warranty from Louis Italia.

I am also another victim.
Called on 5th May to start my order. Staff told me 3 weeks till deliver. 4th week no news so i called to check. They said havent start doing my sofa because kastam hold their leather goods and promise me 18 June will get sofa. Now is 22 June and still no news so called again they say still in production because May got lots of public holiday and no electricity on May. And the manager can tell me that i called to start my order on 28 May. Bullshit at its finest.
My guest will all have to sit on the floor and plastic chairs during my house warming thanks to Louis Italia. So they promise to send latest by 28 June with free gift. We will see how that goes.
If they deliver some poor quality sofa to me..... i will definitely bring this case to the Consumer Tribunal.

Got the same set as you too tongue.gif So far didn't encounter any problems with the sales/delivery service, been using the sofa for more than 1 year already. Mine took about 1 month for them to manufacture when i called in to place the order (book it during one of the home fairs), as CNY was just around the corner. Paid 50% deposit using credit card when made the booking, and the remaining 50% paid by cash during delivery of the sofa set. So far delivery went smoothly...didn't purposely wait for them coz was busy with other things at that time (overseeing kitchen cabinet fittings, etc).

requested for the seat to be only 25% firm, they make it 50% firm which is okay la acceptable since it took them forever to deliver.... i dont want to even think about sending the sofa back to make the seat less firm.
They promised free gift of 2 pillows and 1 leather cleaner... both cushion pillows are of different color and texture and delivery guy tell me "leather cleaner out of stock.... office tak bagi tau ka?"
But it was printed in the invoice. So if your free gift is out of stock, you can choose to give other things like extra cushion pillows right? maybe another one of their gimmick to keep you waiting happily. Biasa la duit sudah ambik... u think they want to entertain you for a free gift that's missing?

Anyways.... this is the first and last time i am buying from Louis Italia. The sofa built is okay so far.... using it for less than a week. No defects, quality is good. Only problem is their service is totally lousy. Maybe customers from KL wont see this as their factory is in KL. But its just bad.......

I was promised by your staff that the set of sofas would be delivered on 25th February 2014 and that there would be a 10% discount as compensation for the delays and failures to deliver.

There was no delivery on 25th February 2014. There was no calls from your company or staff either. I called your company on 27th February 2014 and was told that delivery could not be made as the set of sofas was not ready. This was due to leather / cow hide issues for the chosen leather colour. Oh...unbelievable! AND a new delivery date of 8th March 2014 from you now!

For all I can say, your customer service (if there is) is horrible. Every time I had to call your staff to check on the delivery date. Your staff had not called me prior to the dates even knowing very well that delivery could not be made.

How your company could survive till today really beyond my imagination. I would not hesitate to share my experience with others.

They delivered in March 2014.

I am in furniture retail for for many year.

Through my experience in furniture retail I could possible guess the reason of their delay.

For local factory to produce a sofa the delivery date is approximate 2 week to 3 weeks

If your product is from China it properly took longer time than expected. it normally at faster is 1 month latest is 2 months depending on the process.

and there is no such thing as leather is cover for 6 years warrant. even Lorenzo or rozal who sofa is using 100 percent bovine leather only cover 1 year warrant for leather.

If the company say 6 year warranty on sofa. make sure the receipt or warranty card is stated 6 years warranty on LEATHER not just 6 year warranty and make sure it indicated at the receipt

Mine from MIVA furniture the sofa set even worst ......once arrive next morning i wake up see being eaten by termite or woodworm .....my floor all those wood bits and the sofa is being placed at my new house some-more with a lot of other new furniture around.

Complain till HQ claiming want to sue them if they had spread termites to my new house. Dont their factory or warehouse had pest control carried out ?

Kimak them ...sofa made with cheap lightweight plywood and some sponge cushion charging rm7k

When I bought the set, the sales person told me that 6-year warranty for material and workmanship. They will come to inspect and repair if the job is minor, otherwise, they will bring back to their factory at no transportation charges.

Bovine leather is just some cheapo leather. You want good quality leather, you look for genuine cow hide leather, nothing less.

Of the set is new. I think they have to waive the charges for transport and possible exchange for new set. No reason to activate warranty since they defect is due to manufacturing fault

I had the problem on their leather started to peel off and he told me only cover for manufacturing defect. I told him it is not caused by customer as I will not go and peel it or make it damage. Just got it delivered to my house in April this year and less than 4 months usage. I ask him to send someone to come and see it physically for a better view of the leather peel off. now very pek cek...

After some delay, I finally packed my RH seat of the 3-seater recliner into my mini MPV and drove to look for the factory located in Kg Baru Subang last Saturday. I called the hotline (017-xxxxx) first and was told by one Sharon to contact Ms Shirley when I reach the factory.

The factory, more like a godown, is located in a secluded area. Next to it is a recycle factory for old CPU and some electrical stuff. I met Ms Shirley but she was not informed by Sharon of Louis Italia, then another man in his 50's who identified himself as Chee asked his workers to check and confirmed that the noise was due to spring rubbing against the metal frame of the recliner. They have to remove the cushion to do the repair, but as there was power outage, work could not be carried out.

Apparently, Chee is the owner of the factory (Atrina SofX DesXXn). Louis Italia was run a young couple who collect orders and then channel to factories for fabrication. One of them is Atria Design. It allows Louis Italia to use the address of the Atria Design sofa factory in Kg Subang . I highlighted the issues with my order and the warranty issues after. And I was told that I was among the many who complained, all due to the way the customers were handled by the staff of Louis Italia and some empty promises made by the sales staff.

Chee told me that they (Atrina SofX DesXXn ) would handle small warranty issues on site if they were informed by Louis Italia, if the sofas need to be taken back to their factory, the customers need not pay for transportation.

On the 6-year warranty coverage, it does not cover the leather. However, if the stitches are torn, they will undertake the warranty repair within the 6-year period.

I went for my lunch as there was still power outage. While I was having my lunch, Shirley called to inform that there was still power failure. So I requested them to send the sofa to my house after repair.

more and more ppl are going to be conned by LI it seems.

So from what you gathered, Louis Italia basically is just a middleman. Getting orders and getting supplies from various factories?
By the way i just got my sofa from louis italia.
It is a fabric L-shaped sofa with reclining headrests
Have not used it yet so i can't comment on the quality
But i do have a big issue with their delivery service. I waited for more than 6hrs for them to send the sofa, which they did not. So i had to go back home, only to be woken up at 1130pm by the driver asking if they can send it then!
We only managed to get our sofa sent the next day after a shouting match with the driver.
With such lousy service i definitely would not recommend them to anyone

To put it into proper perspective, louis Italia is an independent set-up which collects orders and then channels to factories for facbrication. Deliveries would be undertaken by the factories.

So I was told by Chee that the factory needs 3 weeks leadtime for the fabrication of sofas. If there are many back orders, more time is needed. He admitted that there was manpower issue previously around yearend.

My piece of sofa was sent to my house last night by the Atria Design's delivery lorry.

I'm glad I do not have delivery problem with them. My sofa arrived safely and with minimal time delay (2 hours)....

Glad to have come across this post..I'm blacklisting Louis Italia. Those of you currently facing delivery issues with them should threaten them with Consumers Tribunal. They shouldn't be allowed to continue their lousy delivery. A few delayed deliveries once a while due to unforeseen circumstances I can understand but it seems that too many customers are having to put up with their crappy attitude and delivery issues. They don't care and still happily taking orders from other innocent victims. Stop giving business to them already.

I ordered my sofa from them during homedec. Called them one month in advance to advise on delivery date. After 3 weeks they called back to arrange delivery, say will send sofa to me on the 22nd September (Monday). So my wife took a day off to wait at home, but never arrived. Not even a courtesy phone call from them. When I gave them a call to screw them, they keep pushing the ball around. Say they didn't say will deliver on 22nd (WTF???). Then say the fabric got delay etc..all kinds of crap. Then i ask them to advise when is the next delivery date & time as i can't sit at home whole day to wait for them. Then they say will deliver on saturday, but don't know what time. End up i liaise with the driver about the delivery time and not the stupid customer service. My first and my last experience with them and will not recommend anyone to buy from them in future.

Pls do not buy any sofas or tables from Louis Italia. It has been a bad company from last time from the feedbacks in this forum and till now. Can u imagine how many ppl are still out there those not venting in low yat forum .....MAJOR PROBLEMATIC LOUIS ITALIA the Staffs are so lousy and irritating after sales order. Everything normal at first before and when u place your order then you will have no furnitures for months n might be till a year plus even after agreement.

1. The sales ppl only want to collect full payment before delivery and do not know when the delivery is. They would give a standard answer of 3 weeks but u gotto wait longer and the ware house girl named Stella is bluntly rude and seriously sarcastic.

2. The sales ppl will not pick up your calls or help u to check your orders from the warehouse. They will also messed up your orders, color for table n chairs all wrong even after sales confirmation and full payment even with prove of photos shown n given. I ordered my set from Yong from Louis Italia in Viva home , he laughed when I asked him where was my furnitures that I have waited for months and told me he would check the warehouse but as usual, didn't follow up and next didn't dare to pick up my call and I gotto call the warehouse .

3. The warehouse Stella will not hear or clarify your orders, she prefers the customers to listen n bow down to her indifference. Then she simply sent another color sofa n table and will not want to confirm the order first as she is rude she felt there is no need to do that and she also wouldn't know whether the lorry driver can send out or not ??? It's a company with poor management. Basically, they are lousy. So don't expect and don't even deal with them ever.

4. After months of waiting, I thought my set has arrived finally. It was the wrong set . The lorry driver told me it was their usual flaws so he took back. I thought I'd received my order the next day as they promised but when I called Stella and told her about the table was also not my choice as I had ordered through Yong based on the photo exactly the same with the set I wanted and he actually promised that before my full payment. There is not a single word of sorry for their mistakes up to many months.

She can laugh it off together with the sales man named Yong , from March to May , I still don't know when they want to send. It is up to their mercy . Even as when they promised, they don't do it . I feel so sorry with my family as is a sad experience as we still do not have a living set to sit on after paying around RM4k just for 2 recliners .

I am also traumatised to call , after being bullied and laughed by over the phone and to wait without them being apologetic even with all the mistakes and delay. If it comes, it comes. If it doesn't come at all, it serves another lessons to all and everyone in Malaysia not to make any purchases with this irresponsible nut case workers in the company. Even the 'nicest of them all ' is the lorry driver , he too will not pick up calls when expected to come again to send the right order.

Unless you like being bullied and hear a lot of blames and excuses afterwards then buy their sofas and suffer / increase your blood pressure . There is no business at all. More like a torture for customers who have paid , you are not even entitled to your own sofa set that u have paid for. Be careful , pls walk away from unethical unfair businesses

The reason why these staffs are rude it's because they are trained since so many customers have complaint before , they sd they are not afraid . Pls everyone, let your friends and families know. There are other good furniture shops who really show dignity and integrity in their business values. Damn Louis Italia for having such a deceiving fancy names with staffs who are even worse than nightclub operators. Close to a scam .
They are behaving so proud and rude even when they are at fault
1. Failure to deliver on time . Late for 2-3 months in most cases after argue,eng's with their customers.
2. Giving excuses and shifting the blames around up to the lorry driver is also not spared...poor management and staffs with huge attitude problems, they will only be normal when u are making your purchases and orders but after u have placed deposit/make full payment and expecting delivery, u will be treated like a fool.

Their manner in treating you is as though they are glad that they took your money and punish you by holding your furnitures and do not pick up calls, do not follow up with your orders, don't even know what u ordered though u sent again n again and if Stella is pressed to promise a delivery date, again another 3 weeks as after 2 months of sending the wrong set of furnitures, then only they will take their own time to rectify and book leather skin , so just wait for don't know how long again. That also Stella didn't want to acknowledge the orders. Scary isn't it !!


3. This is my first time and will be my last time dealing with them . Should I write in for a full refund or just wait having an empty living hall for months? I hope everyone knows about their sales tactic and lies. moreover, their new arrival is also not new, more than a year of display they are still charging the same high price. U pay high with your life too because dealing with them is a waste of time. The money is better given to people who runs their furniture business properly and these ppl definitely do not deserve to have any business so that they can manage their lorry driver timing well and start from doing it right with proper customer service.

Hi jeryt82 may I know how's your case with Louis Italia now? Did you manage find them? I'm in the same situation as you. Full payment make in year 2014 and now want them to deliver the sofa but cannot find them cry.gif cry.gif Do you have their contact number?
