ok that rm35 i think should be 3 smd pairs, right? and as well u got foglamps? i just need foglamps to support the dim headlamps, not truly serve it as foglamps (just like its name), as well not for cosmetics, seriously for brightening roads.

i dun budget much for it as the car isnt a new car and i dun think the security at my neighbourhood is good. i stay in a flat, open space carpark. u got budget foglamps? square types.

Abang SiuYi, I just realized how serious you wanted the foglamp for brightening issues blink.gif I had to agree with shorty & V12k that cheap lamps will do you no good. The 1st reason is, regardless its a H3 or H7, the light coverage are limited to 3 feet radius due to bad reflection. The brightness is scattered everywhere and it affect opposite direction vehicle's vision. If u adjust it downward, visibility will be even nearer than 3 ft(might as well dun pasang).

2nd reason is, high power/HID bulb generate high heat, cikai fog lamp can't stand the heat. Either u melt it or it gets dried & crack, so u can use it as aquarium. Normally cheap fog lamps I will apply epoxy to seal off the damn thing, then use low watt yellow bulb to project close range vision, this serve the purpose of anti fog vision. Been doing this to my previous WIRA, KE20, 328, Gancil 660, soon my BLM.

Ultimate solution for your iswaga, I got myself a pair of LMST headlights for RM230/pair. Cut 1 wire for the parking lamp only.

QUOTE(davidke20 @ May 20 2012, 11:56 PM)
I have no warranty. Call me a jerk, but my finding as below:

1) Got my car with screeching brake noise from the back. It consistently behave like this every now and then. As long as the car stationary for more than 2 hours, then the sound appear. Bring the car out, did several side brake drift, now its gone(so does my tyres blush.gif )

2) After I got rid of the brake screeching sound, another annoying weird sound appeared like something knocking back/forth when I hit/release brake hard, especially during cold start in the morning/late evening. I practice left foot braking(learn from Initial D Knight Kids Civic) to grind my brake pads, and it doesn't help much. Whenever its cold, the annoying sound came back. I drove to my mech ask him to release handbrake tension, now I no longer hear the brake sound anymore, but hand brake tarak makan anymore, need to pull atleast 5 tick to secure the car.

According to my mech, the handbrake cable is toooooooo damn loose(design problem). If tighten to normal handbrake angle, such as 2 ticks full stop, then the brake cylinder will be in tension even the brake is released. This is the cause of the screeching sound. Another problem is, since the brake cylinder in tension, after the brake pads grinds in well, the gab between the drum and the shoe is widen. Whenever brake/release can hear the cylinder pull back hard since the brakes is in tension.

Reason we advise people to claim is, since covered by warranty, might as well claim. If after warranty, will you still change brake pad every 3 months? I don't think so. If you really can't stand it, just let loose your handbrake a little bit. That should be fine already. By the way, found drum brake sets for RM45 at SOLO MOTOR in Sri Kembangan + RM10 labor charge at tyre shop across the street.

nice one davidke20. rclxms.gif
davidke20 mentioned the brake issue happen every now and then shakehead.gif , which is a very annoying problem if i am on the car. vmad.gif
this is the best comment/advice i've been looking for. not trying to complain proton, jz want to know the solution or new batch of saga with no such issues, of cos prefer the latter.
want to clarify something here: is releasing the hand brake tension able solve the drumbrake issue?!
what if i tend to own CVT auto which uses P to park & lock car tyre, so i wont very much relying on hand brake, right?
can the handbrake cable replaced? roughly how much it cost? will this solve the whole problem then?

again, thank davidke20 for comment.

I think his point was, there shouldn't be any brake problems in the first place. No problem, no complaint

Nope. Have tried loose, have tried tight. Even if the sound goes away, it will eventually return.

Hi & Good morning, Everyone!! notworthy.gif

From most of posts involving probs in Proton cars, believe mostly due2 Vendors trying 2make highest profits from supply of parts.
This, indirectly, is due2 low prices offered by Proton. Yup, it's that "vicious" cycle in material world in Life.
No escape wan. sad.gif

If lucky, there wld b those few vendors who are happy enuf with minimal profit margin but more emphasis on integrity in their ventures. If so, then that batch of cars wld get better made parts. tongue.gif

In ole Saga days, it was widely known that there were 2 groups of vendors...a better supplier for higher end variants! rolleyes.gif
As such, buyers of lower end variants eg std specs cars, wld b fitted with lower quality items supplied @lower costs...thus more probs. sad.gif

However, it now appears it's a totally new scenario cos even top end variants eg FLX SE also suffer similar fate!!
Phew... doh.gif sweat.gif

Added on May 21, 2012, 10:21 amps. Me sympathise with all Bros hving drum brake probs.
Drum brakes are "ancient" tech. Frankly there shld b NO probs watsoever being very ole tested tech.
So only obvious reason is low quality item supplied by vendor!! For FLXs! Cos no such probs faced by BLMs/FLs.... sad.gif

perhaps, those parts vendor being selected based on car range with consideration of cost mostly. cry.gif
anyway, i'm impressed by saga cvt series which makes me want to own one. drool.gif even perodua doesnt have it.
hahaha... think i need to be patient a bit till the issues gone... will its? hmm.gif

Yup, the Saga is truly Value for $$$$ car of good reasonably up2date tech specs. thumbup.gif

If only vendors given tender 2supply parts are of more integrity & responsibility when earning a living, then Proton cars wld b a very good choice!

Unfortunately, that has NOT been the case... sad.gif

Wld the present probs go away? hmm.gif

Mayb with vendors who hv a conscience & integrity when making profits....??

Your guess as good as anyone's... rolleyes.gif

Hv a good week, Bro! smile.gif

my budget is not high for those foglamps actually. i dun wanna spend more than rm70 for those things as it wont be a part-of-the-life thing. im aware it wont be bright yet i just need it to shine at least just the front part of the car. i might be a cheapskate, but il try with the cheapo foglamp 1st and see how it goes, if it fails il change to something similar to hella. smile.gif

the possibility those problems gone is 50:50, jz a wild guess. some may think, it's not possible while i think the possibility still there.
since most of the saga faces the same stupid issues, proton (or DRBHCOM) will look into it as the FOC warranty cost to them is relatively higher than replacing a quality one to buyers/saga owner. of cos subject to not the saga design issue. i dont think proton really willing to pay those FOC warranty for free for 3 years while under warranty which is very very costly to them (in the view of management, if i am one. hahahah.).

as a saga owner, sure we'll make use those 3 yrs warranty to replace anything has problem as frequent as possible so we'll feel value for money, rite? hahahaa.... at the same time irritated with it.

i did left a msg to proton edar FB on the issues as well, but dont think they will reply to nobody. hahaha. laugh.gif

You're right, the only noise I expect to hear from the car are from the engine, wind and tyre. Any other squeal, rattling dan lain-lain will crank me up. I'm just glad that after 19 months and 39,000 km, the only problem I had was a broken gear spring, which was fixed at the next service.

You know, I wonder if DRB Hicom's recent purchase of Proton will have any effect on quality, because I read somewhere that DRB will change a lot of the suppliers to their own ones.
