The pictures above told the whole story. As i bought the laptop on that day, it immediately got issue on temperature. When i walk-in to the Asus Service center, i am attended with a young technician. As i thought that is this young technician can handle my case???? Did he qualified??? Frankly speaking, i totally got no confidence on that young man. The technician just roughly take a look on the laptop and said that nothing can be done by now due to no parts at the moment and need to send the parts from KL. And i asking for new unit replacement due to i just bought this laptop few days back and is really unfair to me cos i bought this laptop few days back. then i asking for person in charge. The technician answer me that the manager is out for lunch. Later around 15min, the manager came back. Wow...... The look of the manager are more worst..... This guy is in around late 20's, untidy cloths, red hair and the hand with tattoo, it seems like rockstar or a tai kor gangster. The Manager named RICKY. But any way i still bring out my cases see that is he got any better solution for me. But.... with Roughly, he answer me that nothing he can do to me, cos the his boss from KL not to allow his to do this and that... Any thing i request, he just push the responsibility to KL. At the end..... I have to let them screw on my new bought laptop. What type of spare parts that they gonna use???? After market spare parts??? Re-cond parts??? Who know??? But what i really sure is my laptop never gonna be the same any more. My laptop no longer in new. My laptop been screwed-up.

As what i see today, I feel that there is no quality on Asus. Who can believe that a new laptop got temperature issue.... This must be a used or Re-cond laptop.

About their service, OMG, i think they should employed qualified technician to handle on the warranty case. Or maybe they should hire gangster to fully in charge on their Service Centre. So nobody dare to walk-in to their Service Centre and they can Reach 0% complain.

As conclusion, I vote NO CONFIDENCE ON ASUS PRODUCT.

Sorry to hear of your issue man sad.gif
Seems like Asus Malaysia is focused more on marketing their products rather than everything else; and since their products are pretty attractive, many uninformed ones will definitely fall for them. Its okay if nothing break downs, but when they do... then that's when all the problems starts sad.gif

All HDD in the world are manufactured by 3 brands: Seagate, Western Digital, Toshiba.
All the HDD in laptops has the same form factor (same shape (height, length, width)).

I don't know what procedure Asus Malaysia SC has to follow, but it definitely won't take me 2 weeks to change a HDD at home laugh.gif

so, you think Manufacturer such as Asus, Dell , Lenovo will buy retail hdd to replace in for customer ? other then Seagate, wd, and toshiba, thats some OEM hardisk manufacturer such as Samsung, Hitachi ok ? shakehead.gif usually if no oem hdd in their stock , they will order from Asus taiwan, it will take 3~7 days for whole process, and you sure is really takes 2 week ? biggrin.gif some end user like exaggerate their situation so would other think they are right in every aspect

first at all , you should tell us what exactly has happen on your laptop ? what think in your mind that the unit have issue on temperature ? if u suspect it is, how sure u on which part in the laptop got problem causing this ? if you are not an expect , just send in services center and let them diagnose, if you would not like to do that, why not send back to the place that you bought , ask them have a help ?

secondly , who give you right to judge a person even he is young and look immature ? does a person look reflect his attitude and ability ? so you think all the people wear smart and luxury are very professional ? have you ever met a scam person drove BMW ? hmm.gif how u sure they will replace recond parts or after market spare parts for you ? you not even let them repair instead of keep judging their out look doh.gif

Please check your fact on HDD manufacturers smile.gif
Those 3 brands account for > 90% of HDD production in the world smile.gif (You are in lala land thinking Samsung and Hitachi still produce HDD. Sold their HDD business already smile.gif )
Asus definitely does not produce HDD.
And there is no HDD manufacturer in Taiwan anymore smile.gif (The supply chain of HDD is a complicated business, but the final assembly (manufacture) of HDD is concentrated in a few countries in Asia: Thailand (that's why when Thailand flooded, HDD price jumped all over the world), China, Malaysia .... )

In fact, this is a challenge to you: Show me a HDD manufactured in Year 2013 (a picture will do) that is not from those 3 brands. Otherwise, stop the crap, will you? smile.gif

@finger6, perhaps you can share some temperature screenshots with us, so that the sifus here could warn potential buyers notworthy.gif

@androidfans
Based on my experience, sending back to the shop where we bought the notebook will not help; since they will encourage you to send the notebook back to Asus service center yourself; or they will help you (sometimes even with a surcharge) to send back to Asus service center for diagnosis and if needed, repairs nod.gif The 2nd method is of course, more expensive and slower due to the involvement of another party.

By right we shouldn't judge a person by its cover. But we are not exactly judging any normal person now are we? As a representative of Asus, one of the most important brands of the year, some professionalism is definitely expected, regardless of how good that person is. If 1st impressions are not important, why do we still need to be properly dressed for interviews?
Still, by writing this I'm assuming that finger6 has not exaggerate or recognize the wrong person as the manager la tongue.gif

First of all, after playing the laptop for 15mins, the laptop is start over heating, after another 30mins the laptop just shut down. If u ask me exactly what going on with this laptop, The Asus Royal Club should tell me what is going on with my laptop. I will on base on what i hear, what i feel. and i did report to the tech i feel that i am not the right person who answer the question.

Secondly, now days even the most famous nasi kandar are wearing uniform to taking order from customer, and since Asus is a premium brand in computer field, so shall they at least wearing uniform and wearing proper shoes during attending customer??? About the reconds parts, this information from RICKY during our argument . Don't believe it??? Pls go and figure out.... If u can't check out, means that u are not in to that level yet, boy!!! One more thing, do u think a young man in the age of mid 20's really can repair a laptop properly. Finish high school on 18...... Finish Colleging..... 20++. So how many Sifu he been follow??? How many laptop he been repair??? Count it..... Boy!!!

The first part show that you are probably ignorant of how warranty service work. Retail shop that sell laptop, when the laptop is still in warranty, will not repair the laptop even if they manage to diagnose the problem. They will always send the laptop back to the brand to claim warranty. So, it is also better for user to directly send the faulty laptop back to the SC of the brands, because the retail shop may take their own sweet time to send to SC.

Your second paragraph has major flaw in logic smile.gif
If you own your own business, no body care how you conduct it. Lots of multi millionaire in Malaysia run their business wearing sweatshirts and slippers smile.gif
In this case, we are talking about Asus, a multinational. The SC and warranty service represent an important client facing functions of an international brand. For a "manager" to dress sloppily and talk roughly with customer is definitely a no no.
Nobody here is talking about "smart and luxury", or "scam person that drove BMW". We are talking about a standard of services a consumer expect to receive from a SC of a major international laptop brand.
