Asus fan here. But not trying to defend Asus. My wife bought Asus laptop, less than 2 month, keyboard start to show symptom of illness. I sent to Asus Centre at Kuching, took 2 weeks, keyboard changed and no problem at all until today. The only problem, they didn't inform me that the laptop are ready for pick up. Luckily I give them a call because my wife need to go back to Melaka tomorrow. I ask them why no call from Asus Centre. They give excuse that they might give a call but I'm not answer. I said I wait their call for 2 weeks. I ask when the laptop arrive but they just said that's why we give our phone number for your inquiry. I don't mind for his answer but they should give me a call when the laptop are ready for collect. Damn Asus!
Out of topic but just sharing. And for Acer (I'm Acer fanboy too), luckily I take 3 years warranty. Sent for repair for 2 times at Kuching (Highpoint) but flickering problem still persist. The best part, I noted that my battery changed, and some screw are missing, and flickering problem still persist. At 2011, I work at Miri. My laptop having another symptom of illness (flickering screen, AGAIN!), sent to Miri Acer Centre (Highpoint too) and my laptop rock for 2 years without issue until I trade in with Toshiba laptop this month.
I think warranty issue is more to where you send your laptop. Might be different service at different location. Some say MSI service are not good, but my friend took only 1 working day to change his ram.
Enquiries/Recommendations ASUS BAD WARRANTY SERVICE, DO NOT BUY ASUS!!
