Most? Did you count them? 100 ppls? 1000 ppls ? >9000 bajillions?

I've used/owned 7 laptops (including work) in the past 5 years but never had the chance to go to service center or shop for repair. Bad luck for me mang. sad.gif

^ One does not simply wait for Asus CS call. Bombard them with calls every freaking week for warranty status.

QUOTE(farkingdom @ Feb 24 2013, 07:47 AM)
He said there are no drivers to install for Windows 8 to test if the components are really broken. So they gave up immediately upon seeing my OS which is Windows 8. I asked them doesn't Windows 8 has backward compabilities, they said drivers are different.
I did ask them to show me the terms and condition, and he pointed out 'third party software'. I argued with him that Microsoft product is third party? I bought Windows 8 using my own money.
Then he said they will only repair if I flash it with the original Windows 7 back with all the drivers intact. What????? Now I have to go through all the trouble to flash it back, when obviously many components are already broken when I'm using Windows 7. They said I don't have proof.  mad.gif

that's ridiculous, better bring this case to the consumer claim tribunal.

Another day with Asus SC shenanigan, this laptop was just 2 weeks old before i sent to Asus SC because of LCD/LVDS cable problem. Took them over 3 weeks to fix it and they managed to dent the right corner of this fairly new laptop. A very happy customer here. rclxms.gif

u actually can demand new notebook same value or model" but before and after picture is needed with stated date on the picture... so i reccomend to take pic as proof each time  you bring to Asus customer care...  blush.gif

All the idiotic replies come back in one line:

"The screen is not covered by warranty"

Thinking of taking this claim to the consumer tribunal - think I have a chance?
*
from my experienced, Asus shiat brix pretty quickly when they heard Consumer Tribunal. Do it.

Contacted them through email and a guy from service centre request me to SEND MY LAPTOP IN AGAIN which I rejected straight even though I've screenshot and proof to him that it is not activated. Replied him asking him to send the codes to me instead of me giving another visit. Currently waiting his reply to proceed to next step.

Total months of struggling: 8 months
Total visits: 4 times and counting...  doh.gif
Total calls unstated: > 30 to NCCC, Asustek & etc.
Total time wasted: Lost count.. Time to backup data is a headache...  doh.gif

THEREFORE THINK! BEFORE YOU BUY ANY ASUS PRODUCTS! BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK

If your laptop come original with Window 8 then they don't know your key because it's embedded into your motherboard. Either you send it back to them or use software to retrieve the key and input it yourself.

Use pkeyui.

I did 3 screenshots of the unactivated windows as proof and sent them already.

Tried your method and I did get a key. However when I key in again to activate again, it still shows me the same error as what I've screenshot and sent them below. Really fed up with them edi.  vmad.gif  vmad.gif  vmad.gif  vmad.gif

"The activation server has determined the specified product key has been blocked."

Thanks for your help bro. But unfortunately none of it works.  doh.gif

God knows what these guys at Asus are doing giving me a windows that has a blocked key.  mad.gif

I'm gonna call the person in charge later before lunch to follow up on this. Hope he can just pass me another key or something.  vmad.gif  vmad.gif

I guess you need to call Microsoft directly.
