QUOTE(red_levin @ Apr 2 2012, 03:39 PM) Just test drive Elantra 1.6 and 1.8A on saturday. Feel that 1.6 is under power compare to 1.8 model. My demand is more to fuel effeciency. Compare to forte which use 7.5 litre for 100 km (2.0) and 7 litre for 100 km (1.6) model...elantra give more kilometer. For elantra (1.8), it maybe use 5.8 liter for 100 km. (I calculate for using US 40mpg) That means a lots to me since the election is near by.... Since indonesia fuel price is hike 33% last month, do you think our fuel price will not going the same way? Think again. the price difference is 14K, how long do you think Elantra would take to save that amount worth of fuel? If FC is your main concern, you should consider the Prius. QUOTE(mav3rick @ Apr 2 2012, 03:44 PM) yeahh.. kinda agree with you guys there.. i would happily trade the rain sensor and sunroof for more airbags and ECM as for the side mirrors, my trusty wira 1.5gl does not have it either and i think i got used to closing it whenever i get down from the car.. so its not too biggie for me.. but the ECM would really help during night driving.. well, just some opinion from this uncle.. the so called "power food mirror" can be customized after sales i believe. so as ECM. Have to take SA to minum instead ask them so directly. everythng can settle.

QUOTE(caddilac @ Apr 2 2012, 03:45 PM) But still it does represent something. If it is useless then no point having the so called official fuel consumption. it is in average.. its just a point to tell u that.. this car can move this distance at this amount of fuel.. so when ppl uses this reading to compare with their daily drive.. then they start to complain.. then what..? the car is faulthy..? its just a guideline on how much this car can get.. accurate reading is depend on ur own calculation.. then that is called personal accurate reading.. and that is why i say it is subjective.. if u watch many car reviews in youtube.. most of them will say the given mpg reading and their driving reading does not = the reading stated by their official manufacturer.. But the whole point of having official fuel consumption is not for you to compare the figure with your actual fuel consumption. It is to allow consumers to compare with other cars before making their buying decision.

QUOTE(ivn79 @ Apr 2 2012, 03:46 PM) According to conversation wit SA yestreday, Lame Darby not giving any discount for these models in their history, only price hike due to high demand. Can anyone confirm this? none of these models are having sales pronlems during launch unlike elantra by the way the tuscon sales have taken a dip with the new kia sportage, sa also throwing in HU units for hi spec 2.0 sonata, some offer cash discount...but just me 2 cents

Even Camry was offering up to 12k rebate also. http://www.yuen89.com/2012/03/toyota-camry...to-rm12000.html Added on April 2, 2012, 3:56 pmQUOTE(Aaron135LC @ Apr 2 2012, 03:54 PM) i dont get the point of trying to bring this topic into discussion.. what i wan to say is FC is subjective.. if u don gt the point.. then u go argue with other people.. im not sure but i have not ever seen a negative car launch like the elantra ( their FB page, low yat , paul tan sites all have negative user comments.) they must be seriously cracking their head to deal with this PR nightmare. No doubt there will be the first batch buyers eager to get the 1.8H and 1.6 HS but i doubt they can maintain the sales momentum for batch 2, or once the new proton is launched followed by a host of new 2012 models coming soon
although i booked for the 1.8HS , i plan to wait till second batch , so that they can iron out all the local defects before deciding , i figure by end may or early june they would have exhausted all the 1st batch and might need some new promos for batch 2

Sonata sales dropped 45% in Feb while Optima sales increased by 238% compared to January. Even Teana dropped 37% in Feb. Dunno why. 114 units of Sonata sold in Feb compared to 206 units in Jan. Optima sold 152 units in Feb comapred to 45 units in Jan. This post has been edited by cybermaster98: Apr 2 2012, 04:06 PM

Ppl placing booking left n right. And according to bro fluidic already 1600 booking just for the weekend just in PJ. Imagine wat will happen when nationwide launch? Also, another former already saw the memo to increase price if too laku, just like wat happened to Tucson. The saddest part is, Tucson sell so long dy still no "FL power food mirror"(YES! Even Tucson top spec no power food mirror!!!). Lost hope dy if want to wait for FL only buy.

I have decided to go Prius C instead of Elantra 1.6HS after yesterday test drive. Just cannot justify the price to myself.

Just like the Passat which fluctuate a lot in past few months.
