where's alpha and beta?

Tested 1.6hs and 1.8 with 2 in front and 1 passenger. Not really full test drive but purely to test and feel on the acceleration.

1.6h.s acceleration seems sluggish from the beginning but picking up in later stage.. yup underpower. My myvi1.3A easily win from 0-100km but personally still feel better then forte 1.6sx.
1.8 is much more feeling like driving a C-segment car and slightly better and responsive like myvi feeling but really don't feel vroom power on it. Still can bear with it.

Interior wise, in common, hand break really feeling cheapo as mentioned by some earlier. Door close sound does not really feel sound solid when slam the door... i prefer more solid sound and feel high class with that sound haha.
1.6sx, interior as expected, basic one. Leather is okay. 1.8 Nappa leather really nice. the look and feel is 1 grade upper than 1.6hs.

SA offer extra rm500 on trade in car, rm500 on tint, full tank, smartag and tissot watch if book by this week. They can't promise any better deal as they don't even know their commission at the moment...

In short, don't really feel a deal breaker at the moment. If would like to purchase, i will recommend 1.8 or go for forte 2.0.

anyway, i will not make any purchase as 1.8 is still slightly higher with current spec to me. 1.6 underpower

because of your comments, today onwards there'll be many JPJ road blocks

Maybe he say under normal daily acceleration (not WOT),I tried my gf myvi acceleration not bad quite responsive until 60 maybe of the gear ratio la but elantra I feel abit sluggish maybe due to the Eco mode I might be wrong

ECO mode. someone can help to confirm it can actually be turned off before official launch next week? that's the first thing I'm going check and disable, if can.

For someone who used to be driving Kia Carens for the past 8 years, do you think she will find the Elantra 1.6 underpower?

I sat inside the car, what I did in the car is like a harassment I guess...feel everything.
Yeah I did the same in Forte 2.0 before that is why I drop it from my list earlier already...Both ain't solid for me, however, Forte is much roomier. Anyone who consider between Forte and Elantra, must think twice and compare the price.. unless you super dovey lovey with Elantra (which I think I never have any idea why anymore) ...just go ahead lor.. 

If solid is the main concern. Go get German made. No one can beat German in term of solid.

Their car is solid.

People rushed and waited around the parking lot as the Elantra come down from the trailer. I've never sat down ever since till 8:30pm.

if wan to burn 110k + on a car might as well get sylphy.....slightly old but enuf power to push more than elantra....other than the value for price forte

Today I got no chance to explore the car at all. Customer chain combo and most of my in car experience comes from the 1.8

Sluggishness takes a while to get used to, cause the automatic is programmed for smooth and fuel efficient driving that's why there's a slight hesitation when you floor the pedal suddenly. Use the semi-shifter if you want to see how far you can push any Hyundai's model.

Free watch is for all dealers, as long as you're the first 2000 booking.

Can confirm booking then I discuss with my manager and boss.

Test drove the 1.8 yesterday.
Felt that the engine sound began to sip in at 2K+ RPM.
It was unbearable when pushed to 6K+ RPM, it gave loud whining sound.
Is the sound insulation that bad?
Anyone experienced this?

Added on April 1, 2012, 1:42 pmDespite so many negative feedback on pricing in forum, when asked SA how many has canceled the order, the answer is none. This give SA confident the car sale will be good and don't willing to give any discount.

test drived the 1.6 today...quite disappointed no real pick up even with eco on or off....leather seat wasnt that comfy and its abit hard to turn corners coz the car is low so harder to see when turning left or right coz the side will really block your vision...

then test drive a city....damn city has more pick up power than the elantra 1.6

vios crown have been taken over by turbo protons mah. 

haha doubt i wan a dugong or a potong.....though i can say inspira (ins-piracy) has caught my eye

but for elantra other than the design...nothing much to offer

cant say for 1.8 since i can only test it next week but can only say comfort wise......sylphy thumps it in comfort and legroom at the back

maybe can find which meet nearly all above, like those new german C segments. only price is the issue.. 

Honestly, before I test this Hyundai Elantra, I have a very high hope on it, but after yesterday test-drive, everything seem totally opposite. When sitting inside, the head room is the most obvious bad design, I'm 6ft something, no matter how low I adjust the seat, when entering I have to becareful  my head not to hit the roofline. Second, the dashboard layout is very weird, especially the center air cond vent. About performance, I only tested the 1.8 and I found the power isn't there, I can feel the sluggishness and I have to push harder to get the run faster a bit, and the NVH is bad, tires noise and engine noise is quite obvious, and the engine not as smooth as I expected. When comparing to sylphy, the riding and driving quality is like  heaven and hell, totally opposite, the sylphy is so much smoother than the Elantra and quietness is also very obvious. So does this New Elantra worth the money?  My answer is totally not worth, and pls don't bash me, It is just my own view and opinion.
