Went to test drive for 1.6 today,

Pickup is as slow as my Kancil 850(M) when Econ mode is on, after rev up to 4000 RPM, it moves to higher gear quickly, even I step the pedal to the bottom already.
Engine sound is okay, not so lousy
NVH so so only, hit a pothole and heard a big noise, but suspension is acceptable to me.
Door close sound doesn't really feel solid close.
Overall it is a good car albeit performance is not good enough, only price is not competitive.

lolzzz, previously Myvi, now Kancil.  hmm.gif

Maybe date 1 day you bring your kancil over to one of the showroom then while test drive, both car drag to see if the pickup is the same.  sweat.gif

When I speed up from 20KM/h to 80KM/h, the pick up feeling was similar to my 14 years old kancil manual, except the engine noise is much much quieter. actually my Kancil manual pick up was not bad many years ago, can reach 100KM/h from 0 in 11 seconds laugh.gif

Next time I will try to turn off the econ mode and do a 0-100 speed test probably.

However, i love the Fluidic Sculpture so much, ya, have to sacrifice in order to get the design shape done, i only wry my passenger is not comfortable (my parent). You knw they will keep bashing blablabla, keep asking why!

Oh yea? den the rusty shld not be a problem. Does any1 ask for the bodykit package? My SA knw ntg about it.

This afternoon, i think i explain the features more than my SA does.

Seriously i will try to floor the pedal kao kao again the next test drive to disappoint fellow fortian.

Cuz what i knew is our own bad perspective about this car due to the pricing issue.

If SD make it 100k for this 1.8 Nu, i t wont not hav negative issue for the pickup at all.

If the 1.8 is around 100K, I will definitely book it, it will be really value for money.

Perhaps we can wait til end of the year, SD may give more discount if Elantra sales not good, just like they gave 10K discount for Avante X20

Don't only judge the car performance by the engine displacement, there is one terminology call power to weight ratio, that is the key.

I have decided to go Prius C instead of Elantra 1.6HS after yesterday test drive.
Just cannot justify the price to myself.

Any1 can actually tell me, what is the price will be meaningful to you! (reasonable la)

IMHO, Elantra 1.6HS should be priced < RM90K, a slightly above Forte 1.6SX is acceptable.

I took another test drive of the 1.6HS again.

This time I use shiftronic gear most of the time, it is quite fun and acceleration is better than D mode, even there were three adults sitting inside the car. the shiftronic works like manual car, I rev it to 4000rpm, I can feel the power starting around 3000rpm, although the acceleration responsiveness is not immediately, but quite ok to me. however, the engine is pretty noisy when revving higher than 3000RPM.

Then I went to the next door to test the Toyota Prius C which has the same price tag as Elantra 1.6 HS, the Prius C gave me totally different driving experience, the engine is damn quiet at low speed, acceleration is very smooth, I can't feel any gear shift, although the power is not that great compare to Elantra 1.6 HS, but it is quite a pleasure drive.

Now I'm really in the dilemma, I like the Elantra appearance and cabin size, but I do like the Prius C quietness and FC, now scratching my head already.

Any1 here test to bang the door? Was actually disappointed when heard the sound, the door close like not firmly tight!

And when open the door, is like everythng feel very loose.

the driver and passenger seat behind is a hard plastic, what is that damn thing?

i purposely try tear it put very softly, and it just easily open like this?? R u sure about the fixing is firmly screw?

Imagine if is some1 kid or noty boy go n tear it out.

Come on, this is a showroom car, how can display it with such minor thing did not properly

checked. I did not show it to any1 cuz i duwan spoilt every1 party. If is other buyer saw it. i duno wad will happened.

To me, the door close feeling of Elantra is definitely lost to Prius C, I have same feeling as you, I don't feel a firm close. perhaps CKD quality is like that.
