Just test drive Elantra 1.6 and 1.8A on saturday. Feel that 1.6 is under power compare to 1.8 model.

My demand is more to fuel effeciency.

Compare to forte which use 7.5 litre for 100 km (2.0) and 7 litre for 100 km (1.6) model...elantra give more kilometer.

For elantra (1.8), it maybe use 5.8 liter for 100 km. (I calculate for using US 40mpg) That means a lots to me since the election is near by....

Finally managed to test drive the car in glenmarie today. Tested the 1.6 n 1.8 version.

To be honest, i was hoping for alot especially with all the hype this car has gotten. I got in the 1.6 version first. Interior qquality was ok. But i cant understand why the doors were still using hard plastic at this level.

Steering felt light at high speeds.not good at all. Power at lowrpm was ok, but the moment u floor the pedal,rpm goes up to 6k but hardly any power felt.

Verdict: very underpower

Then it was the 1.8 version. Got in, nice touchscreen greeted me b
Although a bit laggy. Was expecting more power. But unfortunately power was more or less the same as 1.6 version. Hardly any power at high rpms.noisy engine .

Verdict: underpowered and overpriced.

No doubt the designof exterior n interior is good. But the materials they use are of cheap quality . Cheapo leather seats. Rear seats super cramp as car has very low roofline.

Overall verdict: i cant understand who will buy this car . Its a good try by hyundai but doesnt even come close to toyota altis in terms of refinement. Even my previous honda city 1.5 had more power.

talk about rear head room and legroom..i purposely sit at the back and let my wife test drive.

I am 180cm tall and yes, if u sit straight at the back, the roof is just inch away, but who's gonna sit straight at the back for the whole journey ?

talk about leg room, my knee didnt touch the front seat at all for the whole journey.

are those testers all big size american or what ? or they are expecting a legroom of a limousine coz the price are 10k more than forte ?

NVH is not all about engine noise. Overall 308 is the best but tyre roar of Elantra is definitely much better than Civic. At higher rev Elantra is noisier than Civic but in normal driving I can't really tell any big difference between Elantra and Civic:P

Exactly bro, NVH still a decade away to achieve, but i can accept that bcuz is from Hyundai. Speed, Throttle, Torque is not the main purpose for

Elantra buyers.

However, i m very doubt about the parts installment quality from Inokom.

Any1 knw 2nd badge of elantra will be better than current wan? i dun mind pay even more but promise to get more upgrades.

Test drove the elantra 1.8 today, engine is quite loud, the brochure shows Garmin but real car uses papago. 2 airbags only?? Dashboard plastic feels, err, a little bit cheap.

Dunno why the dashboard  doesnt feel as solid as the civic. Well actually i just quote what my mom said, she's driving a civic currently

I agree.  My family has a forte, and while the quality is pretty good as well, I still found the elantra's better, and felt more premium.

Guys, i have to say bye bye to Elantra because 1st batch no dark blue for 1.8. I don't have time and patient to wait for another 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 months for second batch. Really "hello impossible" for me 

I really like this car very much from the bottom of my heart, i wish this car can change or even dominate malaysian c-segment market like that Forte does 

I am not happy because SD should have told me earlier that which color are not available
