Thanks! But now, i got problem. When i want to move to my new sd card. The phone said memory card is full. Even using apps2sd also cannot. Means at internal sd card (1.7GB) already full. Then how? feels like wasting my money buying 16GB -.-"
*
1.7GB usable internal memory? Quiet a lot what...this is android legacy problem...no fix. Only new phones with Android 4.0 like HTC One X can have one single partition of memory i think.

Btw, is considering between this phone and HTC One X....Galaxy W seems like old liao...HTC One X with ICS only RM900....

Phone price can only go one way....which is DOWN. Don't believe what the sellers tell you.

With so many new phones coming every month...better stuff all the time at same price.
*
really ? now thats a good news, hope by may the price will be cheaper :3

Hey guys, my dad is having a problem with his Galaxy W. He can receive, but he can't make calls. We've tried the sim card in other phones, and it seems to work fine.

Follow the first method. Rooting via Recovery method. This is the easiet. Nothing else is easier. Download the file from your phone(make your life easier, no need PC in this case), place it in the root directory. Means in the outside most folder when you open 'My Files'. Then you can follow the guide. It just take you around 2 mins for whole process. Don't even need luck. Won't actually go wrong unless you can't read simple english laugh.gif laugh.gif

Agreed. Samsung phones are the easiest to root. Normally either flash some zip file in recovery or SuperOneClick. HTC, on the other hand, can be a pain in the a55 doh.gif

Now I don't care that much. I usually leave wifi on overnight and it still drains 5~6% over 8 hours. No complain on battery life. Btw, as you use it for some time, you won't even care about that. It makes not much of difference, believe me. LOL

Well it's depend on your telco. If you have Digi line like mine, then welcome to club. Digi line sometime so fcuked up that the signal drop lower or to zero. When that happened, your phone will in searching mode and it will drain the battery faster. I HATE DiGi. And now they coming up with LTE, they messed everything else up.

I'm using Digi and my battery dies in less than 2 days.
Anyway... I have some private videos and pics that I dont want others to see when they play around with my phone. Any apps that can set a password to a folder/file or something?

I'm using digi. Signed the package from them. I got not much of complain in my house here. Always full bar. I only leave wifi on overnight, not data. But in my campus really bad signal but i think my usage is still acceptable. Currently super busy on assignment and test. Like ytd, went to school for 6 hours, data on but battery only drop till 85%. Miracle? Because I don't even have time to touch the phone until the time I'm going back home. shakehead.gif Normal usage for whole day from 8-6 i still got around 50% left with constant checking on fb throughout the day. If normal not busy day with a lot of break in between classes, then I need charger with me. Gaming sucks battery.

Erm... If you just don't want them to browse through gallery, just make a file using notepad, name it .nomedia (WITHOUT THE .TXT extension). You don't need to type anything in the text file, just rename it. Then paste the .nomedia file inside the folder you want to hide. With this, you can only access it through 'My Files' but not through gallery. Android gallery will not search for any media files in that folder. And... to prevent your friend to see them through 'My Files', just make few folders within folder with weird weird insuspicious name. Then you should be good to go.

BTW,... *private videos/pics is Prawn???* whistling.gif Or vid/pic of your girlfriend? biggrin.gif

Off topic a lil' bit. Are there others that got problem with digi signal lately? Before this the signal were fine in my office area. No problem inside the building too. But now it's so bad that the signal is totally gone.

Complaint to digi and was told to switch to 2G. WTF! And what I'm suppose to do with dataplan? free meals for digi?

I just did it recently on my rooted stock ROM. There seems to be 2 ways to get that I8150DXLC1 update, so try the first before the second.

Short Way:

1. Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...835&postcount=3 and download the Odin Multi Downloader, Ancora.ops and Stock Recovery links.
2. Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1317394 and download the unroot.zip file. Place it in your SD card root path.
3. Boot to download mode in your phone and flash the stock recovery, replacing CWM recovery.
4. Reboot to stock recovery and flash the unroot.zip file. Your phone should now be unrooted with stock recovery.
5. Reboot normal and download the new firmware update.
6. The update process will reboot the phone and flash the update. It may fail at around 22% in a blue screen and give an error "phone verify fail", and if so, try the next steps.

Long Way:

1. Make a nandroid backup using CWM recovery.
2. Go to http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I8150 and download the firmware update, preferably the XME region, which is Malaysia.
3. Boot to download mode and flash the above update using Odin.
4. Reboot normal and check that phone is updated to I8150DXLC1.
5. Reboot to CWM recovery and do advanced restore of data only.
6. Reboot normal and check that your data and apps are restored.

Hope this helps.

Digi doing upgrading service. I have the same problem. Ironic, to upgrade, they downgrade you first. Final nail in the coffin for Digi, will be porting out when my contract ends.
