QUOTE(dreamfasten @ Mar 28 2012, 01:41 AM) Do you have a data plan? AGPS helps tremendously. Even without plan, you can consider using AGPS, the 1KB of data requested should cost 10 sen only.Regardless, try these: 1) install FasterFix to change your NTP server (need root) 2) install GPS Status & Toolbox to view satellite strength, etc 3) wipe EFS data (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12764930) (I never tried this) TBH, I never did any of those steps on SGW, becos the GPS performance is already superb. I only tried those steps on other phones with problems. SGW has one of the best GPS performance I've tried, better than HTC IS, SGSL, etc. |

For those who upgraded the firmware with the recent update, did you lose your root? Were you able to root back? Thanks.

The hard reset method with buttons on FP is not working (volume up + volume down + power). Anyway found this: *2767*3855# to hard reset. It will reset after 10 seconds, so use with care!

QUOTE(precision07 @ Mar 29 2012, 06:02 PM) Guys i got 1 samsung galaxy W bought last year which have a great battery life, night time when sleep for around 8 hours, the phone idle use around 3~8% battery only. Firmware same? Both also running same apps?Recently bought a new Galaxy W(few weeks ago), stock ROM and no software installed yet, its always 16%~20%++ every night idle. Even Factory Data Reset still same. So same phone same settings (Off Wifi, Off GPS, Off Bluetooth, Off Backgroud Data) already Off everything, Idle 8 hours the new Galaxy W is double battery consumtion of the old one. Old Galaxy W can play games and listen music a bit, 3 days+ charge once, if totally Idle might be can last 4~5 days? So far I is 3 days charge once with little use. New Galaxy W, idle no use also need to charge everyday. Anyone facing this issue with recently bought Galaxy W? QUOTE(AMDAthlon @ Mar 29 2012, 06:12 PM) Guys, recently my phone falls off into water.I dried everything and it starts/boots up normally. QUOTE(wemglucas3 @ Apr 6 2012, 11:30 AM) Ohh, Means that i wont get any updates from samsung via SMS or Email notifications ? You will get SMS from Samsung when your e-warranty is done. But who knows, maybe they forgot, or misdelivered. Then you check it yourself.I have to check it myself thru the SMS ? QUOTE(wemglucas3 @ Apr 6 2012, 02:52 PM) Guys, another question here. What's the different between GSM and WCDMA ? Issit mean 2G and 3G ? If you run data, there's an icon on top with double arrows: either G, 3G, or H (if I'm not wrong).and how to identify whether my SGW is running my internet data ? is there any icon displayed on top ? Cuz im not sign up to any data plan, so i scare it will automatic runs my data. QUOTE(wemglucas3 @ Apr 6 2012, 12:00 PM) There's no auto-brightness setting for it. so far i just saw the bar for adjust the brightness. I suspect there's auto-brightness but just no setting for it. If you look on the left of the earpiece, there are 2 things there. 1 is proximity sensor, the other surely is ambient light sensor?Seems like there's no auto-brightness for SGW. QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Apr 11 2012, 06:17 AM) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1317394 Agreed. Samsung phones are the easiest to root. Normally either flash some zip file in recovery or SuperOneClick. HTC, on the other hand, can be a pain in the a55 Follow the first method. Rooting via Recovery method. This is the easiet. Nothing else is easier. Download the file from your phone(make your life easier, no need PC in this case), place it in the root directory. Means in the outside most folder when you open 'My Files'. Then you can follow the guide. It just take you around 2 mins for whole process. Don't even need luck. Won't actually go wrong unless you can't read simple english |

No problem inside the building too. But now it's so bad that the signal is totally gone. Digi doing upgrading service. I have the same problem. Ironic, to upgrade, they downgrade you first. Final nail in the coffin for Digi, will be porting out when my contract ends.Complaint to digi and was told to switch to 2G. WTF! And what I'm suppose to do with dataplan? free meals for digi? |

QUOTE(Matrix @ Apr 11 2012, 04:17 PM) Last 2 weeks distruption in PJ area due to upgrading works. Already got announcement mah. This week seems all back to normal. I wonder why people here complain so much, it's a planned maintenance/upgrading work just for short period. Complain so much becos we pay for the service and we're getting screwed. Seriously, if I can't make calls and people cannot call me, what good is the service? I will make noise even if they've made announcements.Yes, already filed complaint with MCMC. QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Apr 11 2012, 03:47 PM) Certain areas only. And they wouldn't publish the full list of affected areas. I've already asked. This post has been edited by Dannyl: Apr 11 2012, 05:59 PM |
