Diablo III is an upcoming dark fantasy/horror-themed action role-playing game in development by Blizzard, making it the third installment in the Diablo franchise. The game, which features elements of the hack and slash and dungeon crawl genres, was first announced on June 28, 2008, at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational in Paris, France
Diablo III: Opening Cinematic
Story Plot:
QUOTE
The game takes place in Sanctuary, the dark fantasy world of the Diablo series. This world was saved twenty years prior by a handful of unnamed heroes in Diablo II. Warriors who, having survived the onslaught brought by the armies of the Burning Hells, have gone mad from their ordeals. It is up to a new generation of heroes to face the forces of evil threatening the world of Sanctuary.
Players will have the opportunity to explore familiar settings such as Tristram.
The only confirmed NPCs are Deckard Cain,[5] who has appeared in both of the previous games, and his stepdaughter, a new character that accompanies the hero in quests from time to time. Cain's journal on the official site brings the player up to speed on the events of the first two games.[6] Diablo's world map is composed primarily of two main continents with several small islands in the Northwest region.
Character Classes:
QUOTE
There will be five available character classes.[23][24] In the previous two games, each class had a fixed gender, but in Diablo III players may choose the gender they would like to play.[5] Although Blizzard initially revealed only one gender per class, the alternate gender has been revealed slowly in the lead-up to the game's release.
1. The Witch Doctor is a new character reminiscent of the Diablo II Necromancer, but with skills more traditionally associated with voodoo culture. The Witch Doctor has the ability to summon monsters, cast curses, harvest souls, and hurl poisons and explosives at his enemies. Blizzard has stated[citation needed] that the Witch Doctor is not another version of the Necromancer and that they may incorporate the Necromancer in a future expansion if they so desire.
2. The Barbarians will have a variety of revamped skills at their disposal based on the use of their incredible physical prowess. The Barbarian is able to whirlwind through crowds, cleave through swarms, leap across crags, and crush opponents upon landing.
3.The Wizard is a version of the Sorceress from Diablo II or the Sorcerer from Diablo. The Wizard's abilities range from shooting lightning, fire and ice at their enemies to slowing time and teleporting around enemies and through walls.
4. The Monk is a melee attacker, using martial arts to cripple foes, resist damage, deflect projectiles, attack with blinding speed, and land explosive killing blows. It combines the melee elements of Diablo II's Assassin class with the "holy warrior" role of the Paladin. Blizzard has stated that the Monk is not related in any way to the Monk class from the Sierra Entertainment-made Diablo: Hellfire expansion.[25]
5.The Demon Hunter combines elements of Diablo II's Amazon and Assassin classes. Demon Hunters use crossbows as their main weapon and also throw small bombs at enemies. Some of their skills have been revealed and among them are arrow skills such as Chain Arrow.
The Archivist class was presented on April 1, 2009, following in Blizzard's April Fool's Day joke tradition.

Haven't played D3 before ? Or you want to refresh on the full Lore about Diablo 3 ? Well here are some videos showing you the full Lore regarding the Universe of the Diablo series that takes place in heaven, hell and the world of Sanctuary.
I watched these 3 youtube videos by Force Strategy Gamers and found that there were some inaccuracies, such as....
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
1. the map background is showing the map AFTER tyrael had layeth the smack down on the world stone. So when narating for events prior to D2 expansion ending, they should have used the older map when Mount Arreat was still intact. This is the correct map for events prior to D2 expansion http://images.wikia....4/Sanctuary.jpg
2. Prior to the battles between angels and demons, there was Anu. This was not even mentioned in the youtube documentary. Anu is basically god in the diablo universe. Anyway Anu who wanted to become the perfect being, discarded the evil essence from himself in order to achieve perfection.
In doing so, there was now Anu (all things good) and the 7 headed black dragon called Tathamet (all things evil). They were both equal in power, and eventually they both died fighting each other for almost an eternity.
Their essence became what is currently known as the high heaven's and hell. Anu's spine formed the crystal arch of heaven where angels are born, whereas Tathament's black smoldering husk formed the 7 planes of the burning hell.
3. he neglected to mention that Inarius was captured and was offered by the Angiris council, to Mephisto to seal the peace pact they had made. Mephisto had a special hatred for Inarius, because he had an affair with his daughter Lilith (and this pissed off Mephisto a lot). So he brought Inarius with him back to hell, where Inarius was tortured endlessly.
4. It was actually Lilith who was behind unlocking Ulydyssian's nephalem powers (not Inarius). This was mentioned in the book of cain.
5. he did not mention about the different mage factions which culminated into the clan wars. This event although not as epic as the sinwars, was still a major was in the lore of diablo.
6. he mentioned tal rasha was the one who suggested that he use himself as a human conduit to help imprison baal the lord of destruction. Actually that isn't true, because according to the book of cain, it was Zoltun Kulle (one of the horadric mages who is a specialist in transmutation/alchemy magic) who suggested that a human could in tangent with the broken soul stone, to imprison baal.
There are hints that Zoltun Kulle may have had a hidden agenda, based on the fact he may have been responsible for allowing the soul stone to break. Also it was he who invented the black soul stone which we saw in the Diablo 3 cinematic, and will have a huge role in the story plot apparently.
Also here is a chronological order of the many Diablo novelia (exceptions are the graphical comics e.g. like the recent Sword of Justice)

I will post latest ingame videos here, seeing as the first post is videos from a very old version of the game that is no longer applicable. So it will only give new comers a false impression of what Diablo 3 actually looks like in the most recent beta patch.
*note: the videos below were taken during beta patch 13, so please keep that in mind. Beta Patch 15 is still new, so there isn't that many detailed videos about the classes out just yet.

New content accidentally unlocked in D3 beta. Blizzard shut down the server in a panic
QUOTE
Update It appears these steps no longer work, but I thought it'd be important if I shared it with you anyway.
These are the exact steps I took to get inside. Exactly how I would write them if I was at work,
1. Created Shattered Crown Game 2. Worked my way to Cemetery Waypoint 3. Random User from "Looking for game" chat asks if he can join game to help test bug, I agree. 4. [] joins the game, Diablo's minions grow stronger. 5. [] waits in town next to my banner and holds cursor above banner. 6. Advise [] to left-click my banner continuously until further notice. 7. I move my Barb slightly below waypoint 8. Alt tab, disconnect wireless internet signal. 9. Run North past gate within a 6-7 second window 10. Alt tab, immediately reconnect internet 11. [] then appears in "Fields of Misery" 12. I get disconnected from the server so I relog. 13. Rejoined Join []'s game and am now in "Fields of Misery"
I was in the area for only about 20 minutes before I was disconnected. I was testing for more bugs, but other then placeholders, everything seemed normal. In the Slaughtered Calf Inn, you could buy dye's for your gear. A cave, for example, had a placeholder name of something like: "Cave_(draw001)_hskey" which isn't unusual, considering we have an incomplete build of the game.
I don't know who this [] player is because I couldn't see his name, but he's the other who saw the area. I was asking in chat for someone to help me test the bug but nobody would message me, and now I have over 200 friend requests. I'm currently unable to get online as of a couple hours ago and I'm receiving an error of "3005" when I try to login.
It's not because I've been banned, this is a "Bug" and the sole purpose for the Beta. Blizzard wants us to find these things so that they don't have these problems in release. Everything is working as intended so I wouldn't worry about it too much, even though some of my friends with Beta can login right now.
I heard a rumor on the forums that Dye's were being sold in the Auction House, which is completely possible. But moments before I went offline I noticed the Auction House was offline too, possibly to hotfix the issue? I do believe a couple of days ago when I tried to to access the Auction House it appeared to be offline anyway, so it could just be a maintenance thing.
Questions and answers, as well as useful tools will be posted here.
SEA/ANZ Diablo III Home Region Change

If I live in Australia/New Zealand/Southeast Asia, what server will I play Diablo III on? Diablo III players in Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia will, by default, connect to the Americas region. By connecting to this region, players will have a wider pool of people to play with and access to a more vibrant and active auction house marketplace. Further details on regional connection options and auction house functionality will be posted at www.diablo3.com prior to release.
How does this impact the items I have purchased in the auction house? Auction house purchases are bound to the servers in the region in which they're bought. Any items acquired on game servers in the Americas region are bound to those servers and are not transferrable to the servers in Europe or Asia (and vice versa). Please keep this in mind when making purchases in the auction house. We’ll release more details on the auction house functionality prior to the game’s release.
Please note that as these updates suggest, there will be some options with regard to the regions. We’ll be providing further information on those options, and answering any questions you may have on this change to your Diablo III home region as we get closer to release.
BattleTag Update
QUOTE
You've been heard! There's a clean up pass coming for BattleTag in the near-ish future that should resolve most of the issues with a BattleTag being displayed instead of a character name, or a character name not being displayed at all. I think it may also line up with some fixes for BattleTags here on the forums. Although I'll still think of you all as my little D3BETA's... *sniff*
BattleTag is still intended to be your big overarching account-wide identifier that will follow you from Blizzard game to Blizzard game, but individual character identity is still obviously very important.
Is it possible to change your Battletag? Mine's been Derek for really long now and obviously I didn't realize how important battletags are supposed to be... Yeah, and there are still some weird restrictions due to the language filter we have getting all jacked up. We plan to provide a name change at some point before release.
Q&A for Trading:
QUOTE
Q: Do we need to change our Battle.net info to US address in order to be able to trade in RMAH with westerners (e.g. US) or just buy the US Retail of Diablo 3 ? I am really confused...or is there any article or announcement that explains the Auction House region restriction ?
A: If I am not mistaken battle.net info will sync their servers every day.
I had previously linked my WoW TW to my battle.net acc. I did it through the SEA portal. I had problems login on to WoW that day. So I did some investigation. I found out that if I login to battle.net through the TW portal, my WoW is still not linked to it. But it had info about my SC2 and WoW:US. Then I changed the region back to SEA, I could then see all my other games plus WoW:TW. Changing the region to US and i get the same thing as the TW one.
After a day later I checked back on the TW portal and indeed my WoW:TW is there, same as the US. And I can play WoW:TW again tongue.gif
So do take note of this. When changing account info.
Oh regarding your question, yes changing your address to a US address will make you able to trade with "Ang Mohs" (Westerners) provided you can prove you really live there.

Clarifying what Hardcore mode offers
QUOTE
Is Nightmare, Hell and Infernal privileged to hardcore players only or can we softcore players also enjoy the harder difficulties? No, everyone gets all difficulty levels/skills/gear. Hardcore just has a separate AH and no currency AH... and you can die once. (Source)
How will the hardcore arena be handled? Seems like it might be a pretty empty place potentially.. Yeah, we're thinking arena death probably won't be permanent for hardcore characters. Not totally decided. (Source)
Does that mean joining hardcore games and going hostile and hunting through the acts looking 4 ur prey will no longer b an option? Correct. That will not be an option. (Source)
I just don't think I have it in me to play HC. I'd be too scared that if I died, I'd quit for good. It always had the opposite effect on me. Sure there is the initial shock and disbelief, but pretty quickly thereafter, I always want to start a new character. Because I'm so stoked for building up my banner and the things around it, I think the shock and disbelief stage will be even shorter with in Diablo III. (Blue Tracker/Official Forums)
Now, what's the point of hardcore if a disconnect (which WILL happen) kills your character? You know, I never experienced a lag spike / disconnect threatening a D2 hardcore character. The big threats were always that I would get lazy and let my pots dwindle, or start a boss fight when I was tired and should have gone to bed, or got too overconfident with pulls and skipped full recovery. That sort of thing. (Blue Tracker/Official Forums)
What do i get from the Diablo 3 Collector's Edition ?

Are Collectors Edition Items unique to CE only ? Short answer, Yes.
QUOTE
All of the Collector's Edition in-game items are absolutely exclusive to the Collector's Edition. It seems the screenshot you linked is of some datamined content, which doesn't accurately reflect what's available in the game.
The wings are exclusive to the Collector's Edition. The dye colors are exclusive to the Collector's Edition. The banner sigil is exclusive to the Collector's Edition.
Don't worry. Be happy.
More info regarding the Collector Edition items
QUOTE
Q. People keep asking about the wings perk from the Collector’s Edition: How will your character receive this item? Will each character have the item, or does it have to be shared across your characters (like heirloom items did in WoW)? If a unique item, how will transferring the wings work? Can the wings be accidentally sold or destroyed? How will these wings work on a HC character when they die -- do you lose them?
Each character you make will receive CE items in their inventory. They cannot be dropped, but can be destroyed if you want the inventory space, for example. If you want them back you can transfer through the shared stash from another character.
Battlenet authenticators are they working for Diablo 3 ?
QUOTE
As of Beta Patch 15, Battle.net Authenticators have been enabled for the Diablo III beta test. If you have a Blizzard Authenticator attached to your Battle.net account, you will be prompted to enter an authentication code when logging into the beta client.
Please note that, after your first successful login with an Authenticator, you may not always receive an authenticator prompt when logging into the game. Not to worry! This is an intended convenience feature and doesn't represent a risk to your security. If you're logging in consistently from the same location, you may not be prompted for an authenticator code.
We’re working hard on balancing and testing Diablo III, and one of the major components is making sure that the end game experience is fun and exciting. We’d like to share a few of our goals for end game: We have an enormous number of skill build combinations, and we want a lot of those skill builds to be viable and interesting While there are millions of skill builds available to players, we don’t want players swapping skills regularly to beat specific encounters as they come up We don’t want repeatedly running specific three-minute chunks of the game to be the most efficient way to acquire gear for your character While a three-minute run shouldn’t be the most efficient, we also don’t want you to feel like it’s a two-hour commitment every time you sit down to play Bosses should still feel worth killing Nephalem Valor is one of the major new systems in Diablo III and it kicks in at level 60. Keep in mind that this is still in testing and we’re still working out the details. Here’s how it currently works internally: Rare and Champion packs already have great loot on them. By killing a Rare or Champion pack, not only do you get their loot, but you’ll also receive a buff granting you increased magic find and gold find. However, if you change a skill, skill rune, passive, or leave the game, the buff disappears. As an extra reward, if you kill a boss while this buff is active, you’ll receive extra loot drops from that boss.
The exact amount of magic find and gold find provided by the buff is still being reviewed, as is the amount of extra loot you get from a boss while the buff is active. We’re also playing around with whether or not the buff stacks, what the duration should be, and whether or not it should persist through death. We want to make sure the buff is strong enough to make staying in your current game more rewarding than creating a new game. At the same time, if the buff is too strong, it risks making shorter play sessions feel not worthwhile.
We expect this system will encourage players to stick with a skill build of their choice, select an area of the game they enjoy, and sweep it for rare and champion packs on their way to a boss, finishing off a run with a boss that’ll be worth killing. If you wanted a shorter play session you could be done at that point, but if you have more time, the path of least resistance would ideally be to stay in the same game and make your way towards the next boss.

Why is there no sub forum for Diablo 3 ? Well this is what i also asked the LYN moderators. I created a thread over at helpdesk, suggesting they create a sub forum in gamershideout for Diablo 3, seeing as this will be a popular game, so it was very odd why this wasn't done already.
Voice chat Diablo 3 discussions ? Where can i do this
QUOTE
Q. Okay so i've read all about Diablo 3, but now i want to discuss about it in voice chat, so where can i do this ? A. Well my recommendation is to use this voice chat on Ventrilo which is primarly used by Diablo 3 fans and gamers who are already in the beta. Below are the Vent details
Server ip: newyork.maxfrag.net Port: 4242 Password: thelordofflies
PS: This is the Vent server for Diablo Expressions which i mentioned in the post below. It's free for us by anyone, but it is strictly for Diablo 3 related only
Q. What is a good gaming keyboard for Diablo 3 ? A. Well my recommendation is to get a good quality mechanical keyboard. Me and Chuah started the 1st Malaysian lowyat Mech keyboard club to inform the newbies about quality keyboards to improve your typing and gaming experience without wearing down your fingers due to over usage. So you can head on over to that thread to find a mech keyboard recommendation for Diablo 3. Just doing my part to spread the poison http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2240947
By the way there is a Diablo 3 Key cap set being sold and talked about in the LYN Mech keyboard club

Magic find is averaged out among the group ..... (personally i hate this one the most)
QUOTE
For example, there are 4 people in the d3 group. 1 of them has 100 Magic find, while the other 3 players have 0. But with this new system, it will add up all players MF (100+0+0+0) and then divide by how many players there are in this case 4 (100/4) which results in each player getting 25% MF each.
Sounds good ? Yeah but not for the guy who originally had 100 MF only to now have 25 MF ..... and this is the gist of the issue.
Blizzard had previously stated people who use MF gear won't be any less of a contributor compared to other players, seeing as even MF gear also comes with PVE survival/dps stats as well, and especially for some gears where there are 4-6 random stats, you will most certainly find other non MF stats appended to that same gear item as well. So no, MF stackers will not be leechers. Sure they can focus on making all 4-6 stats all pve dps/survival related, but sacrifing 1 of those random stats for MF will not have any significant impact to the group, and is a personal choice for people who want to farm for rares/legendary items.
The argument that you lose MF in return for more people joining to speed up killing monsters. This is a false assumption considering that monsters get stronger when more people join.... So no, it is not a fair trade off losing your MF to gain more players.
My Solution to the issue is average out the MF as this new system, but for that person with the highest MF, if he gets no gain in MF, then his MF should remain as is which in the above example should then be 100% mf. Not to punish them by reducing theirs as other members in the group couldn't give a shit about their own MF.
People accusing MF stackers of being leechers, may be right when talking specifically about low level gear with max 2 random attributes which we most often see in the beta, which 1 of them will be the MF stat for a MF stacker. But consider this, in higher levels, items can have as many as 4-6 random stats for each piece of gear. So MF stacking with that many stat affixes is hardly an issue, seeing as MF can only occupy 1 of them, leaving 3-5 solely dedicated for DPS/survivability aka PVE stats.
So the MF stacker = leech argument is a Moot point.
Essentially the whole issue was never really about MF leechers, but more about communists/socialists and social welfare cases who thought they deserved that Magic Find stats which they never bothered to care to farm the gear for, or even thought was more important than the other stats, so their solution was to whine to blizzard and steal it from those who work hard finding the gear ....
Sure, at higher difficulty levels such as hell and inferno, it may be wiser to balance out the stats including MF, to focus more on dps and survivability. So there will be a balacing of stats similar to Diablo 2. So we will need to wait for the game release to figure out what is the minimum MF, and other PVE stats to survive and still do decent dps in Inferno. But MF stackers like myself aren't given the chance to find a balance, instead we are already penalized by having our MF stolen from us o.O; .....
The ones being punished are MF treasure hunters such as myself who wear 4-6 random stat affix gears (1 of which is a high value MF) to farm for rare/legendary, only to find ourselves forced to solo or be punished when our MF stat gets leeched from these social welfare cases aka communists in co-op

Diablo Expressions Description: A new up and comer Diablo 3 fansite. They don't focus on news, instead they are focused on bringing the D3 gaming community together via forum and voice chat (ventrilo). Diablo 3 is lacking voice chat, so DE kindly provided a Vent server for use by D3 gamers. They plan to upgrade their vent to support up to 500 players or more if and when it is required. The blizzard forum also lacks an avenue for clan/guild recruitment, which DE is making an avenue for such activity to take place. Also each weekend, DE will also do live stream broadcasts of D3. If you want to find out more about them, i strongly suggest you watch this intro video about DE which i helped consult them with to improve it, over here
Diablo IncGamers Description: Has a very large Diablo 3 fan community base. Sadly, because the actions of their former staff, they had a falling out with Blizzard, and have been excluded from Blizzcon events and beta key give aways. Yet despite that, you can still find very up to date news regarding Diablo 3.
Force Strategy Gaming Description: They probably are the best at making very visually attractive and detailed information laden intros concerning Diablo 3 changes. One of my favourite sites to visit. As it's much better seeing a video and hearing the documentary, rather than reading a wall of text concerning changes in the recent beta patches, or any news regarding rumored release dates for Diablo 3.
Diablo 3 Database (D3DB) Description: Probably one of the best place to view the D3 items in a database. They also have a custom made skill calculator tool available on their site as well.
Diablo Nut Description: Basically a subsidiary of IncGamers, but focuses more on providing tools like skill calculator and an item database browser for Diablo 3 gear and items. Basically it's the same thing like D3DB. You decide which you prefer to use.
Daeity's Blog Description: Unlike other Diablo 3 news sites, Daeity's is some what special. Because he doesn't care what blizzard thinks about him, he is not worried about sucking up to them. Instead he usually says whatever is on his mind regarding the changes in Diablo 3. He also tends to speculate regarding the happenings over at blizzard when it comes to Diablo 3. He does try to piece together his speculation using some facts and rumors (and sometimes even insider information) to piece together his theories. It's worth reading, if your sick of the suck up fan sites out there, and just want the plain cold hard truth :}
Well i know everyone is anxious and want to get into the beta.
If anybody has questions about the beta, since i got access to it, i can try and investigate :}
So let me know if you want to know something, because i got all the characters at LV13.
This is just my small review so far:
1. Barbarian is my favourite and my main for D3 when it comes out. Very tough sturdy character that can take the most beating especially over extended period of time. Has good dps as well.
2. Monk is pretty kewl. Has the best fighting animations i feel. However i wish his dps was better ....
3. Wizard probably has the highest dps in the beta. If your aiming for the 1 blow 20 kill achievement, your best bet is to use a Wizard, to frost and then Force Wave to complete it.
4. Demon Hunter i was skeptical at first, but after playing it, i found that i liked it which was surprising. Definitely a good candidate especially for hardcore, since your always out of range of danger, and have utilities like laying traps, or going invisible and tumbling away to safety. Has nice dps....
5. witch doctor was my least favourite. I just wasn't having much fun with this character. Probably not my playing style :} hehe..
I posted my youtube video i made for the new patch 14
In the video i did a quick Skeleton King kill using my barbarian. I also show you how intrusive people can be, by checking a total strangers build, and what items they got equipped, and the characters they have, what achievements they did, which classes they use the most, the total gold they made etc etc ...... all this is available even to a stranger not on your friend list

Have anyone seen this Diablo 3 icon on your Battle.net's account page? Announcement for its release soon maybe? [Source]
No mine doesn't show that. It only shows beta, and coming soon. Doesn't say global ....
I pre-ordered a d3 collector edition. So i'm guessing why yours shows that is because you bought the annual pass deal ?

That was what i'm referring earlier and no one bother my post lol, apparently people who bought the annual pass, diablo 3 global will appears in their account.
will there be a malaysian guild for D3 ? can i use my starcraft 3 account for my diablo 3 account?
How did you get SC3 already??? hahah Yes you can use the same B.Net account as your SC2, just add D3, when it is released, to that account and you can use it.
As for Malaysian guild.... i guess you can consider the lowyat community here as a guild
will there be a malaysian guild for D3 ? can i use my starcraft 3 account for my diablo 3 account?
interesting to know as well is what is the Diablo 3 latency like to the US server, for us Malaysians who may be playing on the US realm because there are more players.
Well during the beta test, i notice my latency was 215-250ms most of the time.
But on a bad day, it spikes up[ to 400-500ms ......
This using a 10mbps FTTH Unifi internet connection by the way
Under the 400-500ms it's very unplayable as you teleport a bit, and hard to control.
my 215-250ms was very playable however so hopefully this will be the norm when the main US servers go live.
By the way guys/girls, i posted some interesting info about how just today, people managed to accidentally unlock new content by accessing areas that were previously locked. So i posted how this was done on the 1st page (the fella claims the method doesn't work any longer, and blizzard has shutdown server for maintenance .... sob sob )
Update - It appears that you can still explore the new areas as long as you know someone who has the waypoints!

I ordered mine at only RM88, of course it's through online, and the waiting time is 2-3 weeks, but it should be the same time from MPH, isnt it? or even longer.
no offense but for some reasons MPH is abit local-oriented so their non-local books collection is not as much as others.
US 35.00 is equivalent to RM105++. kinokuniya used to have book of cain in stock, but one of our forumers claimed he bought the last on shelves. well, think of spending the RM35 as shipping fees.
one of the thing is that i cant seem to find "Moon of The Spider" anywhere.. x_x.. isit a fautly print or anyone has it here mind to share any news you heard about this book?
We’re in the process of updating the regional section of the Auction House FAQ with the below changes to the home region that South East Asia, Australia, and New Zealand will be connecting to for Diablo III.
We’ll be providing further information on those options, and answering any questions you may have on this change to your Diablo III home region as we get closer to release.

guys got lubang or not for the book of cain ? can i buy it using the 1Malaysia voucher ?
you can, provided they have stock for it. if no stock, then no, cause they dont charge you before the book arrives. as of now, kinokuniya is out of stock and borders too.

well, that depends. they will tell you to wait 2-3 weeks the fastest. and i dont think you can wait that long since the vouchers expire on 31st march.
hmm, why dont you just ask them to get the books for you and see if you're that lucky to get the book by 31st march? or just spend it on some other novels.
I order from MPH @RM140. Paid RM40 as deposit, they say when book arrived, I can settle the rest using BB1M
if the book arrives after 31st of march, can u still use the voucher ?

ok bro, will check with them this weekend
im not much of a reader, let alone a big ass novel that's why im thinking of spending the voucher getting a graphic book
been a diablo's fan since i was a primary school student
It costs AUD80 = RM240. Why is it the most expensive?
And if I buy AUD copy, when I go back to Malaysia. Can I switch to SEA servers? Not sure how it works.
yes you can.

The 90SGD price is still a bit odd considering EA's Origin store can sell me a copy of Mass Effect 3 deluxe at 10SGD less, and a copy of already-expensive COD Modern Crapfare 3 is still cheaper than this. Any idea if you can use proxies to pay the US rate instead?

So I got excited and clicked everything to pre-purchase it. And before I confirmed it, I notice that it now cost 90 USD?! Try it out yourself. Click on prepurchase and go through but don't put in your credit card information (obviously). You will notice that after tax added (which is 0 usd tax), the net sum is now 90 USD. Holy crap I don't wanna pay premium 90 usd for it.

I know they are pricey, but I expect them to not price gouge SEA customers again after switching publishers from the stinking turds called IAH and not having regional Battle.net servers. 60USD = 75SGD, which means we're still paying 33% more.
Anyway, once again, anyone checked if they can use a US proxy to get the better US rate?

actually i think SEA server will be available, but not on launch, that's what hinted by blizzard's press answer.
Proxies don't work apparently, else I'd have already bought at US pricing. Not happy with price gouging for SEA customers, considering we'd be playing in the same region as US players.
Many thanks. Although I am now bursting with excitement, I think I will stick around and see if there is any better deals. Plus the bug with SGD turning into USD on their current pre-purchase is pretty nasty. Please do post any info you guys get into this thread. Lets help each other out.

What do you mean? If you're paying US rate (60USD) that will be absolutely the cheapest way to get the game.

Yeh, kinda dampens the excitement a little. I don't mind paying 90sgd if worse comes to worse since it was such a long wait. We still have 2 months to decide so just wait I guess..

US version, plays on US server, 60USD SG version, plays on US server also, 90SGD = 75USD.

yea, which is precisely my point. if you look at xbox and ps3 games, asia version is always cheaper than US version. how come diablo so expensive?!? 90 sgd is 25% more expensive than 60usd lehhhhhhhhhhh ...
What about RMAH? If we buy SEA version, are we locked to SEA RMAH? Since we can play on any region, why not just buy the US version? Reasons: 1. Its cheaper. 2. US RMAH is better then SEA (no offense).

wth suddenly thread becomes so active. anyway, 15th of may wooow! 2 more months from now! time to go out enjoy movies life before i enter the sanctuary realm..
More important question is whether characters made and played in the Americas region will be transferable to other regions. It sounds like they are, but any items you buy in the auction house and your character is carrying or in stash will not follow you?

They actually charge you 90usd...even the retail boxed version is 109sgd which is roughly 90usd.
Thats not right. Check the SC2 digital pricing. It is stated 109 Sgd but after you click into the next page. Boom 109 USD. Not 90 usd at all and has the same bug.
Won't it be U.S server then? Will that causes lag? I've never tried SC2 nor WOW before so I won't know
Huh??? Its global... dont matter which version you get. You can play anywhere in the world. Even SEA. So if you want to save. Ask a friend in the US to buy you a copy at USD59.99.

I heard wrong then.Good to know.Thanks. Now we just need a scapegoat rich person to prepurchase and see how much it actually charge.

We will be defaulted to the US Region as stated in the earlier post. This means our RMAH+GAH will be in US. So you will have to play on the US Server to be able to use the RMAH+GAH. Base on performance of the Beta, lag is not an issue. We get around 220ms ++.
However you have a choice to play on the SEA server. Not sure about implementation of RMAH, because it was not stated yet. But most likely there will not be a RMAH for SEA just a GAH.

I remember last time Blizz limit the region, but after a while they unlock it, and we can play US server without any prob.
so I placed a preorder for amazon.com usd 99 with usd 35 for shipping that takes 2-5 days. after release.
usd135 = MYR415
i noted most of the sellers say 1 week after release(about same as amazon then) but higher than this price. whats the incentive to purchase from them?

noticed quite a few questions on regions.
Kastam...our customs loves Amazon packages... they tend to hold them up... sometimes for weeks. If your purchase is more than RM500 they also want to tax you.
Buying from them means, you dont have to deal with the customs. They may have special lubang..
but i read its all atleast one week after release date... Amazon ships the day they get it (or the day after) making the MAXSIMUM 7 days after release, and minimum 4 days after release. and its a usa version, incase they decide to get a sea server going, so its still safe.
so pay rm30 for longer wait time? i was tempted to buy from them but im not so sure de.

I guess Amazon also knows this, hence they have tax deposit fees in addition to the shipping fees.
usually the distributors gets the games way ahead before launch date...so they can ship the product out early and reach the customers on the launch day itself...I dunno about international shipping tho....
and also our kastam...at least 1 day for them to process the parcel before pass it along to the poslaju ppl...
I am a bit confused too. If you were to login to your account and try to prepurchase the game, there is only 1 option available which is the "global" version. Does that mean that there are no US or SEA version?
there is something called pre-purchase. its not even release, did you even bother to stalk a few pages back? or look at my avatar. 15th may is the release date.

yes, region free apparently, unless u request to be in the specific region, else default is US. (from what other forumers said previously)

So SEA is still an option for us all? I have no experience playing in the US server but I doubt my latency will be low enough for me to enjoy the game without much frustration. I would rather play in the SEA server. At least it is good enough for me to play SC2 over it.

There is only one version of the game! period.
However how much you pay for it depends on your country of residence. If you live in
SEA( Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam) = you pay SGD 90 Aust/NZ = AUD70 North America = USD 59.99
Any way, I have just finished reading the Sin War trilogy (No kidding! Right before Blizzard announce the release date). If anyone of you got your hands on the Book of Cain then you will most likely know what I am talking about
I highly recommend that you guys pick up the book since it add up to the lore of Sanctuary.
It also hint to something very unsettling too...

yes. got sea server.
sea players will connect to america server by default.
it said by default it is connected to america region, which means .. we can change if we want to rite o.O? after all it did mention that future info regarding regional connection options will be posted later
Deimos did you prepurchased? Im tempted to, but currently the payment page is bugged...it says 90USD instead of 90SGD.

just wonder anyone ordered the SGD90.00 version from Bnet? when you check out it shows $90.00 USD total. I'm sure it's a typo but do the system really charge you USD$90 for that?

Yeah, thats what Im asking Deimos about.Submitted a ticket to Blizzard. Hope theyll reply it soon.
Hi, for those who pre-purchased, please put down the link for the installer. There is an enUS installer link flying around the official forum but SEA might have a different installer.
I saw the post saying Diablo3 gonna release by next month in Singapore. Wonder when will Malaysia release it, will it release at the same time with Singapore??
*Amended*
My mistake

Guys... the version of the game doesn't matter! enUS=enEU=enSEA they are all the same. All in ENGLISH! you can use this to connect to any server around the world!
Only difference is if you wanna download the other language versions then those will be localized to their language! You can also connect to all servers around the world for those clients too.
bro, your BattleNet account address is set to which country? If Malaysia or US should use US client unless of coz you want to play with EU friends or maybe if you like EU languages better (eg: German )

ya my cousin at germany i would like 2 play v him.. i wanna ask my cousin buy at england will be lot cheaper compare to here but she will come back around dec.. i dun have BattleNet account.. i just share the link for u guys only..
EDIT: Can't find confirmation if u pre-order using Battle.Net US ver can connect to ASIA region or not. It only says ASIA will default to US but can play in ASIA.

Bro read page 1. It has been stated many many times.. "When you buy D3 you just buy D3... you can play anywhere in the world"
Did the D3 release date get changed ? My retailer is saying this
QUOTE
Thank you for your recent Qisahn.com preorder. The release date of Diablo III US Collector Edition for the PC has been changed to 05/30/2012
Please note that we have no control over release dates.
Sincerely, Qisahn.com
Is this true or are they giving more false information again ?
Earlier they said CE SEA will give us more advantage since it will be like SC2 region lock. But that apparently was false information even though i gave them all the relevant facts found from blizzard sources .....
I'm guessing they are trying to get me to cancel because they have over accepted pre-orders than they can deliver ......
+ the new date which seems to be false ..... i'm starting to get frustrated with this seller.
I may just have to cancel and just order from my friend's seller who can get me the D3 Collector edition exactly on release date roughly. Heh.

nice. anything < RM200 for D3 is good already. Just imagine, how much we all love Blizzard products and for how long we've been waiting for this game, a bit expensive price tag shouldnt be an issue.

Actually it has always been the case you cannot change unless you can provide prove. That was why I know it was a bit hassle.
Back when WoW was just release, I cannot create a Malaysia account cause it was not supported. I had to use a dummy US address. Then when they supported Malaysia, I wanted to change to Malaysia, due to security reasons etc. But I cant change it I had to contact Customer Service, and provide prove of residency. eg Utility Bill + IC.
You can however make a new B.net account and select US as country. Less of the hassle, the most is you have to remember different account for your existing Blizzard games.

It should be SGD90. $90 is a total rip off for standard edition..

Yeah which is why I think it might just be a display bug. Was wondering if anyone simply ter-click it without checking and can double-check to see if they got charged 90 USD or 90 SGD.

We still do not know yet. This issue has been brought up on the official forums but no response by Blizzard representative. Some people have submitted ticket though. My advise: Wait and see how it turns out. No rush in purchasing anyway since we still need to wait for 2 months before we can actually play.

Hey guys, if anyone free to help me understand this game. No experience with Diablo before
Is this some kind of single player RPG with co-op? Or is it more of an online RPG game?
I'm confused because this game is story driven, which means there's a start and end right? So how does the features like online item trading fits in? I even hear some people say there will be gold farmers? lol I mean, why spend real money on godly equipment if its a story driven game?
In MMO, people spend on godly equipment for boss raids and stuff like that.

its a RPG, single player or multiplayer, take it like wc3, you can play it on bn too, your character is like your hero and getting item to strengthen your hero? co-op is played on bn with max 4 ppl, and nope, its not an online game.

Bashiok Community Manager Edited by Bashiok on 3/15/12 1:14 PM (PDT) The Collector's Edition is only available from retail, and that means to play as soon as possible you'll want to hit a midnight release to pick it up (or hope FedEx drops off your package super fast). We don't have any plans to release a digital CE, it's a retail-only kind of thing. But! you may have a few options.
If you have the WoW Annual Pass (or go sign up for it now) you get a free digital copy of Diablo III. This will give you the game right at midnight, you can go download right now, all that stuff. Then, when you pick up your CE, you can overwrite the standard edition license with the CE license and you'll be granted 4 months of game time (more or less equivalent to the cost of the standard edition). So that's a good option. More info also available in the Annual Pass FAQ.
Alternatively, you can get the digital version now, play right at midnight, overwrite your license with your CE when you pick it up, and then contact our support department. In most situations they'll be able to grant you a new standard key, which you can then give to a friend, or whatever.
Lylirra Community Manager question: i live in the EU and i want to play the game in engl. original language. does it make a difference whether i choose in predownload engl(us) or engl(eu)?
Nope, not in this case. The client data is all the same.

I'm not a fan of Diablo but it seems like a lot of gamers are anticipating this game, it feels so tempting to buy it suddenly when Diablo 3 is released.
Just random question though... All of u..not scared chinese farmer??
i play on my own cycle. which mean i dun care about AH to ruin my game since i got choice to choose. n its not like MMORPG where chinese farmer is dangerous.

That was what I was wondering about, if its single player than a story make sense. Usually online rpg games are more open ended and we just play until our character hit max level.
I called the 1800 number (Australia number listed on blizzard site) and a lady said that they were having this issue and had me buy it over the phone while I put my credit card detail into a different part of the blizzard site.
The lady then asked me if I wanted to buy it and obviously I said yes and she said it would cost $59.99. I told her it said $79.99 on the site as I wasnt fussed about the money I just wanted to make sure I would get the right product. She said yes this is $59.99 usd and she said it was the same and she basically brought the game for me using my c/c details over the phone.

Thanks man. That basically sums up what I'm wondering about . Nowadays many SP games only last 8-10 hours, I'll kick myself if I spend 60USD on a game for 10 hours only
Hmm I just decided to make a US account for Diablo 3 since even if they fix the SEA price it will still be 90 SGD = 72 USD. It's 60 USD for US accounts. These days I seldom play online, especially joining communities since I don't have a lot of free time, and play at any random time I'm free. Like sometimes when they plan to play at so and so time, I can't join since I'm not free at that time, lol.

The game itself is probably around 12-14 hours of gameplay time. This is coming from the beta which took around 1-2 hr to finish depending on how much exploring you gonna do and blizzard did say that the available beta gameplay is 1/3 of the way into Act 1 out of 4 Act..
After you have finish the game first time it till be all farming and repeating the same content in harder and harder difficulties, Blizzard has also announced that there will be 4 level of difficulty Normal, Nightmare, Hell and Inferno. In the last difficulty mode you might wanna have friends playing with you else you gonna spend a lot of time dying...Blizzard has guarantee us the difficulty between Hell and Inferno is quite a huge gap..
Also as with all of Diablo series, all the dungeon maps will be random, what this mean is you will never find the dungeon having the same layout every time you run through it, even the mobs spawn will be random. One time the entrance to dungeon level 2 will be on the left, another time it will be in the center, etc etc...
depending on your play style and interest in the game, Diablo 3 might last you 2 weeks or 10years...

the thing make not reach rekomen is the video card
if you have the $ for it, sure! then can play on higher/max vid setting and enjoy more. If your graphic card not meeting recommended, chances are you will run on low/med vid setting and won't enjoy in long run (10 years! )

If you are used to playing games at reduced visual quality then just stay with your current laptop. D3 is designed to run well on very low requirements as they want to reach out to more people.

I like that concept of random dungeons. At least it would be different experience each time we replay the game.
Anyway, I'm downloading both US and SG installers, still haven't decided which region do buy. Even though Blizz says you can play in any server, but it is still unclear how region will affect RMAH.

So guys, what's the fastest & cheapest way to get the game? I guess digital edition (being in penang means there's no way to buy legit box copy which is my preference). Few pages back recommends http://www.offgamers.com/diablo/d3/diablo-...3-5166-5167.ogm, is this site safe & reliable; meaning no fraud & CD key delivered the minute Diablo III is released? Cant wait to play

lol i never check main page. thx for the update
ok so the official price is rm218 by Asiasoft. definitely got freebies since its Asiasoft I think they use the SGD90 conversion bcoz if ur Battle.Net account is from those from SEA region u will be automatically prompt to SGD90 for digital upgrade but the question is there is no region lock unlike SC2 so they should just stick to the normal price since its easier for those with credit card
the official blizzard price USD59.99 and that is around RM189
And guys pls take note its Asiasoft.. pls get ur copy early if not u gonna QQ when u cant get it on released date, i still remember on November 13, 2008 that is WoW:Wotlk released day alot ppl didnt get their copy on time.
If you are used to playing games at reduced visual quality then just stay with your current laptop. D3 is designed to run well on very low requirements as they want to reach out to more people.
best is no need upgrade la..
but with min sys req can play bnet? sked lag like shit become not playable
Grey-market goods refer to "legal goods" which are sold outside normal distribution channels by companies which may have no relationship with the producer of the goods. Frequently this form of parallel import occurs when the price of an item is significantly higher in one country than another. This situation commonly occurs with electronic equipment such as cameras. Entrepreneurs buy the product where it is available cheaply, often at retail but sometimes at wholesale, and import it legally to the target market. They then sell it at a price high enough to provide a profit but under the normal market price. International efforts to promote free trade, including reduced tariffs and harmonized national standards, facilitate this form of arbitrage whenever manufacturers attempt to preserve highly disparate pricing. Because of the nature of grey markets, it is difficult or impossible to track the precise numbers of grey-market sales. Grey-market goods are often new, but some grey market goods are used goods. A market in used goods is sometimes nicknamed a Green Market. Importing certain legally restricted items such as prescription drugs or firearms would be categorized as black market, as would smuggling the goods into the target country to avoid import duties. A related concept is bootlegging, the smuggling or transport of highly regulated goods, especially alcoholic beverages. The term "bootlegging" is also often applied to the production or distribution of counterfeit or otherwise infringing goods. Grey markets can sometimes develop for select video game consoles and titles whose demand temporarily outstrips supply and the local shops run out of stock, this happens especially during the holiday season. Other popular items, such as dolls can also be affected. In such situations the grey market price may be considerably higher than the manufacturer's suggested retail price. Online auction sites such as eBay have contributed to the emergence of the video game grey market.
I will play barbarian in D3, as the class really looks solid in PVE and PVP, and knowing blizzard's history of making melee classes more OP than ranged classes, cough, world of warcraft, cough

nope, you just buy the game and you own it forever.
and forever needs to be online to play
P/S: Having said that, I never owned/played SC2, so help me to clarify this. In order to play single player, do we need to login to .bnet first? Or there's an offline mode for single player, traditionally? If need to, then will D3 uses the same system? Because SC2 has been sparrowfied. We all know we can never kill hackers, but will this boils down to the solution for piracy prevention? Thanks in advance.

There is an offline mode for SC2 single player, but you can only "access" it after first logging in to Bnet in previous gaming sessions.

Yeah, that's what I thought to. But months ago, I read that we need to access into battle.net account first in order to launch the client? Like some sort of a verification/authentication that we, a legit owner of D3 in order for us to play? I may be wrong.

There is no offline single player. Not like SC2 where you need to be online for authentication only.
The reason is that the server needs to do generate the map, mobs and special events for you. Just like normal MMORPG. You need to be constantly connected. Combat calculations are done on client side and reconfirmed with the server, this is why we will not notice any battle lag, unlike most online games.
However you have a choice to play online solo or play online with friends/random ppl.
Battle.net Authenticators have been enabled for the Diablo III beta test. If a Battle.net Authenticator is attached to your Battle.net account, you will be required to enter an authentication key to log in.
