Hey guys, if anyone free to help me understand this game. No experience with Diablo before Is this some kind of single player RPG with co-op? Or is it more of an online RPG game? I'm confused because this game is story driven, which means there's a start and end right? So how does the features like online item trading fits in? I even hear some people say there will be gold farmers? lol I mean, why spend real money on godly equipment if its a story driven game? In MMO, people spend on godly equipment for boss raids and stuff like that. Thanks

QUOTE(Kenzany @ Mar 16 2012, 07:01 PM) its a RPG, single player or multiplayer, take it like wc3, you can play it on bn too, your character is like your hero and getting item to strengthen your hero? co-op is played on bn with max 4 ppl, and nope, its not an online game. i mean, every game has its own story right? why not this. Thanks for the explanation That was what I was wondering about, if its single player than a story make sense. Usually online rpg games are more open ended and we just play until our character hit max level.

QUOTE(sai86 @ Mar 16 2012, 08:06 PM) Rest assure, diablo 3 will accompany you for a long time with additional difficulty. Diablo II has been with me for 9 years Thanks man. That basically sums up what I'm wondering about . Nowadays many SP games only last 8-10 hours, I'll kick myself if I spend 60USD on a game for 10 hours only

QUOTE(LemoNT @ Mar 16 2012, 08:16 PM) if u r buying the game chances r it won't be SP alrd Coz you gotta be online to even play SP, y not play with frens then These days I seldom play online, especially joining communities since I don't have a lot of free time, and play at any random time I'm free. Like sometimes when they plan to play at so and so time, I can't join since I'm not free at that time, lol. QUOTE(xanxanlol @ Mar 16 2012, 08:51 PM) Hmm I just decided to make a US account for Diablo 3 since even if they fix the SEA price it will still be 90 SGD = 72 USD. It's 60 USD for US accounts. Pro-tip, you can use an email address alias to make another account that sends email to the same address. http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answer....en&answer=12096lol I have to use paypal to pay for it because otherwise my credit card won't match my US address and it probably will fail Is your Paypal account US address? Or a Malaysia Paypal account can work?

QUOTE(SoLiD @ Mar 17 2012, 03:24 AM) The game itself is probably around 12-14 hours of gameplay time. This is coming from the beta which took around 1-2 hr to finish depending on how much exploring you gonna do and blizzard did say that the available beta gameplay is 1/3 of the way into Act 1 out of 4 Act.. After you have finish the game first time it till be all farming and repeating the same content in harder and harder difficulties, Blizzard has also announced that there will be 4 level of difficulty Normal, Nightmare, Hell and Inferno. In the last difficulty mode you might wanna have friends playing with you else you gonna spend a lot of time dying...Blizzard has guarantee us the difficulty between Hell and Inferno is quite a huge gap.. Also as with all of Diablo series, all the dungeon maps will be random, what this mean is you will never find the dungeon having the same layout every time you run through it, even the mobs spawn will be random. One time the entrance to dungeon level 2 will be on the left, another time it will be in the center, etc etc... depending on your play style and interest in the game, Diablo 3 might last you 2 weeks or 10years... Thanks for the explanation I like that concept of random dungeons. At least it would be different experience each time we replay the game.

QUOTE(swks26 @ Apr 11 2012, 07:28 PM) Ahhh fuark. Cause I'm in Australia and the prices here is massive thanks to the exchange rate. I could get it way cheaper but it's from a UK store specialised in sending to Australia.. which then uses EU region... Edit: But the region locks are only for the Auction House right? Not for normal play? I see. Thanks. So long as we can choose Asia for the normal game, it should be fine. I don't think I'll mind if Auction House is stuck in US QUOTE(commanderz @ Apr 11 2012, 08:11 PM) same here....stop playing bf 3 rdy and waiting for D3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! +1, lol. Me too haven't touch BF3 in awhile. Waiting for D3 now. Don't if its my age getting older or what, but these days I prefer rpg than FPS

Hey guys, anyone here knows how Battlenet online store works?
Whenever I click on their store it takes me to their SG store since I'm in Malaysia. But at the top right is balance in USD. I can top up this money in USD? What is it for anyway?
Don't seems like I can buy anything using that USD since the store is in SGD
Thanks

QUOTE(lordsapt @ Apr 13 2012, 07:09 PM) Ok the top right usd balance is use for diablo 3 real money auction house. In order to use that u must first load up some money into it since every item u post, no matter u sell it or not, blizz will get a cut from it. Now in the future whatever we sold in diablo3 the real money balance, u would b able to use it for whatever blizzard is selling, for example pets and mount for wow, game subscription for wow and etc. the final stage of the real money system will allow us to withdraw from it, hence if u sell a lot, u could very well make a career out of it but this stage wont be coming anytime soon since different country has got different monetary system. This is my understanding and please correct me if i am wrong Oops i forget to mention that at this moment u can buy anything in blizzard store using your credit or debit card. No restrictions. In the future u will hav options either using credit card or the in game real money currency. QUOTE(sorrowstar @ Apr 13 2012, 07:10 PM) yes, we will be directed to SG Blizz store. the $ is in SGD, not USD if you are in the SG site. both US and SG are using dollar $ for their currency, hence the confusion. it should be $90 if you are in SG site and $60 in US, which is quite unlikely if you registered your battle net account with Malaysia address =) Alright. Thanks for both explanations I see the difference now.

QUOTE(shawnk @ Apr 14 2012, 04:16 PM) All the servers you connected to will have RMAH (only for NORMAL characters) but whatever you bought from RMAH in that region, stays in that region. I see. That means we can still sell and buy in any other region RMAH, but the items will be from that region server, right?

QUOTE(shawnk @ Apr 14 2012, 04:23 PM) You can buy the item from the RMAH in any region and it would only be available in the SAME region that you acquired the item from. You can't sell it in another another region nor can you transfer it there. Alright, thanks So I guess if we don't get RMAH here, then no chance for us to sell our items for real money Not that I'm trying to make an income from playing D3, lol.

QUOTE(reijikageyama @ Apr 15 2012, 11:53 AM) then will you go hardcore for the "challenge"? i'd love to see you in Hell mode too I think he meant challenge as in the thinking part which is a huge part of RPG genre. In many older RPG games, you won't have enough points to simply level up all skills, so you have to decide what skills to choose as you build your character, this result in different kind of character build depending on the player choice. So for example, a mage can be different elemental mage (fire OR ice), not all mage come out the same. If a character or class will have all skills, then there's only one kind for that class. So, if you have 5 class, then you only have 5 different type of character, as there's no variation within each class itself.

QUOTE(SoLiD @ Apr 15 2012, 02:55 PM) you still have to spend a lot hours choosing your skills + skill rune...you are only allowed to choose 6 skills yeah they took out the stats part which is kinda sad but still doesn't mean the game is any less challenging...there is still a lot of 'thinking' to done Hmm... good to hear that. As long as we can play a class differently. QUOTE(WilliamG @ Apr 15 2012, 04:27 PM) Since everyone had the same skills and stats its so balanced that i think PvP is going to be even harder.
Btw people in this forum are selling diablo 3 for like RM 180 but asiasoft is selling RM 218 is there any diff other then Asiasoft give redeemption card?
Officially its RM218 here in Malaysia. Where are you seeing those RM180? Maybe its US version. I do know some website is selling the US version at RM186. That's the cheapest I can find.

QUOTE(dishwasher @ Apr 16 2012, 11:39 AM) Before you condemn the new system in Diablo 3, did you read up on the developers' reasoning behind the changes? Yes? No? Judging from the fact that some of you weren't even aware of this change, I doubt you actually followed the debate when the system was first presented. Most of you are kicking the proverbial dead horse, and crying woe before the game is even out. Here's a question for you all: How many of you actually played D2 til you had numerous level 80+ characters? Now tell me, how varied were the stat point distribution of those characters? Also, how fun was it to reroll a similar class again and again just to try different spells? Lastly, how original were builds after D2 matured? Just because you like a game very much doesn't mean others cannot have negative opinion about it. Be respectful to other forumer's opinion even if you don't agree with them. You're not a judge on who's opinion is valid and who's isn't. Everyone is free to have their own opinion.

QUOTE(WilliamG @ Apr 16 2012, 12:17 PM) All comes down to ur weapon and ur "finger" skill in PvP since no stats. Just worry that its same as other online game, who spend the most RM for best weapon wins >.< I plan to stay away from PvP and just focus on the single player game. I hate spending money on virtual items. Better to buy other games with that money.

QUOTE(dishwasher @ Apr 16 2012, 12:52 PM) Oh dear... Touchy one aren't you? Firstly, I'm well aware that Blizzard has their shortcomings. They've made games that I wasn't too happy about (Terran OP LOLOLOL). Diablo 3 isn't even out yet, and while I admit I do have high hopes for it, I can't very well 'like' something I don't yet own. Respecting other people's opinion is one thing, but ranting away without actually understanding the issue? Here I am trying to provide more information, explaining the reasoning behind the changes made, and hopefully getting people to think a bit by asking questions. What do I get? I'm 'judging' and not 'being respectful'. You want respect? Read up on the issue and understand the fundamental reasons behind the changes made, and then discuss it in a mature manner. Then you'll have my respect. Complaining about how things are 'casual' and 'gamers nowadays can't think' without actually providing any substance to the argument is what whiny lil kids do. Look who's talking... I'm not the one who's getting all worked up over other people's opinion. In your previous post, you are implying that people should have done this and that before they can have an opinion. Can't you just let others have their own opinion? There's no right or wrong when it comes to having an opinion. I'm not asking you to respect anyone. Just respect the rights people have. I don't care if you don't have any respect for me. I am not interested in arguing with you. You have a great time.

QUOTE(dishwasher @ Apr 16 2012, 03:34 PM) Again, complaints like 'gamers nowadays are too casual' is far from a valid opinion. Its an empty statement, plain and simple. If I come across as being annoyed, that's because I am. Page after page of people ranting about a system they barely understand and can't put in the effort to research. Are you defending this behavior? Whatever happened to having an 'informed opinion'? Sheesh. I'm not saying its right or wrong. For every game out there, we're going to read about many different opinions about it. People can say what they feel about the game, we don't have to agree with everything that's said. Because at the end of the day, it doesn't really if others really think its a bad game or not as long as you know you'll enjoy it, you'll get it and play it.
