wait i dont understand. What position you applied for? and 1 year experience in related field?
*
I try to check back my sent mail but i cannot trace any mail that i sent to them. From tele-conversation, they offer me for position Management Trainee. More like Junior Engineer they said. All job description will be explained during the interview. This makes me not sure whether my experience related to the position offered. Right now I work more on managing the project for supplying oil and gas equipment. Will I be eligible to demand for a higher salary? or just accept what they offer.

You see, its hard to determine whether you can demand for a higher salary or not because you dont know what are they offering yet. Just go to the interview first. If they offer you with 20% - 30% increment from your current salary, sound good. Just becareful and dont simply sign the offer letter. They might say the job is more like a Junior Engineer, but on paper you are still a Management Trainee. Maybe you can update us here about the job description later on.

KSTB main field is tubular services but they do provide maintenance/inspection/fishing services.

The job scope you will experience is as a field specialist.Call it a junior engineer if you want to so if you perform within certain period then you can choose to be office based or field based.

Thank you BillySteel for your information. It means that my working experience has no value for an interview later. Has anyone here can explain briefly about Tubular Service? I have been reading but still do not understand. Aiyak! sweat.gif

Greenfield is considered newly discovered field that has not been developed or in the early stage of development. Brownfield are oil and gas fields that have undergone multiple development phase and probably in the decline stage like Baram, Dulang etc etc.

So for example, Gumusut/Kikeh will be in the Greenfield stages while those Baram Delta fields are considered brownfields.

Duyong is a gas field. Last I heard, it is already in the decline stage. Once a gas field is in decline, it is not easy to increase or maintain production unlike oil field where you can do IOR (Improve Oil Recovery) or EOR/Tertiary recovery.

Most of the gas replacement is via new discovery (exploration) such as those found in Sabah & Sarawak.

hey guys, is it normal to work without knowing your salary, signing a contract, benefits etc etc?(during the interview, and post interview during accepting the job just a range of probable salary was informed).also no punch card/id tag even after a week?

for a big company, they may have a better structured organization HR etc, lets say this is semi big one to medium company, short a bit on staff and such.

should the new guy ask the hr or the reporting manager(despite the manager informing him/her on the first day the hr will come to them with the details etc)?how to proceed if its already been a week and no such communication regarding the matter came to view??

Can anyone tell me for how long does petroleum going to last because I don't want to set foot in the wrong field ( I'm still a student & the mass production of hybrid car is like a obvious indicator that petroleum level is declining right ? ). However i like this career after Googling it for like everyday but the current situation worries me .

I'm not an expert but I certainly wouldn't be comfortable in this situation. If it's been a week it's about time you asked HR about how these details will be sorted out (especially the contract ! I wouldn't really mind about the id tag)

My biggest concern in your situation would be how things would be handled in the event of an accident. From what you've said there is no official documentation that says that you're employed at the company. I really hope for your sake that you're not working on site right now.

My advice - don't wait, go and talk to HR about this.

If we know this, we won't be spending time here at LYN. We'd be one of the oil traders doing billion dollar trades everyday since we know how long the petroleum will last.
