biggrin.gif I'm the last person they interview beside a lady from SBM (my junior at college)..

The interview gone well..

Three main questions have been asked as follow:
1) Why you want to join Keppel Shipyard? I'm quite surprised when the interviewer elaborate more with 'why you want to join us, because your company's benefit is better than us'.
However,  Interviewer noted Career Advancement as per my expectation...

2) What is your strength? Interviewer noted 'Well organize' as per expectation..

3) What is your weakness? Interviewer wrote down 'No weakness'..  brows.gif

She gave me an opportunity to ask question:
1) Will they conduct 2nd interview, when? Yes, for shortlisted candidate. Within 2-3 weeks.
2) Which Keppel Group of companies are hiring? Keppel Fels and Keppel Shipyard...

She asked justification of my salary.. She accepted my explanation...

Conclusion: standard screening type of interview..

wow and hope you are successful and moving to keppel mind giving me your old company hr email i nak apply plak(of course on a grad postion la haha biggrin.gif )

hi guys, the above is some of the job scope of a general maintenance technician.any advice on the above as to what the person will be doing?in my view(from what i know a bit here and there), the technician will be doing some machine shop tasks, keeping machineries running smooth, alike to the buildings and structures.(does this include oil rigs, refinery, oil/gas terminals, vessels??) performing the ever important breakdown, pre-emptive maintenance jobs and such.and yes this position is from one of the companies in ong. anyone can shed further light? hmm.gif

Usually maintenance technicians are separated into different diciplines (mechanical, electrical, electronic, civil, instrument etc) and major maintenance that they are focusing on (or at least in my point of view) are the reactive/breakdown maintenance. predictive/preventive etc are non core maintenance, but still very2 important. Based on your JD, i can assume that the general maintenance technician position will cover electrical and mechanical, which is a lot to cover actually. this is good for personal improvement, I see a lot of electrical technician doing mechanical job proficiently, and vice versa.
And be prepared to be general worker as well, cleaner, chemical labeller (is this right lol), Hope i answer your question

thanks thats additional info to me. smile.gif

now if i can get the person whom mailed me about this job i applied to call me.(he said he tried my number but it didnt go trough, thus emailed me for contact details)

Just learning stuff. I can say I love the job so far, though I'm not good in it.  doh.gif
The PE resigned is not a senior PE but she is a senior to me. 4 years exp..
*

Btw, before I go back at home with no internet,  cry.gif I received a job offer from Geoservices yesterday. Mudlogger. I think SLB must've passed my application which I have failed during the field exposure back in Labuan. Based on what I've read from v1-v2, it's a job to avoid. So..... should I really avoid it?
*
yeah if we go by the meaning of senior as in senior, it is around that range smile.gif but none the less she has 4 years under her belt wch is quite a number.approaching a sub senior level so to speak kot biggrin.gif

U apply Kencana? The benefit Sucks especailly if u working at Lumut Yard + saturday is working, annual leave 12 days, but its a good place for training (on-job Training) for Fresh Grad. U can get Starting salary RM2500 + after confirmed 3 motnhs add RM500. Medical only cover yourself. No additonal allowance, and bonus usually 1 month.
Now waiting for Benefit adjustment (hope so) after merged with Sapura Crest, maybe on Early April. If they not adjust the benefits, then surely a lot of people will resign. Last year almost 100 was resign. Thats why they advertise in Star Jobs.

Come on Sapura Kencana Petroleum, u are now 4th Largest O&G service provider!!

and despite all of that its still a very hard company to enter lol.il gladly work with those conditions anytime but sad enough my mails x dak reply...... sweat.gif

very general. talk about yourself. then interviewer will ask questions about my background, what i do in my current job, and a quick browse at paper qualifications. then explains to me job function and the company. more of a discussion since i asked about the job scope, career development etc.
