Normally the CC number is retained when new card is issued upon expiry of the old card.

I called Public bank customer service just now.

Guess what.

THEY NO LONGER PROVIDE MASTERCARD SECURECODE SERVICE!!!!!

They only use OTP (one time password) now, sms to your handphone. Which means if a website dont ask for OTP during purchase, YOU ARE ROYALLY SCREWED!!!!

If some guy read your card and ccv number, they can basically use it to BUY ANYTHING from those websites.

Not all websites implement Mastercard SecureCode / Verified by Visa. Those that do, will be redirected to a screen prompting for the OTP

Is it a normal practice for some merchants to enter your card details on their point-of-sale (POS) computer on top of the usual swipe on the credit card terminal (that is connected to the bank for verification) ? why are merchants allowed to store your card details? anyone? thanks in advance.

For benefits like cash back, points, lounge access, free gifts, retail and F&B discounts, golf privileges, travel privileges, at least 20 days payment deferment base on statement, and many more.

for 20 days payment deferment is mean no interest is charge if pay within 20 day of purchase?

different people will have different type of spending and financial planning. we over here like to remind readers that it is best to settle all outstanding before the due date to avoid penalty interests.

example:
statement date cycle is every 18th of the month. i made a purchase of RM1000 on 20th July 2013.

This transaction will only appear on the 18th August 2013 statement, due date will be 8th or 9th September 2013.

As long as i settle everything by 8th or 9th August, no penalty interest (always pay few days before if using IBG or cheque).

Can you see the period that I can defer my payment without having to pay a single cent in interest?

Now, 20 July is a weekend and if I am using Maybank 2 cards Amex, I will get 5% rebate + 5x points, roughly equivalent to RM75 smile.gif

It has been more than 1.5 years since my last article on airport lounge was published and since then HLB and Citi VS no longer issued the Priority Pass Membership Card or allow FREE entries to LCC Plaza Premium Lounge. So instead of updating that article, I just published a new article in regards to airport lounge entry with credit cards.

Click here to read my article titled The Best Credit Card for FREE Entry to Airport Lounge 2013.

And of course the article comes with a brief review of the new Citibank Citi Prestige World MasterCard Elite that issue the Priority Pass Membership Card that grants UNLIMITED entries to airport lounges worldwide. And also my comments on HSBC World MasterCard and Visa Signature UNLIMITED entries to KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge tongue.gif

Hi, i read thru 1st post, but I think the question i wanted to ask is too noob so it wasnt stated or i dont even know which category it falls in.

Does other credit card from the same bank will share the credit limit?
EG: Card A from MBB credit limit 7K, used up 6K, left 1k
Then when apply new card B from MBB with credit limit 8K, will it be like:
8K - 6k credit from the Card A? so i actually left 3K to use on Card B?

Nowadays, Yes Most of It have to Share Credit Limit
e.g Card A $5,000 CL later Apply Card B get $5,000 CL Total Combine CL $10,000 if Card A Used $3500 It Will Remainder $6.5k CL on Card A + Card B

All my cards so far are shared limit if they are from the same bank.

Based on your example, you are only left with 2k. Since it is a shared limit, it means your CL has been increased from 7k to 8k. The 2k balance can be used by either one, card A or B.
