maybe true, assuming you make the first transaction after the statement date and the cycle end in 30 days. normal card they allow for another 20 days interest free period perhaps this card add another 30 days interest free period.

i'm not sure if someone did asked this. if merchant (online) offer to pay using paypal or their security system, considering we are using the same credit card should the transaction rate is the same between those methods? e.g. any extras charge by paypal beside the exchange rate + bank % fees?

QUOTE(b00n @ Apr 16 2013, 06:39 PM) The bank may or may not approve of such. Check back your bank's T&C. I know Citi has a clause on it whereby if a person has moved elsewhere they are required to cancel their card under clause 46: thank you, in my case not an issue about residency.http://www.citibank.com.my/english/credit-...rCode=MYCCLNTNC 46. Your Departure from Malaysia (1) If you are absent from Malaysia for more than one (1) month, you must settle the amount outstanding under your Card Account at least seven (7) days prior to your departure. (2) If you leave Malaysia to take up residence elsewhere, you will settle the amount outstanding under your Card Account and call CitiPhone or by giving prior written notice to us for cancellation at least fourteen (14) days prior to your departure. The provision relating to termination above will subsequently apply and your Card(s) and all Supplementary Card(s) (if any) must be returned to us. Because it is termed as Event of default under clause 24: (1) We may suspend, withdraw or terminate the Card, Card Account and/or any of the services offered in connection with the use of the Card with prior notice, even if we may have waived our right on some previous occasion upon the occurrences of any or more of the following events (collectively, “Events of Default” and each an “Event of Default”):- (vi) if you leave Malaysia to take up residence elsewhere; |

just to share for those who going to move to overseas for long period of time e.g. 2 years and eventually your card might expire during that period. Most banks can accept early renewal so that you can get a new card and Maybank in fact can courier card to your overseas address if you have moved to overseas.
However it is advisable to use 'local' credit card in overseas if you work there since you will not lose on the exchange rate. |

QUOTE(Confession @ Jun 28 2013, 04:42 PM) I got a refund from a ebay seller through paypal to my debit card, I seen the transaction in my paypal account and it has been credited to my card. But when I check the balance in my bank account, it isn't there ? it will take few days to get clear. if the transaction is in foreign currency you are likely to lose few cents or ringgit due to different exchange rate |

QUOTE(kytan @ Jul 31 2013, 12:25 PM) yup, if you work in Macau they could give you&that's why you got 2 cards. different bank have different policy. some banks might need at least permanent resident with min income to give card. some banks could give someone with valid visa holder with certain income to give credit card. different countries also have different policy. In Australia even international or local student can get credit card with lower limit (https://www.commbank.com.au/personal/credit-cards/low-fee/student.html)This post has been edited by cenkudu: Jul 31 2013, 04:20 PM |
