Why if i apply credit cards from some banks, even stated thru its eligibility : require mykad, latest 3 months pay slip, EA form, bank statements, EPF or latest income tax docs ; but when i applied online, the sales officer told me to fill in the form, scan my IC, and my 3 months pay slip, that's all.

I dont have any accounts with those banks, but is the docs that they asked me to submit already sufficient for the credit card approval? Banks so far: uob, citibank, ocbc and public bank.

Anyone had similar experiences?

Well, the more documents you submit, the easier their job to approve your application.

If you get approved, then its a good thing, i guess?

Does not matter whether they want strict income of proof, right?

Or does it?

Hurmp.

Quiet questionable. My friends who are working in MNC also was asked to submit all the relevant documents thou. I guess it depends.

Well, i think that if the banks i applied never ask for my epf, bank statement proof. Probably because i directly apply thru their credit card sales staff. Or does that matter?

Nope, i'm in a sdn bhd company only.

The most they asked would be employment letter and 3 months payslip.
Is it because i had used credit cards for more than 1 year? I'm not sure if they could check my history

Applied for 2 different cards at 1U just now.. was surprised to find out that all they need is your IC - insert it into the KWSP machine, use thumbnail verification and they print/check your records there. I asked if my salary slip is needed, agent said no.

When was this implemented? hmm.gif

I have asked this kind of question to SA before, bank will know roughly what is your income earn for monthly based on the EPF report.

If yr EPF report have continuously in from your salary by monthly, obviously bank will know you are working and how much for your salary now. That why SA only need your IC to print out your report.

I Remember when walking around in shopping center where the space got CC booth, when you walk through there then SA will tell you something about promotion for this credit card, and following by "only your IC is need", sth like this...

Now so convenience for people to apply CC

It's kinda funny, since the SA asked me to scan my ic , payslips and email back to them. How are they going to check my rough epf credited, if they dont have my thumbprint or my physical mykad on the spot ? Seems like oversea banks are very loose on the application, such as uob, ocbc, citibank, hsbc..etc

Even if you earn all those amounts you listed total is RM370. Sounds like a lot of work (not everything can be done online) for RM370. Jual DVD at night also earn more la =) don't even talk about money-making with nasi lemak etc.

Banks are not so stupid as to give you big big benefits without your spending money through them.

It should be by 26/01, in other word, payment should be made latest on 26/01. However, there are a few things you need to take into account when making a payment, be it through the counter, online transfer from another bank, mail-in cheque, cheque bank-in through cheque deposit machine, through cash deposit machine and so on. It is advisable not to pay your bill too last minute.

i applied cimb credit card today and emailed them my form, ic, and latest payslip. when asked if they need any other supporting, they said no need. when i checked their website, they need bank statements and epf statement. why credit cards are so easy to apply ? i hope i can get approved so i can use it immediately. can banks check our epf account thru their banking system? or check my savings account with other banks?
