Which bank has the best cashback?
HSBC? Citibank?  There's also this new bank called Mach by Hong leong bank. I was approached by their promoter in Giant yesterday and she gave me cash bank on the spot.

I spent nearly RM200 for my weekly grocery, they asked for my receipt and they gave me RM8 in cash!

I'm not a mach customer and I actually used another bank's credit card to pay then, but they told me they are trying to create awareness about their double cash back.

So anyhow I've checked out their website and oso a thread in Low yat about the cc and it seems very good and reasonable. But how does it compare with other banks? I currently have HSBC card. Thanks for your advice.

if you're looking at cashback, i think ocbc titanium is still the best.

KWSP, even if u work as hard as a cow but if you dont have an active KWSP account also cannot apply.

then i was wondering....if the particular person dont work anymore....and have alot of money to spend but dont want to carry out so many cash with him.

my situation is more worse than the one that i mention about above. anyone out there have solution to this matter?

is it really hard to get a credit card? Almost everyday got people reporting here in this sub-section that they just received their new credit card. Maybank 2 cards approved within an hour. If you check out MACH Thread, application approved in 10 minutes!

Do anyone know if there is a way to disable Verified by Visa for a Malaysian card from banks such as Citibank? The problem is that, what if we do not have a working phone while traveling outside of Malaysia.

From my quick search, there is no such information on the official website for Malaysia.

UK - http://www.citibank.co.uk/personal/banking...ure/faqs.htm#g1

or is there such thing as this - http://support.commbank.com.au/app/answers...~/netcode-token

Thanks for any help smile.gif

Because you can't opt out. If you're on a postpaid line, just activate your roaming service before going overseas. For those on prepaid line, roaming service is automatically activated when you're overseas. Receiving SMS overseas is totally free.

No. Citibank Malaysia doesn't have this kind of security token and even if they do, it is not the answer to your problem as this security token is for strictly for online banking and not VbV or MasterCard SecureCode.

HSBC for instance, is using only this type of security token for its online banking. There is no SMS option at all. However, for its credit card VbV and MasterCard SecureCode, it will send a 6-digit code to your registered mobile phone number like all other banks.

Thanks, the problem is when the traveling to a country where a non-3G-GSM phone stops working. Like Japan for example. Well, one of the option would probably get a new 3G prepaid number + phone and update it with the bank to be able to receive the sms. T_T

Found few more links related to it :

Do note that they will be phasing out the security questions option completely next month. And the security questions option is strictly for its online banking service only and has nothing to do with their VbV/MC SecureCode. When they introduced VbV/MC SecureCode just not so long ago, SMS OTP has always been the only and default option smile.gif

The answer would be to just get a 3G phone with the right band support. These days I cant think of any telco not using a non-3G SIM unless your card is very old.
Hassle is just once off, please don't make it sound bad as if the bank is doing you a great injustice.

Shell. Many Petronas stations do not accept AMEX anymore. At the select few Petronas stations that still accept AMEX, you need to go to the counter.

You may refer to the above thread to know which are the merchants that accept AmEx (not only limited to petrol stations). Of course you can start contributing when you have one. biggrin.gif

Maybank Visa or MasterCard. To check participating merchant list, go to M2U --> Latest Promotio --> Maybankard --> Look for 5X TP Ezy Pay Promo and from they you will see the link. Or click below link

I performed Online Bill Payment for Astro via
1. OCBC Online Banking
2. SCB Online Banking
Both were done on the 16-Sep-2012 (few mins apart)

The SCB payment was reflected earlier compared to OCBC.... brows.gif
