counted from statement date. in other words, there will be no interest charged if you pay all outstanding before the statement due date.

MasterCard Worldwide actually operates a lounge at KLIA Satellite Terminal ? This is news to me. I guess it's a new lounge ?

By the way, HSBC gives their HSBC Premier World MasterCard and HSBC VISA Signature cardholders an additional 10% off on top of the usual HSBC rewards points when shopping at some of the airside shops (KLIA) biggrin.gif

Me too did not even know about MasterCard Lounge until ronnie mentioned it at Airport Thread.

To ALL: If you do win the RM1,000,000 because you read my article on it, you can thank me by rewarding me a bottle of Louix XIII smile.gif

Not sure about Eraman but I've got the discount before when buying magazines (the small magazine kiosk located on the left when coming down from the escalator). You'll also get the discount when buying chocolates and perfumes there. I think it's called Flying Emporium. I'm not sure if it's the same as Eraman.

Yes. It's a discount which is given right away when you hand over them your HSBC Premier World MasterCard or HSBC VISA Signature. But, there were a few times that the cashier forgot to give me the discount but luckily I reminded them just before they slot my credit card into the credit card terminal biggrin.gif

i've been told by a friend not to put my savings into the same bank account as my credit card, as there is a risk that scammers can access it when they have access to your credit card/or if your credit card gets stolen and abused, the bank will auto-deduct from your bank account.

is it true at all or is it just a myth? thinking of transferring money every month from the bank account i get my salary from(Rhb) to my credit card's(Maybank).

There is always a risk when you have online account, that's why nowadays the better security feature is one that sends you a OTP before you can do any transaction with your online account. If your phone also got stolen, too bad.

As for auto deduct - I don't think the bank will do it for fraud cases BUT if you fail to pay your credit card bills or have outstanding balances and can't pay the minimum 5%, yes, they will deduct from your banking account and it is mentioned in the T&C.

both accounts have the OTP feature, and it's been pretty safe for me so far. i've been doing alot of online banking.

i have no issues with my credit card bills/payments as i'm very strict with my spending, so there's no further risk for me to do it right?

Bro, if it is clearly a fraud case, we don't really have to worry since our maximum liability is RM250. However, if it due to one's negligence, like reporting they lost their credit card "late", then it is subjective.

Just to add, in all my many years of using credit card - no funny issues ever been done or occurred.
It's when you fail to meet your obligation end as a cardholder will something happen - bank is not to be blamed if such.

Pink Spider and knighty ... if you have such doubts, please contact your bank to cancel your credit card. You are right as there's no such thing as perfection in this world and the only way is not to own a card in the beginning to open such probability. If you wish to make negative comments without any confidence in our banking system then please don't be a hypocrite by holding a credit card / debit card.

at risk of offending a dear MODERATOR, I would like to ask, especially since he's From: 서울, South Korea, "DO U EVEN STAY IN MALAYSIA? DO U HAVE LAYMEN FRIENDS? all your posts sound like u live in a perfect world, living by the laws and standards but the real world is NOT that straightforward."

So I hold a card from XXX Bank, does that rob me of the right to have doubts and ask questions? I DON'T SEE THIS AS BEING HYPROCRITICAL.

I don't think I've made any negative comments, all I did was question the risk/likeliness of it happening.

The point of me asking was to find out whether those scam/other issues are happening to users that are careless with their transactions/accounts, or whether it can happen to the general public regardless of how well protected u are.

You asked an open-ended question (regarding credit card and touching on banking system safety) with no absolute answers. I feel you are not having doubts per se but seeking reassurance that other people share the same concerns you have. I'm sure everyone here have the same concerns. But saying you have serious doubts and continuing to use the facilities does not jive with your position.
