This craze turned this “fine city” into a “war zone”. Ugly human dramas, such as fights, vandalism, jumping queue, quarrels, dumping unwanted burgers and trash, became the foci of mass media coverage. McDonald’s was under fire for creating chaos. It was criticized by the Consumers’ Association of Singapore and the Federation of Merchants’ Association. Even the government showed its concern. Deputy Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said: “Once in a while is alright, but we should not get too carried away. Even if you want the Kitty, there is no need to fight fiercely to try and get one (Straits Times, February 2000).” makiyo dupe spotted QUOTE(senyii @ Feb 15 2012, 08:11 PM) What is the engineering market in Sg now?a lot job vacancy?sigh in thinking if I transfer here after a year I'll change to another co..will this be possible?how hard to find job in Sg? you mean how? so far doing well, oil n gas is expanding, new LNG terminal is opening.. construction is down... anything is possible.. very easy, just say cheese u never try you never know la..

Singapore is definitely less discriminatory compare to other nations. It a smaller case of course. May not be for you. But maybe for Indians, Pinoy and other nationalities. Once you reach the age of 35-40, you will understand more about discrimination. It can be in many forms. So, you need to 'blend' in to fight them. Work smart.

QUOTE(Materazzi @ Feb 3 2012, 03:29 PM) my friend left sg for good, got RM8k/month. In sg, he is P1 qualified with S$8k/month. He said 8k in sg is nothing, room rent already 2.5k, 2k for others. left 3.5k but cannot live like a KING. His room rental can easily be cut out to 1.3 to 1.5k and thats a whole unit. Anyway, can he survive back in MY with 8k?....

Live like king? If he's earning RM8K outside Klang Valley then perhaps yes.
Sgd8k is way above average Singapore population's earning. Some more in Singapore, no one has asked me to go back China, or Malaysia.

well, about my interview earlier this week, i pretty much spent about 30minutes getting killed and owned by the GM, where he boldly mentioned that I am not adaptable, not flexible, and technical minded ( he is is looking for someone with more commercial minded). Sent a thank you letter the day after the interview, and the HR said will revert to me by Friday(today). But today the HR said still cannot conclude their selection yet. My guess is that, I did bad, but the others did worse. lol
