QUOTE(Amy09 @ Oct 4 2013, 02:11 PM) hi want to ask all pros here use Black pleasefor western digital is it using cavier black to run OS better than using WD green run OS? performance wise? stability? Green performance is only suitable for normal storage, and it's also quite unreliable in some cases I have a WD green that causes system hangups occasionally when used as internal drive. Works fine in an external hdd case. I have a few friends with similar issues too. |

QUOTE(kamechi @ Oct 4 2013, 10:18 AM) anyone know where to claim warranty for Western Digital External HDD MyPassport? I contacted Achieva they said don cover EXT HDD.. Just register here :https://westerndigital.secure.force.com/ Register your disk, raise RMA then it'll generate barcode label for you which you need to stick on the box and follow their packing instructions. source from: rjb123 |

Just wondering, if I'm going for RAID 1 2x2TB, is WD Red suitable? I mean, I'm just backing up, now using it to transfer files via Network..

Western Digital Unleashes All-New WD Black Family of Hard Drives with Up To 48% Higher Performance.
QUOTE Western Digital’s new WD Black FZEX family of HDDs feature all new dual-core application processor that brings in WD’s Dynamic Cache Technology, which increases performance by improving caching algorithms in real time and optimizing the cache allocation between reads and writes. This results in the drive automatically allocating more cache for read data, which reduces data congestion and increases overall performance. According to WD’s internal tests, the new 1TB drives are 26% faster than the predecessors (WD Black FAEX family) and the 4TB model increases performance by dramatic 48% in certain benchmarks. http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/storage/displ...erformance.html http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/library/Spec...2879-771434.pdf |

Just bought a bunch of Reds for my next system build since it's the cheapest TLER option.
