It must be foolish question here,

Anyone using extension tube for nex?how it look like, performance IQ wise?

I use it with Nikkor Macro 55. Good results. Less bulky compared to bellows. Serve my purpose.

i will really wait for the official price and review of 35mm when it comes into malaysia... if seriously selling 1.5k over here...

i might just go for the 24Z18 although double the price...

or perhaps, 35mm lover can consider sigma 30mm as well? maybe by that time, there will be more 3rd party lens for e-mount?

Interesting information you have put forward. Can you please give your personal experience? I personally own 3 units with 3 different manufacture markings. They all work great except of one unit and I am fully aware of its shortcomings. I am very interested in your experience so that I can take necessary precautions.

Of the three that I own, two units perform close to the original battery. For the price, CIF Malaysia ~US15/- ; in my opinion if capable of 75% capacity is acceptable.

I am using a 5N body.

I am aware OEM battery for NIKON camera has issues.

Speaking of batteries, I'm thinking to get this from ebay to try. Anyone used or bought from this seller fotocola before? Great deal below USD10.

taken with Nikkor Macro 55f2.8 unedited and hand held ( So happen I have a second similar lens waiting delivery to a friend)

Left stack are the extension tubes mid stack is the Sony E to Nikon adapter.

Most of the time serious macro have to be taken in manual especially if you intend to venture into stack photo . These ancient lens are time tested, very sharp and sold for a song and dance in eBay.

Hmmm 1.5k for the 35mm, the IQ gotta make up for it.
Was expecting price of 1k like the 50mm.

I bought those batteries only from the local seller, which I can test during COD.
I bought Octopus one for NEX-5, the seller said the previous model are not compatible for newer 5N model which will show no battery inserted.
But luckily mine is OK which might be the latest which work with the 5N also.
Later i got from another LYN seller which himself is also NEX user and give warranty himself that the battery is working and his is 50% higher capacity.

So for any brand, you must test it before buy. better COD, don't try to save more and buy those cheapest online which might not working.
And most important, use only the original Sony charger provided which have safety feature.

Thanks for the update. It is useful data. Lucky for me, all the battery I got are online and they work. I will rephrase- my battery that was marked Pisen runs good and I have another in the order line too.

From what I know of LiPo, how it is charge for storage are contributing factors. Rule of the thumb is cycle them and don't buy them to keep. They will die especially if you do not use it. Regular charge will help. Once it over discharge, the probability of it being dead for good is very high. There are tricks you can do to resuscitate it but not for the faint heart. You end up burning down your house if you do not know what you are doing. LiPo battries are not forgiving.

Most reasonable quality LiPo specific chargers must have inbuilt charge control parameters. No big secret now unlike the early years. You will know - if it does not... very likely, you will have to live in the streets after that! mad.gif Just do not allow the battery to short circuit during transit. A lot of the story we hear of battery exploding in the pockets is due to improper transport. Most new battery has the connecting tabs deeply recessed to avoid such issues. notworthy.gif

Anyone interested in an EOS-NEX adapter? brows.gif Will be useful to anyone who would like to use Canon EF lens with Sony NEX E mount. icon_idea.gif

Never tried with EFS lens but vignetting might occur as EFS is for 1.6x crop and Sony NEX is 1.5x crop...
