hi all, i've been doing reading on the NEX 5N and noticed the extremely good performance in low light/high ISO. Can I ask existing NEX 5N users here, how often do you really need to use flash indoors with the 1855 lens, if you set the ISO to say 3200? anyone got sample photos taken indoor/low light at ISO3200 without flash?
thanks!!

not many, i guess will be hard to get enough ppl for group buy... QUOTE(Kierrs @ Jul 3 2012, 07:08 PM) I'm interested in F3, but planning to get it this Friday. Do you think you can gather enough people before then? Is RM1,800 considered a good deal for F3K (card+bag)?

This is where power of internet comes in...if you can find 100 Ppl group buy, and assuming profit per camera is rm100 ( or more?), that's 10k profit in just 1/2 day maybe.... Thats a good motivation for any seller.. and means a huge bargaining power on the group... QUOTE(mavericksam @ Jul 6 2012, 01:57 PM) Seriously doubt you could find meaningful number to make up for group buy... but i got my 7 kit for 4169 if that is any help at all... else i think bintang in bb plaza is selling 7 body only for 3.8k if i am not mistaken... but... since bb plaza would be torn down by end of the year, you better be sure or be quick... good luck hunting...

QUOTE(mavericksam @ Jul 9 2012, 08:56 AM) Errm... listed is 1280 at their website... besides it is silver only... not black...

has anyone tried mounting canon EFS lenses (e.g. cheapo legendary 50mm F1.8) onto the NEX 5N/F3 and do manual focus with the focus peaking feature? if that is possible, it is another good option instead of the expensive sony 50mm 1.8. update: fuh... anyone here tried something like that? http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp...essage=41772022for the price of the sony 50mm 1.8, you can get a canon 50mm 1.4 and do manual focus! hi all, i'm a new DSLR user and initially thought of getting the NEX 5N or F3. however, before jumping in, I'm giving a 550d a test.
I was hoping to get some comments and help from NEX 5N/F3 owners here, if you have used the 550D with 50mm 1/8 before, can the 5N/F3 with 18-55 or SEL16 lens come close to image quality/bokeh of the 550D/50mm1.8?
Hope someone here who used 500d and now using NEX 5N can share and advise... Thank you so much!

Thanks for the inputs. Well the canon 50mm 1.8 costs a fraction of the sony 50mm so can't complain so much But what's important is you feel nex 5n can give you equally good photos in terms of bokeh, depth of field, sharpness? That's very good to hear...

Hi all,
Just stepped into NEX world with a NEX-C3. Wow, I love the panorama function.
A question - is anyone here using Canon EF/EFS lens with their NEX? using the EOS-E mount adapter? I have a Canon EF 50mm 1.8 and was thinking to try it with my NEX... but just wonder if the image quality can be close to the Sony SEL50F18?
Anyone tried? Thanks!

Think manual focus is not a problem at all with the wonderful peaking feature. I'll find the adapter and try it out thanks QUOTE(geek8585 @ Jul 20 2012, 09:30 AM) I never been on this lens previously so can't comment... but SEL50F18 so far is the best lens reviewed by many in e-mount series right after the Zeiss lens... 1 thing for sure is you will lost autofocus in using non e-mount lens... maybe u should snap a few n share with us? How about comparing Canon 50mm 1.4 with SEL50F18 then? QUOTE(0168257061 @ Jul 20 2012, 07:43 PM) Generally. See the cost also know bro. canon one cost rm300, while sony one is 3 times more. Aluminium vs Plastic 7 or 9 blades aperture vs 5 blades ( pentagon sharp bokeh is damn fugly OSS vs non. well shouldn't compare in the first place since both price gap are so big

hi all, just want to ask - how often or when do you guys use the SEL16F28 lens? I've been using mainly the 1855 only, can took some sample shots between both to compare but can't see much benefits other than slightly wider angle and probably just a bit more compact. I don't think the SEL16 gives sharper photos compared to the 1855.... Added on July 23, 2012, 7:37 amRM249 list price according to Sony. If you're in US or have family/friends in US, Amazon sells it for about RM170+ after conversion: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-NPFW50-Recharge...words=sony+fw50and if you dare - get 3rd party from ebay, as low as RM23 incl shipping! e.g. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NP-FW50-NPFW50-Bat...#ht_2514wt_1110but use at your own risk. For me, I would get the ebay 3rd party, and only use it for short time backup purpose (e.g. while waiting to recharge the ori FW50) QUOTE(geek8585 @ Jul 22 2012, 09:51 PM) Added on July 22, 2012, 11:28 pmanyone know how much is a FW50 genuine battery?
