Some ppl suggest u can buy from KEH.com, good condition, good pricing too.

I also looking to get some 50mm manual focus. Any other got any recommendation where I can get?

Now i got about 5 pcs of 50mm legacy prime lenses from ebay.
It is like gambling to bid on ebay! sweat.gif

My next target will be Voigtlander Nokton 35mm or 40mm F1.4!!!

NEX5 to NEX5N = Waja 1.5 to Waja 1.6  sad.gif
NEX5 to NEX7  = Waja 1.5 to BMW M3        flex.gif

i hope u understand  thumbup.gif

5N have significant improve on the sensor, which have very high ranking in Image quality and high ISO performance.
And the touch focusing is great for direct composing! the IQ on review seems better than NEX7!

The 7 is great with EVF, built-in flash, hot shoe and Tri-navi, while the size and weight and just slightly increased.
but the price is too much different for upgrade 5N and 7, since EVF is not my main concern.

for that price i rather go for better brand lens + adapter!
Voigtlander Nokton 25mm f/0.95 MICRO 4/3 mount will be better option with similar price. Although got vignetting at corners but still better glass.
Even can just top up some to get Voigtlander 50mm 1.1 M mount or other zeiss and leica.

even the 18-55 kit lens can produce the bokeh and nice portrait shots with the right control of aperture, object and background distance.
after u get the NEX, there are frequent free Sony Lifestyle workshop to get you right on track.
Yesterday i just join the Home Portrait shot with NEX workshop, it is really nice to get you hands on with the basic NEX kit lens and lighting u can get at home.

In future, then u can invest the SEL50F18 for portrait, i just tested it at the workshop. Really easy to use AF, fast and sharp!
If have low budget, can try to get those legacy lens like minolta 50/1.7, Konica Hexanon 50/1.7, etc which just cost few hundreds but with nice optic. but then u need to get used to Manual Focus!

why don't you request for try and buy?
so test it directly, if ok then only take and pay on the spot.
this will be better way.

It will be quite affordable classic zoom lenses which have solid build. All come with cap.

+ Rm500++ for the OSS, it doesnt seems right to me... And OSS is not a must for 50mm to me, but sure its an advantage  smile.gif

If its 55-200mm , then OSS is a must nod.gif

Hah! Just realized you guys were also talking about the Konica Hexanon lens a few pages back, now I feel glad with my purchase. Sometimes worry make wrong decision coz not expert at all sweat.gif
haha! nice to here someone else is getting Konica Hexanon lens too!
here I think mainly is me to play on Konica Hexanon lenses, because it is not common mount. rolleyes.gif
Same like u, I opt for Konica Hexanon for its affordable price and quite a good reputable sharp prime lenses.
The most reputable one is 57mm F1.2, but the price is too high and very rare! (not to mentionthe M-Hexanon 50mm F1.2 for Leica M mount which is super over price!) shocking.gif

So i go for 50mm F1.4 (F16 early version) which someone said it is the cheaper successor for 57/1.2 with the same 7 elements in 6 groups design.
It is still rare compare to 50mm F1.7. Now the 50/1.4 is always with my camera beside the SEL18200.
Now I have collected for Konica Hexanon: 40/1.8, 50/1.4 (early), 57/1.4 (white ring), 50/1.7 (early F16), 50/1.7(late F22), 28/3.5 (early), 135/3.5(early), 135/3.5(late), 80-200mm F4.5 (late compact zoom).

All bid from Ebay, some are come in package. it is quite a gambling to bid from ebay, especially worry on getting defected items or worst missing parcel! sweat.gif
I think i have enough Konica Hexanon unless can get good deal on the UC version!
My next target will be the Voigtlander or Zeiss, but i think i need to sell off most of the lenses to fund it! doh.gif

but i really cant tahan the weight and size of old lens ( for those tele zoom), its terrible  doh.gif

yes, that's the major set back!
the older the heavier because mostly metal built! the later will have more plastic and the size is getting smaller.

You sure have a very huge collection of Konicas, struck by LBA? laugh.gif And I assume the 135mm f3.5 is good, coz you even bought 2! I'm still missing a macro atm, have anything in mind to recommend? A few sites did mention Konica Macro-Hexanon AR 55mm f3.5, but working distance seems rather near which may not be appropriate in some cases.

As for missing parcel, so far I haven't experience any even with the cheap First Class Mail. For more expensive and fragile items, I'll opt for Priority Mail which is faster and trackable.
RM100 is a pretty good price, especially including postage. Haiz, guess my timing not right... Always got "rivals" rebut-rebut with me.
ISO kinda high lor, ady can see some minor noise tongue.gif
*
First i got poisoned by Xenon9 from PhotoMalaysia on those classic MF lenses, and i buy the Schneider Kreuznach 50mm F2.8 from him.
Then I started looking for good fast prime lens which <RM500. Then I search online and knew that Konica Hexanon lenses is one of the good quality and affordable lenses for NEX. From there I start ebaying for 50/1.4 but no luck. Then look for 57/1.4 and 50/1.7 and the massive ebaying journey is started! rclxub.gif
Some duplicated lens are due to it come from a set of multiple lenses. but non of it are identical as older lens are more heavier and got its own uniqueness.
Now I also have 3 old film camera came along.... sweat.gif i scared to start playing it to fall into film camera poison.... sweat.gif
beside Konica Hexanon, i found Schneider Kreuznach lenses are solid, sharp and provide unique feeling too! wink.gif

I dare not try First Class mail anymore. It is extremely slow, not traceable and high rate of missing! I have once the item arrived after 60days!!! vmad.gif
Now I rather pay more for Express Mail international which is slightly expensive than priority mail but it is very fast and safe, handled by EMS/Poslaju. sometime the cost of shipping is taken big portion of the total cost but it is better than missing parcel and long waiting and guessing game! doh.gif

i don't think LA-EA2 + SAL1650 is the lens for you wink.gif

if not mistaken i read somewhere online said that LA-EA2 with alpha lens still AF quite slowly unsure.gif
*
Don't rely only on those online and hearsay info. better to test and feel it yourself.
I have tested myself together with one of the Sony workshop instructor and we found the SAL50F18 with LA-EA2 have very fast AF!

So how's the lens?

I have tested the SEL50F18 even on my NEX-5 only, AF quite fast in hotel room lighting.
but for me i already have many of those classic 50mm fast lenses, and i already OK to do MF, i will pass this.
