QUOTE(loon1983 @ Aug 30 2012, 06:58 PM) then i should say bye bye to nex 6 n choose 5r. i need 188 flip screen more than the viewfinder n hotshoe... Don't forget nex 6 got the pop up flash, which is so much more convenient... A question: nex 7 can set to use viewfinder only ? means the screen will not response, in order to have better battery life...

A question: nex 7 can set to use viewfinder only ? means the screen will not response, in order to have better battery life... Actually, using the EVF is actually more power consuming compared to using LCD. The 7 has a proximity sensor. So when your face (or anything else) comes close to the EVF, the camera automatically switches from LCD to EVF. As for your question, yes, you can set it that way, but the screen won't totally show dark screen. The minimum you can set is to show the camera settings page (something like the old quick-navi screen on the A700/850/900) This post has been edited by lwliam: Aug 30 2012, 10:34 PM

felixyukito: No issues. Most/all chargers have a converter for voltages from 110V to 250V (Malaysia is running on 240VAC)

usually if you buy out from box warranty, its only covered in the country you buy it in... for international warranty, usually you'd have to pay more

QUOTE(Squallvalentine @ Aug 31 2012, 05:46 PM) Hello...anyone noe when the Nex 5R reach malaysia..thx^^ assuming that we have the same release date as US QUOTE(watdahell @ Aug 29 2012, 11:10 PM) hands on video available at the link below! releases at mid oct thought can get it at end of sept QUOTE http://www.engadget.com/2012/08/29/sony-announces-nex-5r/We took Sony's latest ILC for a quick spin, and noticed improvements immediately, especially when it came to the focusing system -- going side-by-side with the C3, the newer camera was able to focus much more quickly and accurately in low-light, even with the standard (and generally unimpressive) 18-55mm kit lens. Touchscreen functionality was present as well, just as it was on the 5N, though you can navigate all of the menus with dedicated controls, should you wish. We weren't able to test WiFi functionality, but it sounds promising in theory, especially considering the optional apps. We'll be taking a much closer look once Sony releases its NEX-5R in mid-October - the camera will ship in black, silver or white for $650, or $750 with the standard 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens. For now, you can take a closer look in our gallery below, or the hands-on video after the break. Edit: Sony Store US has indicated that the stock will be availble from oct 19 that's almost 2 months from now This post has been edited by watdahell: Aug 31 2012, 06:18 PM

There comes. Hmmm 1.5k for the 35mm, the IQ gotta make up for it. Was expecting price of 1k like the 50mm. Source: http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/sr5-full-li...spetember-12th/

It's considered 'kit' but should be another higher-priced package so the original 18-55 stays.

35mm lenses are most of the time if not always more expensive than 50mm ones. Furthermore, both have OSS, so that levels up the playing field in terms of tech, leaving optics to be the deciding factor in price.

Great news for the release of new lenses. But i think I will skipped for 35/1.8 since I already happy with the Voigtlander 28/2.0. But Sony 16-50 f/3.5-5.6 OSS pancake zoom sounds interesting!!

Great news indeed, at least this will shut up those who kept complaining that more lenses are needed. Now, let's see if they will start buying them or not, or are they just a bunch of hot air.
