The are people in forums who claim the 16mm is in shortage atm (while those with stock are charging higher prices), which might explain the lack of stock for 5ND package.

16mm is wide angle, but really not that much wider laugh.gif

To N7 users, where did you guys bought your N7?
I am considering either buy a EVF for my 5N or just upgrade to N7.

Add some more question.
If I buy a N7 USA set from Ebay/Amazon, basically the warranty gone case when I go back to Malaysia, is that correct? To N7 current users, you guys are not afraid of one day the camera stop working?
Is the battery charger of US set universal?

pls don, the 16mm not only nice for it wide, but its the only lens which u can add in the fisheye adaptor at around RM300 and you have 16mm fisheye 2.8 lens.

that is the cheapest ever autofocus 16mm fisheye 2.8 lens and you get all the fun of this fisheye

For 16MM F2.8, you could either add a fisheye converter or an ultra wide converter.

7 is available locally. Even if you ordered from US, might need to wait too. Better pay full price and order from Sony Center. The cable that come with my charger is 2 round pin plug.

Maybe because 50mm the subject will be bigger than say 30mm? I'm no optical engineer so I have no idea. Or is the reviewer talking about the same lens but at different focal length? hmm.gif
f3.5 too slow for my liking, f2.8 is same with 30mm Sigma E-mount tongue.gif f2 should be good enough, but the UC Hexanon you mentioned sounds perfect... 28mm (right focal length) and f1.8 (decent speed). I guess the same basic rule applies here: you get what you paid for and good things don't come cheap laugh.gif

I have found a discussion comparing a 50mm F1.4 Vs 28mm F1.4...good reading haha

It's already on sale in Msia since February but limited stock. Street price around rm100-200 cheaper than SRP. Call Sony Center for more info.

all the lenses with only 1 focal length, ie 16mm, 50mm, 30mm, 200mm etc cannot zoom.
those with range, ie 18-55mm, 18-200mm, 55-210mm etc are zoom lens.

50mm is not slow, its bacause ppl thinks its a low light lens, they go tested it on low light situation, but pls don't forget, nex is a contrast detect, it requires contrast and light to lock. Used it daytime for portrait, its fast.

I think overheating during video mode is pretty common in NEX. I got this on my 5N after 15min of shooting. I heard lifting the screen can help reduce it.

I have heard from a NEX owner, which he said not to shoot video on NEX more than 15 mins, because it will damage the sensor. It's not mean to shoot video but still picture.
