Guide contribute by Prevail follow the steps below:- 1. download chevronWP7 certificate and chevronWP7 unlocker. 2. attach chevronWP7 certificate to an email and send to you WP7 email account. 3. download the email attachemnt(do not save the certificate). execute the certificate in the email. 4. connect you phone to the desktop/laptop. and turn on Zune. 5. go to c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc and search for a file called "host". right click the files and select properties. uncheck "read only" 6. Make sure Zune and your phone are connected then run the chevronWP7 unlocker. 7. check the 2 box and click on Unlock. try to disbale Zune auto start when phone connected. or else the next time you connected ya phone to that desktop/laptop. it will lock again. so u have to repeat steps 1 - 7 again to unlock. to sideload, make sure you donwload windows phone 7 SDK first.

1. Sign up for a Windows LIVE account (www.hotmail.com) that is registered to a real Singapore address. Go search for a real Singapore post code from the net. It doesn't matter if you don't live there. I don't know if it matters, but select the 'hotmail.com' option
2. Once you've done that, go to www.xbox.com. First thing you do is the change locale at the top left corner from US (by default) to Singapore. Not sure if this matters, but just in case. Then choose the JOIN NOW option at the top right corner.
3. When you are redirected to the type of Xbox Live account page you want, you can opt for the FREE option.
4. In the page where you are required to key in your email, type in the email you've just created. You will then be redirected to a page when you need to key in some basic contact details. Do the necessary. For some strange reason, the month of your birthday selection box will be in Chinese but since its arranged numerically, it's not an issue unless you cannot count to 12. Click I ACCEPT to proceed.
5. In the next page, you can set your 'gamertag' of your choice. A gamertag is your nickname/avatar on Xbox Live. The first time is free so choose wisely. To change your gamertag next time, its 800 MS points or about RM30. After choosing your gamertag, go back to MY ACCOUNT.
6. Under the ACCOUNT INFORMATION option, choose EDIT PAYMENT OPTIONS. In the next page, fill in a real Singapore address you chose earlier and click NEXT.
7. In the next page is where you fill up your Malaysian credit card details. Do the necessary. No need to change the Singapore address you've just keyed in. Click NEXT to proceed.
8. And you're done! Your credit card is now linked to your LIVE account.* Note that if you've created a fresh LIVE account for this, you need to hard reset your phone and tie in the new LIVE account. That also means that all your contacts and info on LIVE (Messenger, hotmail, etc) is gone. Sorry.
*Okay. I have to note that I did not make any transactions to see if my card works with this newly created account. My card (Citibank Visa) works with my existing LIVE account so there should be no reason that it doesn't. So, please report back if this doesn't work ok? No need to complain or b**** about it.

For those dev-unlocked HTC device which have problem getting the HTC Driver Update right after Mango.
ok. i tried twice on this method and confirm this is working. please use this method under your own risk. i will not be holding any responsible if anything went out of control.
1. download U2M7720.xap(thanks To ansar for this) at http://www.mediafire.com/?535d02w4tc7qo6j 2. side load to you HTC device. 3. execute the app and select DoNotU2B2 4. when Configuring Device appear. press on "tick" 5. wait until it execute finish. press "Done" 6. connect your phone to Zune and execute Zune. 7. go Setting, Phone, Update 8. it take a longer time to detect but it will prompt u HTC drive update is available. 9. update it and it will look like normal update.
do not worry about your dev-unlocked. it will still be able to sideload.
once the driver updated. u will see some improvement over your device. such as more responsive device and better battery saving too. credit to fulat
hi there, new member report here; just bought htc 7 mozart last week, and had upgrade to latest 7.10.7720.68, and my problem is how to change the display language to Chinese? because inside the region+language i can't find the way to change the display language option, just show out got English only, anyone know about this problem?

we all unable to set display language too, if recall back it has to do with regional restricted by M$. unless you opt diffrent region rom (not sure how its work)
I'm still baffled on why most mobile sites, for example Google, YouTube, Naver, and even lowyat, facebook, twitter etc have this fuzzy icons all over it. Doesn't look good at all. I'm sure this has to do with the browser.

Lately, the more common problem is, I can send fb message, but when people reply, I can't see. I use my home's Wifi and U Mobile 3G also the same... hmm...
make sure your facebook website do not open at the same time if not the msg priority will go to fb first and sometimes it wont pushed to phone if you reply in fb page

not having this problem... just sometimes unresponsive only.... maybe january I'll send mine in too... but I prefer for them to pickup my phone instead rather than going to their centre any HTC store.

HTC garden is a collection point only. normally once u leave it there for warranty. it will only reach repair center in 2-3 days. so which mean your device will be late 2-3 days for late attend.
alll HTC device will be send back to 2nd floor, Wisma Goodyear located at Kelana Jaya Business center, SIS distrubtion center to claim warranty.

i sent my hd2 to SIS near lowyat before, very good service, should be best services. took three days to fix the phone as promised. i think no one handphone warranty services can beat SIS at this moment.

[/quote] i mess up the zune and internet tethering port. until my HD7 are no long recognise in zune mode and can not charge. so i send it to service centre to ask them force the factory default 7004 firmware in for me so i can use HSPL to flash it into custom unlock ROM and revert back those setting. anyway... they told me can not and i have to change my motherbord for that. they quoted me RM900+ for changing the motherboard which i knew a goldcard and a Y-Cable can resolve my problem. so i take back being repair.

they knew we can install illegal software on wp7 and also cutom ROM. anyway... my level of requirement of support is way beyond them to help me. i willing to pay for the force flash back 7004 at a price of RM200 by just doing that. they cant help me.

at the end... i fixed up my problem with RM28.40.
apart from that... i shall thanks them to force me to make my first goldcard and Y-cable which successfully go back to 7004 and then install with custom ROM.
so practically now who want to go go custom ROM or those who have a full/half brick HTC device can be done by me with a surcharge.

eh tell me, what's the benefit of using titan rom other than the camera setting thing ?
practically nothing. they just port the titan ROM for HD7 port. except the camera setting. nothing else u can spot differently compare the HD7.
except ROM like DFT V2 and NewGent+ this 2 ROM can sideload xap thru IE and also have the ability to run all XBOXLive games. the rest of the custom ROM can not do that.
within DFT V2 and NewGent+ ROM. there is a huge different. DFT V2 ROM have the titan Camera setting, IE XAP install, and all XBOXLive can load. but this ROM take a lot space. 360MB+ just for the RUU*.NBH
with NewGent+ ROM. this ROM is lack of titan camera setting, all major language support except English and Ukraine only. the rest like DFT V2. it has IE XAP install, XBOXLive can load. customisable Background colour. and this ROM seem to have the smallest RUU*.nbh compare the rest. this ROM only have 260MB+ in size which is almost 100MB+ lesser than all the custom ROM available now.
i tried almost all the custom ROM. i am going back to NewGent+ coz its faster compare others. and also less battery consumption due to lots of the features being removed out and make this ROM less resources hungry.
p/s. i wont be free next week. only time i can do for u is weekend or else u have to come to my area for 1 hrs+ at weekday between 8-9pm
it's good that if u can spare me a 2 hours to explain to and answer most of ya doubt before u have better picture what u can do and what u cant do.

hmm, but u said the newGent+ is lack of english language ? where'd you find this rom anyway ? google didnt get anything bout this
the Newgent+ ROM have 2 language only.... English and Ukraine. where compare with the rest have at least 16 language. that make this ROM strand out of speed and battery because it take less resources and power when loading.
if you do not mind u are not able to type except english and ukraine. do not have the titan camera setting which u can customise the camera ISO, Sharpnes, and some setting. please do consider this ROM.
so how? weekend i have 2 more user wanna downgrade SPL. friday or saturday ok for u?

its understood that u want to flash custom ROM. u need to downgrade ya SPL to 4.5 or lower. and SPL5.* are not able to downgrade to 4.5 and lower.
nevermind... i proceed with my plan over this weekend. u slowly wait and lurk around. i will get busy next month since year end coming with lots of celebration. most of the weekend will be out of town...

there is a USD9.90 GPS voice navigation available in 2D format only. well. it use Google, Bing, Yahoo! and MapQuest map. so data connection is require. tested it this morning and after work.
performance wise sux big time altho it have voice to navigation. but the google cant really provide an accurate destination.

That's the whole problem. WNM Live is only as good as the amount of your real contacts are using. All my friends are using iPhone, none of them uses WP7. So the only thing that's remotely useful to me is Whatsapp. They don't even use Kik.

all wp7 voice navigation need data. only NAVfon GPS navigation no need. but that Voice GPS sux big time. time for u to consider a data plan now. with data and Agps. it start up less than 2sec. very accurate somemore compare with Gaminn, papago and the rest offline GPS.
1. TEC browser work on Mango. its fast. but TEC browser removed all function. not even BACK function remain. its a very "clean" browser.

no choice.... data GPS will be the future. even its not fully depand on data.... but it might need data to start. traditional GPS just too slow to calculate route or startup. with data and Agps, its almost instant.
noted... for now, i have 1 android with data only and 1 wp7 with calls/sms only, wifi
so gotta mix and match their jobs and responsbilities

i dont like the idea of carrying 2 phone when i go out. so i carry the most suitable one. since NoDo... wp7 is my main.

i encounter this before once. there is no way u can update HTC driver update now since u already on 7740 now. what u can do now since you have a SPL which is version at 1.28
you can force flash back to 7004 factory default ROM whereby thats the ROM when u purchase ya phone. once u done... u have option to be legal and illegal. thats the fun part.
from there u do steps by steps update to 7720 and 7740. so the Legal process should be like below.
Windows Phone 7 sales will pick up at least 150% and will drag iphone and blackberries , blackberries market share will drop at least 60% in the future ^^
You know what. I did try the xda-dev methods of backup with a "mule" update because I wanna change into a new account which is US-linked (For my music lock-screen to have the background. Reset the phone and backup again to find I'm let with the same situation w/ my old account. I guess there's no way it'd be possible. :/

those who have spl 1.28 may opt for customs rom with internet sharing already buildin + sideload rather going for HTC driver force yourself to spl5.xx just for the sharing. , you won't be able to sideload once you have HTC driver spl5.xxx.
The only way is using goldcard method which fulat sucessfully downgrade his spl5.xx back to earlier spl.

Thats the problem. u should have update mango from mango beta. that process should have messed up ya usual update.

no problem. just wait... as i know. most of the maxis brightstar HD7 owner stilll not have the update yet. this make me wonder is the internet sharing update are block by maxis or not...

if u are fully unlock device(chevron + interop-unlock). u can try sideload the below link.

Done flashing to one of the custom rom from DFT, unlocked, internet sharing, couple of apps like touchexplorer, registry editor all built-in...So far no issue with it, going to sideload apps! LOL
SPL still remains at 1.xx which means that I can still flash to official rom or custom rom again without going through the SPL downgrade hassle...

great... V2 is the most stable one... but i found it too heavy... looking for alternative try to replace the V2.

Ahh...that I didn't go into details yet, later when I got the time will go through those articles again to learn more about it...talking bout flashing, the old memories was O2 devices and using Windows Mobile, after it lauched Windows 6.5, I jump to Blackberry and now back to Windows Phone...So missed quite a lot of fun back then..

1. intermittent disconnect.. but the connection is fine on lappie. 2. mutiple try to get connected.. before, just 1 try to get connected.

due to recent found out.. i found the wifi connection cable inside the phone are inter related with Agps as well. that mean wifi signal and gps signal are both related. so i would really like to test by turning all the GPS related option off in the device. will it improve the wifi signal.
nevermind, back to the topic. yes... i felt a bit unstable wifi connection detected too. not only us... many other user out there also make some complain on the new 7740 update over this wifi issue too.
its still ok for me since i dont use wifi... mainly depend on 3G data because wifi will get disconnected when device go standby or sleep mode.

A beginner question here. Do anyone have any way to use a Malaysia windows live account as primary ID on WP yet still be able to access to Singapore/UK marketplace? The main reason is the I don't want to lose all my Messenger contacts just to access the marketplace.

the xenon is not really powerful actually.. the distance of the flash is more or less like led flash
anything u need to be aware of is the screen responsiveness issue.. the phone maybe unresponsive when u boot up and when u r at the lockscreen

u please remember... Sync ya contact account regularly because the device will not sync automatically... u have to do it manually in order to update ya web contact also.

If your Marketplace is not prompting your for an update which you KNOW is already available, search for the app on Marketplace, then tap the "<-" button, then tap on the app in Marketplace again. It will prompt you for an update.

guys i wanna ask, my mozart sometimes after setting the camcorder settings to the 720P setting, and when it starts recording, it lags like hell, its not my phone, its the recording, the video turns out lagging as well. Its like having a realllllllllllyyyy bad framerate problem. So, I would like to ask whether this is a firmware or a hardware problem? if its a hardware then I am gonna ask for a replacement..
just damn unlucky with my phone

what should i do now?
I used to have that on my Omnia 7, it wasn't as choppy as yours though, it's about 10 fps. That was when I first had it. Then I reset the phone to factory settings to put in my "Singapore" live ID in there, and the choppiness went away. Didn't happen on VGA resolution though
I read somewhere that if you switch from VGA to HD recording you'll have that choppiness. If you saved the settings at HD, and the next time you start up the camera it will be OK. This is just what I read though, so I don't know if it will help.

I believe when Lumia 800 rolled out in Malaysia, it's RRP would be cheaper than what Singapore is selling now by MYR100~200 (Based on comparison between N9 16GB price in Singapore & Malaysia).
1. Go to Nokia store/dealer 2. Ask for N9 3. Pretend that you never knew that N9 has *Gasp* scratch resistant Gorilla Glass. 4. Snap back "How you know?" 5. In my case, the salesman gave me a blade to tests it out.

Even Mozart selling price are RM1100, I rather topup for radar instead.
but people are choosing mozart now because some shops are selling it at RM800-900. but the radar's chin is just fugly imo, saw it in the HTC shop near my house...
Don't forget, Radar is using the newer generation processor, so it's slightly faster and much smoother. And the battery life is also better than 1st generation WP device.

If you guys need smart dialing, can use .phone dialer. The best smart dialing app I've used. Since it starts with a . so it will appear right on top of your apps list. Just swipe to app list, launch the app, and smart dial your friends.
nver use USSD code ever after i using unlimited data plan. (RM68data plan + call RM250+ , waive 68 so i paid 250) well, just pin your favorite ppl on start screen no need speed dials.
I seldom use USSD code also, but when I need it, I REALLY need it, and it should be functioning properly because it's a GSM standard.
I still find speed dial a heck lot more convenient than pinning a contact, though I find using Tellme to be the fastest

get DFT freedom V2 better. others not fully unlocked except freedom. and V3 is very buggy at this moment. mwang leave DFT right after 2 days he released V3 and now his successors seems to have problem picking up mwang pieces where they never thought of he leave them so early and unexpected.
there's still no V3 bug fix yet. no doubt some of the registry edit might solve certain bug in V3. but thats only small part of it.
and since 7740 no much changes. u might wanna skip the 7740 and remain at 7720 where 7720 are more stable.
Nexgent+ no doubt is lighter than freedom V2. but its not fully unlocked. Opera Mini is not support.
and also due to recently mwang leave DFT. their admin are searching around for ROM Cooker's ROM which cooked the IE XAP installer and Xbox Live installer which develop by mwang to remove from their ROM. most of the ROM cooker now will leave the above 2 function out from their New ROM.
just stick to freedom V2 first... until i found another better one.

welcome aboard!! installing apps you need a live id so you could download apps from marketplace.
just sigin your live id to your wp7, connect to marketplace search , download, install .
use data unlimited if you are not on data plan use wifi connection.

You can press the "volume-up" or "volume-down" buttons and you will see a small button on the top right appearing, press on it to choose Ring+Vibrate or Vibrate only. There's also an app that is called Attentive Phone which could be downloaded from the Marketplace, it adds a few extra actions onto your phone.
indeed normal xenon flash is stronger... but the 1 in mozart is really pity
no matter how bad the mozart's xenon flash. its still better than LED. and thats also 1 of the reason why the HTC flashlight didnt work on mozart because mozart used xenon and not LED.

sometimes.. not all apps or games stored at the default location. some games turn out to be in apps section. and some apps turn out to be in the SYSTEM hub.
just check carefully. it should be somewhere inside ya device.

when i got my HD7. i screwed up the registration using the 1st hotmail account. so i created a second hotmail account which mainly use for WP7.
i stored all my clean contact at the second hotmail acc. which make my contact very clean. or else all my msn messenger contact will be messed up with my phone contact into the 1st hotmail account.
but due to recently hotmail massive improvement. i think i can merge both hotmail back into 1 where it doesnt mess my msn contact and phone contact together.

expected.... more ipoo hardcore supporter turn to bigger screen and more smooth and clean platform. specially the 4.3" super AMOLED by samsung and huge screen like titan. note are huge but still laggy.
until today. ipoo still the same screen size. same colour. same button. ppl want changes. things surround are changing. and if u dont change they get bore.

focus from overseas shipped to ur door is around rm900
there is no way to force HTC driver update. u might need to go back to factory default 7004 again and perform the update steps by steps. or follow THIS LINK to perform force update.

its Telco unlocked. But. There is no release of default ROM 7004 four this model. So if u update mango now. Most likely u will to be downgrade your SPL later and install custom ROM.

i do encounter such problem before, its maybank problem, you will receive 2 or 3 of tag no sms hour later.
Lol...wm can't send data to other handphone d...bluetooth only for handfree and earphone only...>< Ok..in other words...ussd and tag code solve..really maybank problem..
that's why you must have unlimited data plan so you can fully utilize your WP7, not only email you can upload all your stuffs to skydrive, and send a sharing link to your friends asking them to download.

You've updated to mango yet? Well, for apps I do agree. But mostly design wise. I'm a bit picky on that. Wp7 developers tend to veer more on programming rather than design and not utilising more of the panorama swipe function.

My 2 cent is still better wait for Lumia to land on our shores, due to warranty issue (some of the first batch Lumia has some hardware issue) & you might get lucky of getting a Nokia Purity headset by Monster if you're one of the few early buyers (No guarantee on this though, but I've got mine in Singapore launch. Same gift package has been given out in some europe countries)

If you press on toast notifications or just relaunch an app after going back to home screen, you will need to wait for the app to load. This is a complete waste of time. The system should be smart enough to detect that you've recently used the app and activate instant resume.

Doesn't make sense for you to wait for the long loading while chatting with friends on WhatsApp though since people will usually do something else on the phone and then just tap the toast notification when a new reply comes in.
Or having an active session with friends on Twitter.
Thank Apple for making manufacturers have the mentality that NO BUTTONS would be cooler than the iPhone's ONE button. Also, to the device maker, not putting a button there is actually cheaper and less prone to failure.
