QUOTE(-ahtiang- @ Feb 3 2012, 06:58 AM) Btw, some info on Windows Phone 8 (Apollo) here http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/02/windows-phone-8-detailed/ That's some pretty awesome stuff right there. I just wonder if Gen 1 phones can upgrade to Apollo since it'll be running on a different kernel. |

My billing country is set to Singapore. i guess it's a gone case for me since i'm definitely not gonna reset my phone nor use a different live id. Maybe if enough people email and complain to ms they might do something about it.

QUOTE(marauderz @ Feb 4 2012, 04:57 PM) Added on February 4, 2012, 4:59 pmAlso, everyone needs to not get offended by content so easily. I m still trying to figure out the special 'restrictions' apps targeted for Malaysia will have to pass. I had problems personally with steam's marketplace because I use an Australian PayPal. The prices you have to pay for the same game in the Australian market is just pure daylight robbery. |

QUOTE(GuestX8 @ Feb 7 2012, 08:44 PM) Yes, the USSD support is a very glaring omission as in developing economies and where pre-paid is prevalent it is a must. Hope that Nokia with its world wide experience would know some sense into Microsoft. Also hope that the full platform updates will continue for a few iteration. Damn, so frustrating that we're in this "developing economy". It annoys me to no end that none of our carriers have web based equivalents to their USSD star codes. Maxis's solution to topping up your broadband data plan on the iPad is to pop out your micro SIM card from the iPad itself and place it in some phone that uses a micro SIM card (and not that many phones use micro SIM either) and dial the USSD code. This is the same damn solution they suggest for Windows Phones. How can you sell stuff which you don't even support? Holy mother of god, is it so hard to hire 1 programmer to code this into their website? If I was working there, it would take me 1 day to code it in. Annoys me to no end. |

QUOTE(Nightengale @ Feb 19 2012, 05:14 PM) Well, Bing Map's Local Scout has no info for Malaysian places anyway. Besides Nokia Mapa has its own version of Local Scout that works well. They should put "apps" in one of pivots in local scout like how they do it in the pictures hub, so at least you can link to apps like foursquare or trip advisor if the local scout isn't available in your region. (which was practically every country on the planet except the us until a few weeks ago)Though its downright stupid that we can't use Bing Vision. We don't need the purchasing function but c'mon at least let us do visual search. |
