but when in home button look like HD.

SD channel sure looks like SD lah. You think all channels will look like HD meh?

Dear guys,

I having a prob, i cannot control the volume from the Astro Byond remote control . Btw i`m using Panasonic 42" Led tv, hdmi cable.
Would be great if anybody can help me on this.

The answer is simple. When u press the home button, the display area is much smaller than the SD resolution, that's why the picture is sharp. But in viewing mode on your full HD TV, the resolution of the TV is higher than the SD resolution of the source, that's why it becomes not sharp.

Same concept as when you enlarge a photo, it becomes blur. But when you downsize a blurred photo, it looks sharper.

Press "+" at volume side and "OK" button until the LED blink twice.

Hi guys.
Yesterday I received a call from Astro Customer Service.
Actually this one for my aunty's account,she is still using old decoder (silver colour).The staff told me that astro is changing all the old decoder to the new one(black colour),hence he give me two options to choose from :

1. Upgrade for free,where they wont charge installation and fee for the decoder but have to subscribe HD package which will be RM20 extra every month.Must subscribe it for a minimum 1 year period.After that can cancel the HD package.

2. She can choose to subscribe new account where she have to pay RM199 for the installation and decoder and can choose whatever package she want.

Here is the problem,my aunty still using old crt tv and she is not interested getting HD package.Both offer is certainly is a loss for her :

Option A : She have to pay extra RM20 for 1 year : 12 x RM20 = RM240
Option B : She have to pay RM199 for the new subscription.

Anyone faced the same situation before,is there any alternative way for this one.

tell astro to add one more option
option C : upgrade to byond FOC without HD service

u can keep u using old decoder (silver colour)
dont upgrade byond coz need pay RM20 waste u using CRT TV u most say i dont want astro byond i dont want HD RM20 like that u can keep old decoder

Want to ask. The recent ads for John Carter on FMP . Is this pay per view or available for FMP viewers?

sooner or later I think you have to upgrade. That was what happen to Astro Max users.....

I dont mind Astro offer this to the users who intend to upgrade and already have LCD or LED with them.
I already told the staff that my aunty have CRT TV only and HD channels wont give much difference but he still keep on insisting to choose either any of the 2 options given.

no problem.....as long as it helps to eliminate the fault tracing. 8-)

so starting from March, Astro Celestial Movies will be broadcast in HD...

only for those subscribing to Celestial SD ?

i not sure bout this cuz i'm currently on superpack 3 which included all the chinese channels...
