QUOTE(Ivan Sac @ Feb 25 2012, 04:55 PM) I dont mind Astro offer this to the users who intend to upgrade and already have LCD or LED with them. I already told the staff that my aunty have CRT TV only and HD channels wont give much difference but he still keep on insisting to choose either any of the 2 options given. astro wants to migrate every subscriber to byond may be because they want to convert all channels to mpeg4 format, old decoder can only decode mpeg2 video astro max users were allowed to upgrade to byond PVR free of charge and without adding extra RM20 HD service old CRT tv can be connected to byond's composite video output

Added on February 25, 2012, 9:54 pmQUOTE(Qash-M @ Feb 25 2012, 06:43 PM) The question fow now is, is it within this year? dream on......they have to make sure no subs is using old decoder first before switch on to mpeg4 and to do that, it take years....more than 2 million subs This post has been edited by chikana: Feb 25 2012, 09:54 PM

QUOTE(RAMChYLD @ Jan 31 2012, 02:42 PM) Assteruk is really greedy and/or stupid. Should make the decoder work with any hard disk, not just WD Passport AV... The reason is because those wd av hdd do not have error correction. Essential for CCTV and recording. Normal hard disks have error correction that will verify data integrity upon writing. Can't have such function when you are recording live feed Added on February 26, 2012, 3:04 pmEh guys btw that astro installer came to change to byond for me. He changed everything but the coaxial wiring. So using old cable which is two years old. He left and gave me the new bundle of coaxial cable. My question is, is the new coaxial cable of better grade? My current one is two years old as installed when I first got astro I read you guys talking about this rg6 cable. Is this the one that comes with byond installation? Is it better than my previous coaxial cable that comes with Sd astro installation? This post has been edited by karhoe: Feb 26 2012, 03:08 PM
