Astro don't lie to their employees, everyone in astro knows news channels are vigorously checked...if they slip out something big out, the big fella of somewhere will call supervisors and supervisors will give the staff a nasty letter or lecture... if it was something very serious, within 24 hrs the poor staff will get sacrificed =/

But if Assteruk dun lie to their employees, why did that ex-engineer tell me that Asstertuk cannot censor the incoming signal and is like ignorant to assteruk's censorship regime? Unless she's lying to me also...

But why would she lie to me tho? She's no longer working for assteruk at that time...

Channels broadcast on the Astro service are delayed, typically several minutes, from their source feeds using a digital server system. This delay is used to edit programming to comply with the governmental guidelines on foreign and unsuitable content, as well as to facilitate commercial replacement, as local laws prohibit the broadcast of commercials produced overseas. Channels like Cinemax, Star Movies, Channel V and MTV are delayed by one (1) hour.

Well they had no choice... if they dont censor, their license is at risk... this applies to all tv broadcast... but i can assure you, most channels (non astro in house channels) have the delay system implemented, except those local tv1 tv2 tv3 etc, certain movie channel, certain kids show... the remaining astro own channels are free from that system because the material itself has been pre censored, so they just play back the same edited program

Infact ass went one step further it did not censor it doctored the news which is wrong,sad to say the news companies have no guts to pull out!Pls note the last para,........nothing says News can be censored!You lick me, I lick you......technical terms is Social Contract!

Is it just me, or Astro channels got more "chops" and "mixes" since last GE?
I only applied Astro on Q3 2009, and didn't know how's Astro doing back then...

I'm going to order ViewHD HDMI to Component Converter together with ViewHD 4I2O HDMI Switch from Amazon in next couple of days. If you can wait, HD EZRecorder should eventually be available in Malaysia as another product Game Capture HD is already available. Both are almost identical product except EZrecorder has scheduled recording feature. There is a local distributor for Avermedia and should be widely available from Lowyat and also Lelong. I'm going to wait to take advantage of local warranty but I need to order ViewHD now because my friend will be back from US in 3 weeks time.

Yeah, I know. Just wondering what that ex-engineer has to gain with lying to me...

So you're buying ViewHD products from Amazon and send to your friend's addy in the states. I am kinda like the blackmagic intensity but as you know, you have to record them onto your PC. But Avermedia HD EZRecorder is a very good alternative. How about Hauppauge HD PVR products?

it's a well known public fact that astro does not have members from LPF stationed within, instead, they were given a guidebook by home affairs ministry from day one, guiding their censorship department on what to cut

it is also another well known fact that in order for big business players to continue operating in Malaysia without disturbance, the tycoons have to play by big bosses rules, Genting, YTL, many other industries are no exception to this

few of the exceptions, perhaps Digi (that explains why their coverage on 3G is still poor? still remember they paid free money to TimeDotCom for the 3G license)

if you don't want this to happen anymore, change the govt in next GE, I know that PR will eventually be as corrupt as BN, but that is the reason we have to uphold the dual-party system, to serve as check and balance

Just caught this on FOXCRIME HD .....mentioned Bahasa Malaysia subtitles available....possible launch on Maxis or Astro maybe? 8-) cheers.
