Hi there, I am thinking of buying Blackmagic intensity to capture some some of my favorite HD program from Astro Byond to keep as my personal copy. Do you think Astro will block the HDMI signal input to Blackmagic to prevent copying of these byond channels
Thanks

QUOTE(RAMChYLD @ May 16 2012, 03:27 PM) I can confirm it's not going to work, at least not without a HDCP remover in the middle (*cough*HDFury2*cough*). Blackmagic Intensity does not support HDCP encryption. Take it from someone who attempted to experiment on this when baeyong first came out. There's another card out that supports HDCP- AVerMedia HD-DVR iirc. Not sure if it's available in Malaysia tho- I hear people say it's available, but I can't find one personally. However, from what I read it's HDCP support isn't much of an improvement- it allows Assteruk to display on the computer (compare to black screen with message "Copy Protection Failed" on a Blackmagic Intensity) but attempting to record will result in the "Copy Protection Failed" error. Like Chikana said you can still record from analog with HD signal downsampled to SD tho, which is a somewhat acceptable compromise for me. Which is still somewhat better than TM's IPTV (even analog SD is Macrovision protected ) Thanks for the info, I guess we're stuck with HD downgrading to SD using RCA input. Any suggestion on the best capture/playback card/usb available in Malaysia

QUOTE(kimyee73 @ May 17 2012, 04:19 PM) Yes, noticed that HDFury3 is quite expensive, around GBP181 from Amazon.co.uk. I'll try to replace it with ViewHD device available from Amazon.com for USD81. ViewHD has similar features as HDFury3. OK, if we capture HD using blackmagic intensity with HDCP stripper, meaning that we can record Byong HD content or do we still have problem with it, such as copy failed error etc.etc.

Hello there, all viewHD models like the model comes with 2 HDMI input and split to 4 HDMI output come with HDCP compliant or just a specific model than can do HDCP stripping...... thanks

QUOTE(kimyee73 @ May 18 2012, 04:24 PM) Avermedia came out with HD EzRecorder which is a standalone HD recorder. This is my dream device. It is so brand new that it is not available on Amazon yet. I have 3 weeks window to order this from Amazon without paying for shipping charge and I'm afraid I'll miss it. Hey again, interesting. Guess I wanna buy this machine too. Hv you got the viewHD already. Thought of buying that too to strip the HCDP before I could record Byond with HD EZrecorder. Thanks for your help coz I am still novice in this thingy..

QUOTE(RAMChYLD @ May 18 2012, 09:57 PM) Just looked up the EzRecorder. Sounds interesting. I wonder if any shop in Malaysia will pick it up. On the other hand, it has to be used with a HDMI-to-Component box with built-in HDCP support or it's not going to work. And I don't think those are sold in Malaysia? I saw some in HDMI to Component/VGA converters in Viewnet but am not sure it support HDCP. Hi, If I can get viewHD with two HDMI input to component (said to have HDCP compliant), then I think HD EZrecorder can make it works to record Byond. Don't you think?

QUOTE(kimyee73 @ May 21 2012, 09:09 AM) I'm going to order ViewHD HDMI to Component Converter together with ViewHD 4I2O HDMI Switch from Amazon in next couple of days. If you can wait, HD EZRecorder should eventually be available in Malaysia as another product Game Capture HD is already available. Both are almost identical product except EZrecorder has scheduled recording feature. There is a local distributor for Avermedia and should be widely available from Lowyat and also Lelong. I'm going to wait to take advantage of local warranty but I need to order ViewHD now because my friend will be back from US in 3 weeks time. So you're buying ViewHD products from Amazon and send to your friend's addy in the states. I am kinda like the blackmagic intensity but as you know, you have to record them onto your PC. But Avermedia HD EZRecorder is a very good alternative. How about Hauppauge HD PVR products?

QUOTE(kimyee73 @ May 22 2012, 08:15 AM) Ya, my friend is in Oregon right now. Both AVerMedia DarkCrystal HD (aka USB HD DVR) and Hauppauge HD PVR are similar product at similar pricing, need to connect to PC and and support up to 1080i. Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle is a better product that support up to 1080p resolution but requires USB3.0. Avermedia is more widely available locally especially ordering thru Lelong for those not around KL like me. There are Blackmagic dealers mainly in KL. Not sure about Hauppauge dealers in MY. I do not intend to move my PC to living room for recording hence EZrecorder is a blessing for me and it will replace my old Panasonic DVR. I've just got my HD EZRecorder, but my ViewHD has yet to arrive. Cant wait to record/copy my Beyond. I'm still think of getting component to HDMI converter to plug into my HDTV. Any suggestion?

QUOTE(kimyee73 @ May 28 2012, 01:23 PM) Where did you bought it from? Most TV should have a component input, at least both of my Sharp and Samsung have it. I bought it from PCHome Global (from Taiwan, the last unit they have). On second thought I'll probably find the HDMI splitter instead, output to my TV
