Guys,

My friend got a job offer in SG in a bank. One of her pre-joining question checklist things ask:

"Are you currently engaged in any other business either as a director, proprietor, partner, officer, trustee, employee, agent or otherwise locally and overseas?"

What's the implication of the bank asking this kind of question ah? He got directorship in his father's company in Malaysia (with director fee) but he is 100% sleeping one, don't even get paid, just that the family use his name to be director and get director fee for money for the family expenses etc.

just like what crazy said.. conflict of interest if she's a investment analyst / back room in charge of approving corp loans / risk management / private equity / other forms of back room investment

another reason is liability.. being all those above irregardless of sleeping or not there's a obligation.. and this affect the person's standing in representing the bank..

directorship no sleeping 1 la.. once u r named a director and name is listed in the register of directors of the company.. then you have a legal obligation to uphold your http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Directors'_duties .... can masuk jail 1... unless of course he/she holds the title 'director' but not listed in the M&A / register then no prob la.. that 1 retard title only

Anyone here with a Malaysian passport that starts with "H"?
Wat does it means?

My passport was all the while start with "A" until it was damaged one day. Then wen I got the replaced passport it started with H.
Then I just recently renewed it (as it was expiring), it's still starts with H.
I tried to google it, but no answer, except that for those old Malaysian IC, H means he/she is from Sabah. Ironically I was born in Sabah oso.

So does the H means I was born in Sabah, or it is to show that my passport was damaged before, or any other reason? Maybe a sabahan here can tell with me which alphabet your passport starts with?

Sorry, not sure under which sub-forum to ask the question above, but I suppose everyone here uses their passport frequently, so I post my question here.

If you want to uphold the principle that you are worth so much so much, then, good luck to you to find a job that really can pay you well above all others even though you have no qualification. It is not impossible to find such job but it is just the time matters. It could be next week, it could be the next 6 months and until you feel frustrated as good job with good pay is not easy to come by unless economy is booming and every where is employing staffs. So, now it is the time to prove reality vs principle.... biggrin.gif

Hi Aloong, number H is for sabahan, but when you renew you passport, they could mistaken and printed it using other alphabet. I have renewed once and both letter is H. My sister did renew recently which she got an A as well, as informed by the officer they made a mistake, and them advice them next time when they renew, they can changed it back, but i think it's still better to ask them change on the spot, reprint it and make sure it is correct.

So i think if you're sabahan, your passport was printed wrongly on the first time and got it corrected now. That's just my thought.

The "H" is for the Sabahan's Passport. Same as the IC starting with H for the old IC. A is for those from Semenanjung. But, new IC, there is no more "H" but for Sabahan, the middle number is 12.

Here is Singapore, and sometimes, paper qualification does matters here. Unless we talk about Chinamen company, where if you are good and a hands-on man, they will engage you to "one leg kick" most of the job and still can deprieve you as you have no other qualification to run to other place. Worst is if he has given you an above market salary for the "no qualification" job and it is hard for you to jump unless you go and join to other similar industries where they already know you and your ability.

The road ahead is not impossible but tougher.....
