RM200 is the normal pre-authorise charged amount to any credit card used at pump in Petrol stations.
No worries....

No worries. It's a new system just implemented by Maybank and a few other banks in Malaysia. RM200 us just the deposit. They will refund the the difference to you in the new few working days.

Oh really ? Meaning that each transaction will be like this ? RM 200 is like a deposit even though I only use RM 50, is that correct ?

Correct... because at the pump the CC doesn't know how much you would pump, right ?

I see. I thought some fraud using my card or so, but it just 2 seconds away seems impossible. Maybe because I never received such SMS alert for transaction, so a bit shock. But I guess I'll be expecting such alert in the future due to its new implementation of SMS alert for each transaction, yes ?

this has been discussed many times before and I have mentioned in Post#2 that many reported that they don't earn the 5% cash back with their online transactions as it depends on the timing the merchant processes the transactions.

Actually hye did start a thread just for the purpose to identify which online merchant does earn us the 5% cash back click here to read more. fruitie is one of the few people who have taken the trouble to share with us that she did get 5% cash back for Pay Pal and flickr. Important thing to note also, for overseas transaction, you have to take into account the different timezone. Hopefully all members who transact with their MBB 2 AMEX on weekend can update in this said thread to benefit others.

I guess if you frequently do online transaction with a particular merchant, it may be worthwhile trying out a transaction with them on a Saturday or Sunday to find out if you do earn 5% cash back (you have to take note of the time difference too).

Hi Gen,

just want to ask some ques,
if i wanna make payment using Amex for my course fee in AUD, i should follow the weeked time at australia in order to get 5xtp and 5% cash back? the surcharge will be definitely higher than using mastercard right? just wanna know which card should i use to pay it ...btw where to see when is the posting date of transaction? i saw some ppl claimed that if transaction date is on weekend but posting date is weekday, u can call to maybank to ask for 5% cash back? do i need to call maybank cs to allow for online transaction?

What a lame excuse! What do you think the seniors here learn about cc from ? By being lazy like yourself ?
You don't deserve any answers.

Like bro MilesandMore just mentioned .... it all boils down to the transaction date + posting date. You will not be able to control when is the posting date. For your surcharge question .... obviously you are another case of lazy reader who wants straight answers without reading. Somewhere in this forum, I recently had an active discussion about the same question you just asked and the answer is also there.

No ... you cannot call Maybank to ask for the 5% cash back. Where do you get such ideas from? No need to be kiasu about the rebate until you "demand" Maybank to give it to you.

Also ... you may need MSOS to do online transaction. Obviously, you didn't bother to search for the answers.

As pointed out by hye once again, it depends on when the merchant processes the transaction. You think people in Australia work on Weekends?

Come on lah, the tuition fees in Australia is definitely more than RM30K and you want to earn RM50 from it? As to which card to use, it depends, you want to pay more upfront and redeem for point later or pay less upfront and earn less points.

Which card to use? Maybank Visa Infinite thumbup.gif click below to read my latest article.

http://creditcardsmalaysia.blogspot.com/20...ybank-visa.html

and also click here to read my article on Credit Card for Education Bills

Having said above, make sure you double check if the school charges any surcharge fee (especially if they uses a 3rd party service), if yes, it would be cheaper if you just buy a bank draft.

Obviously you are pissed out with me for asking questions. The senior here learn from asking questions and and some senior answer them. You may call it 'sharing'. You may call me lazy but you never know. I could be busy with others things in my life and I need a quick answer to 1 or 2 questions. For me, it look reasonable by asking questions but I do not know why piss you so much.

You try clicking redeem from maybank2u website, let say TESCO RM50 voucher.
It says "Redemption is not applicable to American Express Charge Cards."
I tried this because one of my friend working in Bank said the catalog for treat points earned from AMEX and MC are different.
Anyone tried redeem with AMEX and MC combined treat points?

they haven't update the online redemption form..but, no worries...as long as you know you have sufficient overall treatpoints, you can redeem it online just by putting in only one of the account no..you dont have to put all account..they can detect your account..last time, i only put in my saving account that only have 200 treatpoints only..they will deduct from whatever treatpoints you have..no worries..

It is faster and easier if you spend some minute checking their treatpoints catalogue. The required information is stated there clearly. Only a single page.
