Recently, MBB increase CL for me, I'm not sure does it a permanent increase or just temporary? Anywhere to check? or hav to give them a call again!?

I'm do request for a temporary but no notifications/phone call indicate the increase pun on that week. Coz usually once request approved, they will give us a call. So I wonder does it a temp/perma increase!?

this has been discussed many times before and I have mentioned in Post#2 that many reported that they don't earn the 5% cash back with their online transactions as it depends on the timing the merchant processes the transactions.

Actually hye did start a thread just for the purpose to identify which online merchant does earn us the 5% cash back click here to read more. fruitie is one of the few people who have taken the trouble to share with us that she did get 5% cash back for Pay Pal and flickr. Important thing to note also, for overseas transaction, you have to take into account the different timezone. Hopefully all members who transact with their MBB 2 AMEX on weekend can update in this said thread to benefit others.

I guess if you frequently do online transaction with a particular merchant, it may be worthwhile trying out a transaction with them on a Saturday or Sunday to find out if you do earn 5% cash back (you have to take note of the time difference too).
*
Haha, trust you have to be best info on this topic. I'll read that thread to know more.

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Jan 3 2012, 10:17 AM)
I can tell you they are so wrong. Internet transactions do qualify for the 5% weekend cash rebate but as Gen-X said, it all boils down to the transaction date + posting date of your payment.
*
I'm glad they are wrong.

Obviously you are pissed out with me for asking questions. The senior here learn from asking questions and and some senior answer them. You may call it 'sharing'. You may call me lazy but you never know. I could be busy with others things in my life and I need a quick answer to 1 or 2 questions. For me, it look reasonable by asking questions but I do not know why piss you so much.
*
haha, no lah, he is not pissed off but doing what he has been entrusted to do, which is point to you in the right direction in a direct manner. Nowadays the members here not so "bad" already ( I guessed many of us gave up repeating to newbies to do a search), few years back, you ask a question which has been discussed before, you be flamed left right center. Bro, you got to understand also, if everyone like you just post without doing a search first, then all the threads here will have more pages.

Anyway, added your question to FAQ at post#2 so next time someone else ask the same question I can flamed him left right center for not doing a search and for being lazy by not even reading the 1st page, hahaha

To ALL: I did a transaction in SG today with my MBB VI and received SMS from MBB after half hour or so.

As pointed out by hye once again, it depends on when the merchant processes the transaction. You think people in Australia work on Weekends?

Come on lah, the tuition fees in Australia is definitely more than RM30K and you want to earn RM50 from it? As to which card to use, it depends, you want to pay more upfront and redeem for point later or pay less upfront and earn less points.

Which card to use? Maybank Visa Infinite  thumbup.gif click below to read my latest article.

http://creditcardsmalaysia.blogspot.com/20...ybank-visa.html

and also click here to read my article on Credit Card for Education Bills

Having said above, make sure you double check if the school charges any surcharge fee (especially if they uses a 3rd party service), if yes, it would be cheaper if you just buy a bank draft.

I don't see this reason as any basis to your demands for quick information. You equate your approach as your interpretation of sharing but I will will quickly point out that it is a display of arrogance and a display of your personal attitude.

As many would have pointed out, you could have put in some effort to search and still get some answer although not in the lightning speed that you want. If you think your time is valuable ... your time is not the only one valuable here. Everyone's time here is valuable and by giving you the sliver platter privilege of Google like information - don't you think it is unfair to others as well ?

Google is free and Google need some efforts to search also. We also freely contribute our knowledge (as what you term as sharing) on a volunteer basis. To expect Premier treatment is very unfair to everyone else just because you think your time is the only time that is valuable here. Ours is not ? And we have to answer you just because you justify your request? I think not ...

You may still defend your actions ... I will let it be but I won't allow such request like what you did to propagate in this section of this forum.

RM50 GST is not a lot. I'm not justifying the GST but you should weigh carefully your chase for rebate / points vs what you need to pay. Especially when you are using the card overseas ... I personally will not do it because I can get back the rebate via local spending which I will be charged in RM vs in overseas currency (which costs more) as per what you were considering.

yes i understood what u are trying to emphasize here. anyway as per mentioned in previous posts, as long as my transaction date and posting date are dated during weekend, then i will be entitled the 5% cash back right, i think this will cover the surcharge fee 2-3%..n i earn the 10k point to waive the GST. this is what i thought.

You have the base idea correct but it is only an ideal situation which may not materialize in reality.
This is because ... you have control over the transaction date but not the posting date. The posting date depends on when the merchant actually make their claims to the bank. If you can guarantee that the merchant does post your transaction on the weekend then you'll get your rebate. i would like to reiterate that transaction date and posting date may be days apart or might happen on the same day.

You are still talking about using your MBB2 AMEX overseas right ? What determines whether or not you are entitled for the 5% weekend cash rebate is the transaction date. The transaction date must falls on either Saturday or Sunday. Posting date will however, determine you will get the rebate this month or next month.

For example, you bought something in USA on 31st December 2011 which is a Saturday, thus making you eligible for the MBB2 AMEX weekend 5% cash rebate. However, the payment was only posted to your account a few days later and the posting date is recorded as x Jan 2012 in your account. The 5% weekend cash rebate will be credited to your account only next month and is counted towards your 5% weekend rebate for January 2012 instead of December 2011.

Bro, tell you what, since you want the points, go swipe RM1K and see if you get the 5% cash back on weekends with the online payment and then post the outcome at the thread hye started to benefit all. And from then on, you and me can know the right answer once and for all. The remaining RM1K swipe with the Visa or MC to compare.

I renewed my car insurance with Etiqa yesterday using MBB2 AMEX yesterday through phone. The agent requested for my 4-digit CID number to be given. Is this normal?

Used my MBB 2 Amex card on 31st Dec 2011 for Getha. Surprisingly the transaction is still "floating" according to MBB customer service, pending from mechant's claim. Unfortunately also is that (according to MBB customer service), the rebate from that transaction will not be counted in Dec 2011 or Jan 2012 rebate limit since it is still "floating".

Is this true?
