I might want to go and apply for increase of credit limit soon cause I want to take advantage of the 12 months 0% balance transfer. It has already been 6 months since I got the cards.

But my EA and BE form figures are different by quite a huge amount. I applied my card using my pay slip only, lets say 30K. EA form also shows 30K. However, lets say I rob people as my part time job at night and I had declared it in my BE form April this year making it to say to 50K.

So am I eligible for credit limit based on 50K income or just 30K from the salary slip?
*
BE form should always be same or higher than EA form(s) for the same period because you are only transferring or combining the figures shown in one or more EA forms to the BE form.

Income from illegal sources are not taxable because there is no legal documentation for such monies and thus nothing to submit for taxation. This is not to say there are no means to legalise such incomes by creation of fake/incorrect documentation but this is really out of topic.

*
It's not listed because there isn't one in KLCC. Only 2 card centres in KL/PJ, one in 1U and the other at Menara Maybank.

This has been asked many times. Amazon is not a good site to expect weekend rebate.

I always pump my motorcycle petrol using Amex. Its the best credit card so far. The only drawback is the credit limit is too low (2k). This due to sharing the limit with Visa Al-Ikhwan that I have bigger limit. But I cant stop Al-Ikhwan since I have installment with courts and onking for another 1 year and half. Do I need to wait for 1 year before ask for credit limit increament or wait for their offer?
*
This situation is actually quite easy to solve. Reduce the limit of your Ikhwan card and you'll be able to increase your M2 limit.

Have you guys ever receive a call fr MBB whenever you charge a big amount to your cards?

For me, I've contacted the customer service few times and requeted them to call me to verify my payment if the individual transaction amount is more than RM 5k (exception to the rule is purchase of flight ticket and hotel bills).

I've recently paid RM20k single payment for a training course. And still no one from MBB contact me for payment verification. This lead me to feel unsecure about maybank cards. Share with me if you have a similiar consern.
*
Generally speaking, no bank anywhere does this (verification call for transactions above certain amount) unless the transaction is flagged in their fraud system (transaction value is important but not the most important flag). And anyone in the bank who promises you that they can do it is not telling you the truth.

You cannot pay debt with another debt. Please no discussions here about BT or cash advances to pay credit card or how fiat money is debt. blink.gif

Sorry I forgot to mention this. I asked them for temp credit limit increase since I am just short of 500 but they declined. They say they will only approve such cases when I am in overseas or in an emergency (eg. hospital).

So maybe when you are in overseas they are more lenient. My guess.
*
The criteria for temporary limit increase is shared among all MY banks. If they allow to increase, the minimum period is usually quite long (e.g. 1 month) and in that 1 month, you can use up the limit even for local transactions. After that just need to pay as per statement.

usually it will takes up to 3-5 days to have the payment recorded in history transaction.
*
This is incorrect.

M2U CC future payments are done in the afternoon/evening of the date selected (assuming there is enough to cover the payment). When done, payment will show up immediately under Savings & Current accounts (recent transactions). Credit cards (transaction history) will only update the next day as the system is updated after midnight.

my payment appears at credit card's history transaction usually after 3 days. but the posting date then will be same as transaction date. haha
The posting date is accurate on a T+1 basis, meaning if the posting date is 1 Nov, it will show in transaction history on 2 Nov. Maybe got something wrong with yours?

I guess maybe it'll be the CC feature of 8.88% interest rate as long as you could maintain clean sheet of Prompt Repayment of 12/12 month
*
This is the correct understanding of the T&C. Pay at least the minimum on time and the rate stays indefinitely at 8.88% subject to changes by the bank.

When you swipe for petrol, the bank will reduce your CL by RM200 regardless of the amount. The real amount will only be reflected when the station operator post the transactions. All cards, all petrols.
*
This understanding is not quite correct. Some amount is only held for transactions at the pump because there is no way to tell in advance the purchase amount. The amount also differs for different banks and petrol retailers. Transactions at the counter for a specific amount is treated exactly like any other retail transaction.

The amount hold if you swipe your card at the pump is standardized at RM200 per authorization as far as i am concerned.
*
I should ask you to quote source but then you might ask the same of me. biggrin.gif

The next time you swipe at the pump, quite a lot of pumps will display the maximum amount allowed for the transaction at the display where they used to be able to press amounts manually. If you come across such a pump, observe the amount and you will see it's usually not RM200 and will typically change if you use cards from different issuers.

This is what I was trying to point out in my other posts, what if our phone is switched off and the transaction was approved since we did not notify MBB that a fraud was in progress whereas MBB have notify us.
*
The system will most certainly end up as a best effort notification-only system. The T&C will be updated to disclaim liability for any delays or lack of notification for any reason.

Just call the telephone number stated at the back of your card.
I've used my MBB2 AMEX many times over the internet (mainly to book tickets on MAS website) but they just suddenly blocked my MBB2 AMEX for online use last Saturday.
*
Used my M2 Amex twice today, one online and offline, wasn't blocked. Also did 2 online transactions last week. No calls or notification. Perhaps this is pattern-based and not blanket rule?

they never ship on weekends. Transaction date will always be a weekday. You do better by going to Ebay and using paypal since that charges your card straight away. Of coz time zone matters so evening of Saturday is a better bet.
*
Time zone of the transaction does not actually matter for rebate purposes, what really matters is which batch the merchant submits the transaction for processing. E.g. if you buy something from Tesco at Saturday 1230am, the transaction date will show as Friday (did not try this recently, though). If you check out from a hotel in US on Sunday but it's already Monday in Malaysia, most likely the transaction date will be on Sunday (no guarantees).

I buy quite a lot of stuff from Amazon using my M2 Amex and would like to share my latest experience. I made 2 orders on 6 and 8 Dec on super saver shipping. Both items shipped on 10 Dec and posting date was 12 Dec. What surprised me was the transaction date showed 7 and 10 Dec. Draw your own conclusions.

Added on January 1, 2012, 5:55 pmDamn, I use the Amex to pump at Petronas. After the terminal show 'Maybank Amex' right after it show 'Decline'. I go check with the staff at counter, they say supposingly can accept Amex, but quite number of people complain about this problem at their station. Just say sorry to me.
*
Amex has never been known to be accepted at the pump for Petronas. Very few Petronas accepts Amex and all of them must swipe at the counter. Same with BHP. Some Esso/Mobil can swipe at pump.

Widest petrol acceptance for Amex is Shell nationwide while other brands are more miss than hit especially if you go outside KL/PJ.

I have tried 2 times Esso at pump, so far no problem. But didn't receive any sms,  :hmm:  maybe just implement today? I pump Esso yesterday, no sms yet.

Added on January 1, 2012, 8:39 pm

I have no idea, however the staff say 'should be accept Amex', and the staff told me even swipe at the counter also same. That's why I don't want waste my time to try again.
*
If the Petronas accepts Amex (look out for the logo), you should be able to swipe at the counter. If you want to use Amex and have the best odds of acceptance, just pump at Shell.

i know i know. but i just wan to know the interest count, well, so far i settle my outstanding every single time (although still new) smile.gif
as i understand:
5% from total outstanding + interest (if no carry forward = no interest) + installment = minimum payment
if after due, the total outstanding will be charges interest (right?) + all transaction thereafter will be charged interest as well

but i just want to know whether the outstanding get charges?
reason i want to know:
worry, *touchwood* if one day,as the emergency fund that i build up might not enough to cover, hence some of the expenses that need to carry forward for next month statement
*
All balance on the card will get changed compounded interest on daily basis if statement balance is not cleared by due date (plus 3 days grace period to take into account delayed payment methods).

If you need more details, the Wikipedia article on credit cards is more than enough to give you a good idea on how things work.

Hi guys,

Need to ask about the MSOS on the Master/Visa online transaction security thingy. This feature does not require us to register, right? (Means this feature by default already implemented to all MBB cards)

Just weird when I went Apple Store bought something  with my MBB2 card buy but didn't have this security pop out?

Hmm...
Edited typo.
*
Apple Store does not use Secure3D.
