if pre-approved, should get letter saying you're pre-approved...otherwise, its just the cs tactics to get us applying.

about 3/4 months ago, when using my maybank petronas cc at myeg, the code is sent to wrong mobile no..so i call cs and ask to rectify and the transaction is fine..last week when i want to use my mbb2 visa at myeg, the code is again sent to the previously wrong no again and i call again to 'update' my phone no...why they didnt update to all of my cc at the first time, only God knows.. p/s: when i was using my petronas card, i already have my mbb2cards

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Dec 13 2011, 04:04 PM) That's very typical of Maybank. My first MBB2 statement was sent to my old house which i already moved out from 3 years ago despite that i already gave them my current home address when i applied for MBB2 the thing is, the phone no. is not even mine at the first place and i never use that no. before..my mobile phone no. is the same as the one i purchase at rm200++ on 2000, and remain the only one i use. if it is the case of not updated to the current one is acceptable (in a way), but completely registering the totally wrong info is absurd to say the least.. btw, last time when they ask to mail my mbb2card, they do read out my 6 year old add in perak. when i told them i've been living in kl for the past 5 years, then they somehow manage to read out my current address which i updated to them when i move in to kl..meaning that they have the info somewhere but didnt really update/still keep the old record intact for whatever reason known to them only...stupid.. QUOTE(tanjq87 @ Jan 4 2012, 01:04 AM) treat points gained from AMEX is different from MC? i tried to redeem something online, they said treat points earned from AMEX not included. they haven't update the online redemption form..but, no worries...as long as you know you have sufficient overall treatpoints, you can redeem it online just by putting in only one of the account no..you dont have to put all account..they can detect your account..last time, i only put in my saving account that only have 200 treatpoints only..they will deduct from whatever treatpoints you have..no worries..

just wondering..if i use my amex for transaction via phone such as car insurrance renewal, am i supposed to read out all the no in front of the amex card (which include the first 4 CID digits)? if using visa/master, im sure that there is no need to read out our 3 digit CVV no...that means using amex via phone transaction is very unsafe..correct?

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ Jan 9 2012, 09:22 AM) I don't think MOTO transactions requires cvv/CID but, the CID no for amex is the first 4 digit of the card which means that if we read out our amex card no, we are also reading the CID no..or can we just read out the remaining no (only 11 digits)? amex card no on card = 1234 123456 12345 btw, what is the purpose of the last 3 digits on the back of the card? if master/visa, its the cvv...but amex also got..for what purpose? cs is useless..they dont even know the first 4 amex no is the 'security no'

QUOTE(zenquix @ Jan 9 2012, 02:10 PM) No CID is not the first 4 digits of the card. It is a 4-digit number on the front of the card, usually the right side of it. ok. lets say the no in front of my amex is "1234 567890 ABCDE". if im paying via phone, should i read out "1234"? or its just "567890 ABCDE"? QUOTE(lucifah @ Jan 19 2012, 03:18 PM) maybe i forgot to mention, i have never needed credit cards, so i never own any credit cards before this card application is merely to build up my credit profile, and also the treats point (RM1 - 2 points!, rather than the measly RM3 = 1 point for debit card) if you really want to build up your credit profile via credit card, just apply one. apply for mbb2card is recommended since it is unconditional free for life card (no annual fee, no minimum usage/swipe). since you are already a filthy rich guy, i'm sure you are at least eligable for gold card. i dont see any need to pledge fd to get a platinum credit card. gold card also able to be use for building credit profile..all you need to do is use any pay full every month (or dont use it at all and keep it safe at home). the overall cost is only rm50 annually (the government imposed credit card tax). ..and you get 5 treatpoints for every rm1 spent on mbb2card amex instead of how much you are getting and plan to get This post has been edited by azam_halim: Jan 19 2012, 03:34 PM

QUOTE(lucifah @ Jan 19 2012, 03:40 PM) doesn't matter if it's gold or platinum, i am still required to make an FD against the cards, which i am not in favour of this i dont understand why..as long as u can fulfill the requirement for credit card, you should be able to get one..unless you're like 15 or something..LOL!

QUOTE(lucifah @ Jan 19 2012, 05:08 PM) i'm not asking which credit card to choose, but HOW to apply for the cards, since one the best cards out there seems to be these cards salary credited through the same bank, even with the bank manager's recommendation, the application still got stuck at the you-need-a-15k-fd-for-the-card stage hm... actually, where are u applying it? try go to bigger branch..ipoh branch instead of kuala sepetang branch
