Maybe should say, due to many people send in, they need to do it quickly, if not, later too many DSLR pending for cleaning.

The process is the same, just whether they have more time to do in detail and properly. Just like you go service your car, if you go when there is a lot of car, they will be doing it quickly, when there's no car, the mechanic can pay more attention to detail (also depend on the mechanic "lar").
As said, it also depend on the person doing the job; Doing it "fast" doesn't mean bad, if the person is good, does a great job, fast and efficient, then fast doesn't mean will end up bad.

Fulamak... I like the lighting technique for this picture and how the details of the model really stands out smile.gif

Btw, is it existing ambient lighting or flash technique?

Ambient lighting, you know I'm always lazy to bring out my flash. Plus there's too many people around, no walls to bounce, ceiling too high and also no voice activated lightstand... ._. I was just changing my position (its hard... everyone's crowding there -.-) until I get this position and lighting biggrin.gif

HI, i am reading the D7k user manual.

In page 26 (lens VR), it mentioned that "do not turn the camera off or remove the lens while vr is in effect. If power to the lens is cut while CR is on, the lens may rattle when shaken...."

Does it mean that I need to slide the VR switch to ON each time I switch on the camera and slide the VR switch to OFF before i switch off the camera?

No, if you want safe, maybe you can opt to turn it off before turn off the camera.

What it means is that, when you half-pres your shutter, the focus will lock and the VR will function (in effect), you can feel the VR functioning. If during this operation and you turn off the camera, it may cause problem.
It maybe accidental as the ON/OFF button is with the shutter button, so, let's say you wanna turn off the camera and you accidentally press the shutter button, you may notice the VR functioning... so, there is possibility that "accidents" may happen.

Happened to my 70200 before, I removed the lens while VR is still active doh.gif

I was wondering how come got a loose element >_<, when put back and when turn on it will lock back in place. Now I make it a habit to check my camera is totally turned off before changing lens.

It's by behaviour and spontaneous. More like habit, nothing to do with thinking. For example, people will always unzip their pant before peeing.

I asked a photographer here. How's the D700? He said the colour was normal, no big difference compared to the D90. Only thing was it's full frame. He used a D90 + 70-200 VR1 before, then he swapped to 5D Mark II + 135 f2. He's happy till now coz he said the 5DMKII gives a nice tone to the picture hmm.gif

Nothing special, just that he prefers the tone from the 5D.

No what I meant was he was happy with the D90, then he wanted to upgrade, so he choosed the 5D instead of the D700 because of the tone it gives out. And he's a good photographer IMO, doesn't care much about his gear. Most of the top photographers here uses 5DMKII doh.gif
