Guys hope you guys can provide me some input on this.

I'm using a SB600 with D90.

Recently the flash has been acting weird. When I snap a picture the flash power is very low and the picture appear will be under expose and the SB600 ready light will be blinking 3 times. I've understand when the ready light blinks it means that I need to tweak the right settings for the exposure. But the thing here is the 3 times blinking occur so frequently and intermittently when I am taking picture of the same thing in the same environment. It just doesn't make sense when the flash work at one snap or two snap and the consequent snap it will keep blinking and then work again and it goes on.

Is that a sign that the flash is gone case?

Tried the 200-400 f/4 at 400mm f/4 before. Amazing! Now I wonder what kind of bokeh would a 400mm f/2.8 yield...  flex.gif
I would think it's out of this world...

Anyway, just for the sake of discussion, the 400mm f/2.8 VR at it's MFD at 2.9m gives a 0.77cm DoF at f/2.8. The 300mm f/4 at it's MFD of 1.45m gives a 0.44cm DoF at wide open f/4.

QUOTE(Agito666 @ Oct 12 2011, 07:16 PM)
i said "THAT TIME" laaaa, adui. sweat.gif
anyway if i wan use 24-70mm f/2.8 OR 24mm f/1.4 to create bokeh, which one is easier? i know zoom lens can create a nice bokeh but still need meet certain requirement right?  nod.gif
then the "certain requirement" is hard to do or not since you tested both lens liao i think. hmm.gif
Depends on how you would like your bokeh to be like... If blurry / dreamy type of background like the samples celciuz has posted, you need to be very close to your subject when using the 24mm f/1.4. At other normal distances at f/1.4 wide open, your background will be slightly blurred and the end result gives you a typical 3D-like image rendering on the subject provided your subject remains sharp. For the 24-70mm f/2.8, I grade it more as a general type of lens that can do most things excellently.

QUOTE(Agito666 @ Oct 12 2011, 07:16 PM)
i use 35mm on DX alraedy feel ngam ngam wide, so 24mm is not enough wide?  whistling.gif
If you feel the 24-70mm f/2.8 is fine, so be it. It's a great lens (one of the best zoom lens out there) and it's your money to begin with.

QUOTE(Everdying @ Oct 12 2011, 07:46 PM)
i dont think its possible yet for the lens to transfer serial number to the exif data.
I guess as much. So it's only body serial number for the moment.

QUOTE(Everdying @ Oct 12 2011, 07:46 PM)
?
24mm and FX, and 17mm on DX due to crop factor which becomes 25.5mm have almost the same field of view.
so how can the 24mm be damn wide?
LOL I agree with you that 24mm and 25.5mm is very minute but the effect from 24mm to 25.5mm is a change of 84 degrees angle of view to 79.3 degrees or so. Focal length on the wide end is always greatly exaggerated than say at the tele end.

Hard to tell. What batteries are you using? How old are they?

Yeah, I had some wide angle shot with 14-24 f/2.8. Poisonous! >(

Friend's lens, so borrow and test lor. He has the trinity and also 85G + 50mm f/1.8G. But too bad none of my friends own the 135 f/2 else would be able to play too aiyoyo~

So, this is the so called better colour? Firstly, it looks fake and colour can be adjusted if you want, unless the photog don't know it can actually be done.
Thirdly, the pic even at such small resolution, you can see it look like water colour painting or doll, look at the face and hair, and it looks like some hard sharpening too?

I think someone previously posted some really nice shot of canon 50mm f/1.2 bokeh;
This has nothing special really? If you don't say, who or how many would've thought it's done with f/1.2? or Canon 5D MKII? The colour, first thing comes into mind would be bump up saturation?

Haha oh well, I bet the Nikon D700 + 50mm f/1.4G can do similar style with post processing. Bokeh wise f/1.2 and f/1.4, I don't think many would be able to tell apart.

Use longer focal length and shoot closer also can.
Use 105mm f/2.8 Macro shooting close up, mebbe can give even creamier effect? Plus superb details?
