I am using the digital ones, AP-38EX

I once turned the humidity to lower about 35-40% and my 70-200mm gone case. The lube inside dried out causing the SWM motor to be broken, I have sent to repair and cost me RM815 and waiting the parts to come from Japan now doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

And the fungus ones is my 85mm F1.4  cry.gif  cry.gif  cry.gif

Can share what is the diff between Analog and digital drybox?

Correct me if im wrong, digital means it will auto regulate the temperature and humidity, while Analog u have to manual change the setting. When analog, one have the tendency to set it wrong hence damage the lens as per your example above?

Im also planning to buy one

b0r1nG, do you have sample pic of your 85 f/1.4 with the fungus? As in, the image how is it affected by?

I searched your post, but you haven't posted any pic on LYN before. Any flickr links or something like that?

It is a Canon event, http://www.canon-asia.com/photomarathon/my/index.html

FOC for Canon users, RM30 for others I think. Don't exactly remember the charges for non Canon users.

hi there

I do not capture the image for the fungus, it's inside the rear lens element and it is very soft, like stain instead of the normal fungus that you have seen on the web.

It does not affect the picture quality at all but I do not like to have a stain aka fungus lens so decided to send in for cleaning and now they cleaned all the element for me and not even a dust is in the lens thumbup.gif  happy smile.gif

I see, so its at the rear element which is why you could see it. I checked my 85 f/1.4G, got dust inside sweat.gif

So how much did you paid? last time I asked quotation for my 70200 to clean the lens due to dust.. 2-3 weeks after that my AF spoil ._., send for warranty and inside was cleaned by them lol. They quoted me close to RM300 if not mistaken for the cleaning.

my 70-200 is not really AF spoilt

it can focus without any issue but when you grabbed the focusing ring and turn to below 1.5m, it will stuck there and hardly can move, something like slipped gear

But when it is above 1.5m to infinity, it is focusing damn fast without issue

Fixing or not it can still be used but I don't feel like having a not perfect lens biggrin.gif

i paid RM150 for the 85mm F1.4 lens cleaning which is damn cheap

Outside shop is around RM200 and they do not have the proper tools to align the lens back

now the 85mm F1.4 is clean and calibrated focus

Guess which one is the one and only one left?

For my case, once you store it long enough say 1 day don't use. The AF will work for a while (1 minute or so) then will be dead. As in it doesn't turn at all, just like manual focus. But funny part is, if I were to hold the AF then manually focus myself, when the AF lights up, the beep sound will appear ._.

Must be the D700 being the survivor... I mean... FX > old gen crop...

Sold off the other 3 and left one to keep sad.gif
