Thanks, its a typo... buying a new SAGA, well, not actually buying, i'm going to get it this afternoon rclxms.gif will be joing the club then... hehe...
thanks for the reply, and i have several questions, where do i check for

3. oil leakage

and for

5. press the plastic paddings on dashboard and both corners, which part is this, i dont quite actually know, is it just the edge of the dashboard?

and the jumper cable is listed in the price, so, ya, will be checking the price... thanks again...
hoho.. since u mentioned it, is the spare tyre for FLX the same size or smaller sized spare tyre?  unsure.gif
*
Getting?? Wah... ini baru betul Even Better laugh.gif

To answer number 3; You will need to park on either cement or tiles overnight to check for leakage. If you park on tarmac, fluid will most likely evaporate before you could spot them.

It's okay to have a slightly smaller spare tire. It's a spare after all. Not meant to be used for a long period of time.

The jerkiness could be contributed by the drive by wire delay as well. I used to suffer from jerkiness caused by the drive by wire delay. During my 10K service, they did something to my car and the delay has almost been eliminated. It feels sooo much better now. wub.gif

There's still a bit of delay, but nothing I can't handle.

dont forget your spare tyre  whistling.gif

The biggest problem with the fuel indicator is that 1 bar can hold around +-50 liters (auto). It's worse for the manual (1 bar can hold even more). There's no way to know if you are at the beginning or the end of the bar so you can have a variance of +-100km in your fc calculation because of that. This doesn't happen for analogue meters cause you can see where you are in that particular bar.

As always, the best way to calculate is still to use the proper method, which is to pump full tank, reset meter, run around, refill full tank again and then compare.

Precisely. I'd rather get a full spec persona at that kind of price.

Or better still, a 1.6 FLX CVT with full spec. If it were to go for around 50K or less. I can spend an extra 1 - 2K to insulate the car myself. lol.

Normally, they will give the same size tire but probably steel rims. At least this was the case for my BLM. Not sure about FL and FLX users.

Even if the rims are smaller, as long as the tire profile compensates (.e.g higher profile), there should be no problems using it. You can use online tire size calculators to verify.

Nope. Altho of diff size but rolling circumference of only very small % diff nia. So ok as temp replacement 2get yu home or to nearest tyre shop.

Juz drive @slower speed to avoid unnecessary worry re safety.

ps. I've personally driven with such diff spare tyre fr Pg to A/Star with no prob!! thumbup.gif

NB. Nowadays only HIGHER end cars come with FIVE (5) pcs same type alloy rims.

Before u collect yr car, u can instruct yr sales person to park it at a cement place and leave it there for few hrs. So when u go to collect, just note the floor. For plastic paddings, mine have creaking noise at the left corner. Anyway, just press all over to make sure nothing is loose.

Morning to all blmers,

Just get some info from my colleague this morning at work, I was informed that my colleague friend's FLX has a major defect which categorized as the 1st case reported to Proton.

Well the story goes like this...
*
Whoa, this is major QC issue. Luckily no serious accident happened. The belt is rated for 200,000km lifespan (if not mistaken I read somewhere). Sigh, I will be going down to Spore soon so now my heart a bit worried, too. Car mileage now only 100+km.

The idea is to reject the car upon first inspection. If u find faults, still accept meh?

The spare is meant for temporary use until u get the original fixed. My FLX comes with 4 Goodyear tyres and the spare is a cheapo "Continental" I think. Not really bothered.

Exactly...i dunno why people keep comparing 1 bar how much fuel...totally inaacurate FC measurement.

Again very true. Even whatever Euro NCAP 5 stars, 10 stars, they only guarantee the safety at 64 km/h or less for front impact, 50 km/h or less for side impact.

It's funny, some people who thinks their cars are indestructible just because they have 3 stars or 4 stars from NCAP and speed at 180km/h.

Even impact at normal highway cruising speed of 110 km/h.....there's no more guarantee from NCAP....you eat urself...LOL.

Well the story goes like this...(plz be informed that I am here to share this true story and I am not any FAN boy from any other club who tries to create anonymous fact less story). This FLX owner got this car and from the first day he drives 80-90km/h Max b4 his 1k service. Right after 1st service, he plan to drive faster back to hometown which is in JB (mileage was clocked at 12++km at that moment). When he started to pickup and the car hit 110km/h  on highway, something from the engine bay break off (acc to the driver, something like belt terputus) and the whole car  stall and cannot start at all...imagine he is driving 110km/h at that moment =.= well cut the story short, car was sent back to SC via tow truck.

after 1 week plus, his car was sent from normal SC to COE and the analysis result is out finally. his FLX CVT GB was replaced completely, the reason behind was the CVT Belt terputus!! No further explanation by the technician and the owner doesn't bother to ask anymore. What I feel is this is purely his bad luck and I am very sure this kind of issue happens in any car company ><

Well, one question from me to any sifu/expert here, does CVT GB's belt so fragile? or may I say easily to be broken apart? Any similar case found in other car so far or this is by far first case?
*
Hmm...the CVT GB from Punch?? Maybe need to research what other cars use this GB and any such same incidence...but to break off so easily is....shocking.gif.....luckily driver didn't get into accident....sweat.gif...i think better stick to old AT GB or manual if buy Saga for time being.....dun wanna be lab rat.....at least for Inspira, Lancer guys have help us test for a few years already.... laugh.gif

I've been driving my dad's Inspira a lot since he bought it and as a result, my Saga SE is gathering dust and spider webs.

It is superior compared to the Saga in almost every aspect. It's more stable around corners and is better insulated which gives the driver a false sense of speed. Put it simply, when you're driving over 100 km/h, it doesn't feel like you're going fast even though you are. Nothing dramatic. The Saga, on the other hand, feels like its about to disintegrate with the noise intrusion and turbulence.

That's the reason why there's a 40K gap between these two cars.
You can try reaching those speeds but then you'd end up in the local newspaper the next day...in pieces.
*
kesian your Saga SE cry.gif
neglected

Speaking of which, yesterday I had the chance to sit in a car which feels like going at 50km/h but actually it is going at 110km/h. But the FC is shit brixx, 15.8L/100km laugh.gif

some people say shell gives better mileage, but underpower. So, if you want to do things to correct the underpower (ie: throttle mashing), then it just defeats the purpose.

Lemon law. Not all cars manufactured are perfect. My FLX has alignment issues too. I have to steer a bit to the left in order to go straight.

My CVT so far so good, been up and down Genting in SAT mode and 110km/h on highways numerous times. SO far sill strong. flex.gif
